    funny design, but i don't think it sits well as a tshirt. it's too small on the shirt and is oddly placed. wearing it would make me feel as if i was about to be impaled by the mop handle. and as said before that white fluid makes your mind go somewhere else O_O

    Eh, it's an okay design, but why did you see the need to end the top of the mop handle in an awkward halftone fade? It's long enough, you should have just rounded it off and called it a day.

    For those of you giggling like middle schoolers about the color of the bucket liquid --- grow the heck up and realize how juvenile and stupid you sound.

    And for those of you who hate SpongeBob -- if you're the same kind of folks who find genuine amusement in ceiling cats and other stupid memes, I'll be around to your house straightaway to give you a good slapping! ;)

    I like it. It's really cute. I think any bigger and it would be more awkward than it is small.

    I seem to be the only one, but I kind of wish I could see the front of his face. His eyes looking terrifiedly (making that word up) down at the mop handle.

    The original art on Ready's site includes a blue tint to the water, so something got lost in translation here on Teefury, which is too bad, especially since folks seem so quick to turn it into something crude.

    Dear superflyiceman (if that is indeed your real name). Thank you for telling me to calm down. You have no idea how bothered I was about this design and the infantile creeps who keep suggesting the fluid in the bucket looks like some sort of adult secretion. I was literally up all night, banging about on the roof of my house screaming to the heavens for some sort of divine intervention which would miraculously cause folks like that to graduate from their middle-school way of thinking and realize that what they've hinted at is not only stupid, but not even accurate. My neighbor even took a few potshots at me with his pellet gun, thinking I was some sort of werewolf howling at the moon, until I explained my plight to him. Then... I saw your post.
    It was like a ray of purest heaven-sent enlightenment bursting forth upon all seven of my senses at once! I now realize I was entirely out of line for getting SO VERY upset that people were making jokes. I had been entirely anti-joke, in fact, until you came along and showed me the error of my ways. Humour should always be lowest-common-denominator-based, if at all possible, and I have you to thank for showing me that. I'm also very much anti-cartoon and sci-fi, which you will realize with the slightest glance at my facebook page or blog, but I think I just might give those things a try now.     You are all correct that it looks like a big bucket of man-chowder. Mine is as opaque and white as Elmer's glue, but the doctor just told me it's because I'm a radioactive mutant. It should clearly be blue, since water is, in fact, blue, especially in small quantities held in red buckets. Carry on.

    I find the design to be poorly executed. Others have pointed out the awkwardness of the end of the mop handle & SB's missing pants legs. What bothered me most was the hands. Take a look at some Spongebob drawings and note the roundedness and three-dimensionality of the hands in comparison.

    Having looked through the artist's Flickr stream, I can honestly say that I like his drawing style and design sense very much. This example shows what he is capable of, and I don't think this t-shirt lives up to his capability. It reads like a first draft.

    The joke itself also falls flat to me. I realize humor is subjective, but this particular joke (repurposing SB as cleaning equipment) has been done many times on the show itself; this adds nothing new. Or as @TakashiStormii wrote above, "this comes across as just a Spongebob shirt."

    I studied the artwork more. I don't see SB being downed by a mop handle. It is an arrow with a rubber suction cup tip on the end. The kind that kids played with when I was little, (a million years ago.) That is why the top end is fuzzed out with pixels, to portray a feathered end. I also still believe the bucket is full of milk. I've never been a fan of SB, but I'd buy the suicidal banana shirt in a heart beat.

    I like the idea, but I agree, the color of the water is no good. For people saying "grow up", etc. You need to consider how others will perceive the shirt. I don't want to be subject to being made fun of. Even if it's only $9.

    If the water was a light blue, etc. this would have been an instant buy. Congrats on the print though! I dig the shirt color too!

    • Don't insult each other. It's rude, and can lead to your account being banned.

    Having a 5 year old who watches the show obsessively I think there has been at least one episode of SB where he has used himself as a mop...and other episodes where he has used himself as other various cleaning tools.

    Showed this to my son after school about an hour ago and he smiled and laughed. I bought one for myself, but not because I hate SB but because my entire household loves him.

    Oh and I don't care about the white fluid cleanup. Could be mayo or that white sauce you use on seafood. Heck I can even see it as sudsy water.

    Its not exactly a family friendly image is it, he's either cleaning with bleach or we're objectifying a person as only the thing they're built for, nothing that sounds too kid friendly, being forced face to the ground with a pole through his back, really encouraging to kid's about their favorite character.. face down in a puddle, being put to work.

    You are all correct that it looks like a big bucket of man-chowder. Mine is as opaque and white as Elmer's glue, but the doctor just told me it's because I'm a radioactive mutant. It should clearly be blue, since water is, in fact, blue, especially in small quantities held in red buckets. Carry on.

    I love the sea theme. I lived in a metro area and "joes crab shack" was a huge tourist, t shirt shop, so I love the play on the idea. And there's even a sad little mermaid (arial?)
    I was contemplating it...then I saw the "but no prawns" and that sealed the deal.

    Also PLEASE PRINT DR WHO DESIGN. Like..that wouldn't be half a heartbeat (or two if you have em) of a thought before buying. Wantwantwant!
