I like the idea of making Joe this massive Gundam but he needs to be striking a more interesting pose.

I'd worry about the text later since it shouldn't be the main focus, just in the background to connect the reference. You want the art to be the focus.

The main artwork's great, everything else needs work... Awesome subject matter, one of my absolute favorite games!

So what could the background be?
