When I was in college I came up with an idea for a departmental t-shirt contest, but missed the deadline because of thesis research.

So... here I am with my idea that I still think is kinda awesome. I drew it out by hand, but I'm curious what to do next. What art programs do you guys use? Is there a way to scan my pen sketch and make it the proper format for submitting to TeeFury (or somewhere else I can print it and send it to people who might like it)?

Personally, I use Photoshop- it's expensive, but there are free trials to download and decide whether it's right for you.

I clean up my scans and adjust/add color in that program.

I sketch on a pad. If it's any good I scan it & clean it up on Photoshop. :)

I think the fiance has Photoshop... hmmm... I was worried that there was some kind of obscure/hard to use programs I needed. I've worked with Photoshop at a previous job, so there's hope for me yet.

    Thanks MJ and Crushem!!

I think I'll attack his computer and work on it tomorrow. YEA!

I use Adobe Illustrator for the most part but I have used Inkscape (also a vector program) which is open source and free.

It might be a good idea to download the free 30 day trials of Photoshop and Illustrator and play with them (many great tutorials are online) and see which you feel most comfortable with.
