How do you deal with Copyrights?

I LOVE this website and I buy frequently, but how do you deal with copyright issues? For instance, the shirt today contains images from Star Wars. How is it that Lucas himself isn't breaking down your door?

    Well, there are a lot of variables that go into copyright law, but the majority of the time parodies and satires are protected under fair use copyright law, which I'd say the vast majority of images used on this site are.

    An interesting case involving jeff koons is here:

    He was sued successfully because he used a photo for reference for a sculpture and claimed fair use. However, he didn't change anything besides turning a photo into a 3-Dimensional sculpture and lost.
