Tell us about this design:
What’s that you say, mom? Getting C’s on my report card is NOT ok? Well, why not? Bobby’s mom doesn’t care if HE comes home with C’s. Nope, sorry kid. It’s not OK to be average!! Work to your potential and stay in school!! Your country and your future are depending on you to work hard and learn stuff. /PublicServiceAnnouncement
Where are you located?
Southeastern PA, just outside Philly. Home of the cheesesteak, soft pretzel, and Tastycakes. Yum!
What's a day in the life of Naheed like?
Don’t tell anybody, but I’m an international spy. I can’t give you any more details for fear of blowing my cover and exposing myself to hostile espionage organization Fulcrum. No wait, that was last night’s episode of Chuck. Nevermind. Let’s see, I wake up at the crack of dawn for work, teach kids English so they can talk good and stuff, come home exhausted, help my own kid with homework, forage for dinner, hang out and do boring things like watch TV and talk with the family. I make sure I do something creative every night, whether it’s messing around with t-shirt designs or planning world domination. I don’t live a very exciting life, but I’m 100% happy and fulfilled. You’re disappointed, aren’t you. It’s cool. You can still pretend I’m a spy if you want to.
Do you own a lot of shirts? If so, what's your favorite?
My closet has become overrun by my ridiculous t-shirt addiction, however, I have no plans to change my behavior. Besides, I can stop anytime I want. Really, I can. Is it time for the Facebook preview? Is it midnight yet??? I need to know what shirt is for sale tomorrow!!!
My all time favorite shirt is “Don’t Care Bears” by Alex Solis. It’s the one shirt that I feel really fits my personality. Cute and adorable in an “I can’t be bothered” kind of way.
If you could go only to one restaurant for the next five years, which would it be?
Hmmm…. tough question. I love food, but if I have to choose just one restaurant, I’m going to have to say Chipotle. Have you tasted their guacamole??? I would drink it out of a wine glass for the next five years.
What do you like to do for fun?
I like to write interviews for t-shirt websites. Seriously, this is fun! I also like to read trashy vampire novels (NOT Twilight!!), watch movies, hang out with my kid, and spend endless hours in front of my laptop. It’s like a window to the world! Oh, throw in a hearty dose of music and dancing for good measure. Life’s no fun without music.
Star Trek or Star Wars?
See evil villain question below for more details. Definitely Star Wars, but I do enjoy Star Trek as well. You could say I’m an anomaly in the sci-fi fandom for liking both. I also run a Star Wars club at my school for the kids. During our club meetings we have lightsaber duels with pool noodles, munch on wookiee cookies and play highly competitive rounds of Attacktix and Epic Duels. It’s one of the most popular clubs in the school. Oh yeah! Air high five, Star Wars fans!!
Would you rather survive a zombie apocalypse or a nuclear apocalypse?
A zombie apocalypse so I can still go out during the day and set up mannequins in the abandoned video store downtown and pretend they are my friends. After that, I can run around the city and pillage all by myself with nobody to stop me. So much more fun than living underground during a nuclear apocalypse.
Best villain ever?
The Yuuzhan Vong from Star Wars New Jedi Order books. They are the meanest, nastiest, evil bad guys in the Star Wars galaxy. Undetectable by The Force with no regard for other species, especially those that value technology and machines, they are impossible to defeat. Well, almost. Read the books to find out what happens. Or you can just look it up on Wookieepedia. Wow, that was incredibly nerdy! You’re not going to put this out on the Internet, right?
What would be your dream job?
I think I’m already in my dream job. I have the privilege of teaching children who come to America from all over the world with little or no English skills. I feel like I’m a contributing member of society and an important part of helping these kids achieve their goals and secure successful futures. It’s not going to make me rich, but I get to go to bed each night fulfilled and proud of my work. Either that or CEO of Microsoft. That’s probably a pretty cool job. They need me over there, they just don’t know it yet. Are you reading this, Bill?
MAC or PC?
Definitely PC. Well, except for my iPhone, iPod, and iPad. Other than that, PC all the way! Are you reading this, Steve?
Any shout outs?
First and foremost, a big old shout out to Teefury for featuring my design today. Thanks for giving me and other artists the opportunity to shine for a day. You guys rock! A huge shout out to my husband and son for putting up with me. Also, to my mom and dad for their never ending support. Finally, a great big shout out to my ninjas, they’re everywhere and nowhere.

The clenched fist is part of the joke- it's a protest symbol dating back to the early 1900s. Generally people get worked up about the extremes, the joke here is protesting in favor of the average.

I understand the origins and the concept behind the use of the fist, but what I don't understand (especially given the wide range of examples just on the source you linked) why the fist has to be clip art.
Unless...the message of this shirt goes even deeper (which I hope is true since the artist's talent is amazing as proven in the side art) that a simple copy and past of a clip art into microsoft word, surrounded by some circle text and whamo! the most mediocre, saddest tshirt ever.

I understand that part. The concept is good. I'm saying this particular fist image is an almost exact tracing of this: http://thelangarhall.com/sikhi/a-little-outrage/
Originality should count.
