After thinking about this design for some time, I decided to try making it simplistic but not bland. The fonts and writing are still a bit sloppy, but I'd appreciate any feedback.

I'm also working on a version with a more detailed saucer section, which I hope to complete soon

I think it's an excellent idea, even if I'm a bit biased due to my love of Star Trek.
I would exercise a little caution with the "Enterprise" section of the design, since it's a trademark. My advice would be to use one of the many excellent freely available Star Trek Fonts for the lettering of "Enterprise" in the logo.

Good luck with your idea, it definitely has potential. :)

    I redid the text:

I also created a different version:

The second design works. And the new letter E is really good.

I like your idea so much I really hope you get it done as a T-shirt.
I had a go with your idea View it here (I'll delete this image in a couple of days because it's your design)
I've used a Vector image of the Enterprise that I'd made for another design.
If you would like you can have a copy of the starship vector, let me know what paint package you use and where to email it.

I think Chuffy's right, and that vectoring the design would really help it out. The concept is great, and you've got the text looking good, but the big black lines throw me off.

The second design is good, but the ship you use needs to be the D (The E is acceptable I guess).

You're using TNG writing, and TOS stuff is played out.

    I like the idea.

I did a vector version of the Constitution:

    And also tried the Galaxy:

    What do you think?

The Galaxy class version definitely. Try using the Crillee font (google it, or get FederationCrille from the site I linked above). It's the font used in the Next Generation credits. This can be used either for all the words on your design in upper and lowercase.

Currently the font used for "rent-a-starship" is at odds with the other two bits of text. Where as the Crillee & TNG Title fonts are complimentary.

For those who want it, I did put this design and my Voyager design on redbubble (Enterprise: http://www.redbubble.com/people/doctorwhy/t-shirts/7604226-starship-rentals) (Voyager: http://www.redbubble.com/mybubble/clothing/7604334-voyages-in-the-delta-quadrant/edit). Unfortunately I think it's still too simple for Teefury.

As an aside, thanks for the link to the font site Chuffy! I don't design shirts, but I do embroidery and those fonts will certainly come in handy for my geeky crafting!
