I'm an art collector and love hearing stories from other people as well. I know a lot of the Tee Fury community collects their art in the form of tees, but what about collectors of other art? Paintings? Sketches?

What are some of your favorite pieces, and where did you find them? I've seen collections where people found incredible pieces next to dumpsters in larger cities or at tag sales. A couple of my cooler pieces came from eBay before it became the monster it is today.

One of my favorite pieces is a charcoal of a curvy, nude woman that I found in a basement 2nd hand shop- Framed and all for $5. I'd post a picture, but I don't know how.

Anyone have any good stories?

I usually hit up Etsy for things seeing as I like to help support the comminities I'm involved in. However I've found that garage sales and consignment shops are great places to find really strange one-of-a-kind things.
I found a 4.5x4.5' framed painting of owls from a garage sale last week. It was incredibly tacky, but the best kind.

I have several paintings that are so tacky they are brilliant! I try to support local commerce too. I spend lots of time wandering around resale shops, flea markets, antique stores. I found two really interesting pieces by local artists at Good Will a couple weeks back.

Another great tacky find was a painting of frogs on burlap, framed and everything. My four years of school in Georgia were good if only for that.
