Married, no kids, two corgi therapy dogs and a deaf cat. Born in Yorkshire, lived in the Home Counties, worked in London, now in Pennsylvania. It's a long story involving a tourist in England, a car crash in Australia, and October the 29th. It would appear that every good artist needs a gallery. Here are a few submissions, and works in progress.

Here's an example of a TeeFury Q&A, in case any of my designs are selected.

----------

Tell us about this design.

The Alien films have been a favorite of mine for years. One of the things I can doodle well is the xenomorph, so I decided to integrate that into a design. There's a line from Aliens, where one of the Marines shouts that the aliens are coming out of the walls and floors, so I thought, "why not have the Weyland-Yutani Corporation use the aliens for more than just weapon applications?" The packing label design is influenced by work from (the now closed) The Designers Republic from Sheffield, England.

Would we have heard of The Designers Republic?

Possibly. And more likely if you're in Europe. They've done album and single cover art for rave artists (especially on the Warp Records label), and indie bands like Pop Will Eat Itself and Supergrass. And if you've ever played any of the WipeOut games on any PlayStation format, TDR gave the game its unique 'look'.

Who would win in a fight: Aliens, Predators, or Marines?

Depends on the situation. If it's through sheer numbers, the Aliens dominate (they can turn Predators and Marines into more Aliens). If it's through a concerted hunt using stealth and cool weapons, Predators win. But the Marines can beat them both if they take off and nuke the site from orbit.

Would that work?

It's the only way to be sure.

What's your favorite shirt, and why?

I bought a £5 shirt outside a Depeche Mode concert in 1998 and it's still going strong. I have two pictures of me wearing it. One was taken in Fremantle, Western Australia. The other was taken on the beach at Chincoteague Island, Virginia. It's as close to being on opposite sides of the world as I've been.

How far is that?

Google Maps says it would take over 211 days to travel between the two without using motorized transport. And that I'd need to kayak across the Pacific Ocean.

Say one thing you'd like people to know about you?

I have two dogs, they're both therapy dogs, and I love taking them to nursing homes.

Say one thing you'd like people not to know about you?

This is going to be a confessional, because I've carried this around with me for years. I accidentally stole a breakfast from a five-star hotel. I didn't mean to: I had booked an activity for the day, and the meeting place was outside this rather swanky hotel. I arrived, and was beginning to worry that I'd missed the trip when the shuttle bus didn't arrive, so I walked into the foyer. They had leaflets from the company in question, so I approached the desk and told them I'd booked a trip and thought I should be waiting outside at 8.30. They called the company, and it turned out I was an hour early. That's when they told me that breakfast was still being served. I helped myself from their buffet selection, and when I approached the woman at the register I said hello. There I was, with a foreign accent, ten time-zones away from the place I called home. So I guess she assumed I was a guest, and I never corrected her. And if the situation presented itself again, I'd do it again. You hear me, Sheraton On The Park? I'd do it all again...
