I originally saw this on Facebook..but seeing it here (mostly because it's larger), I like it a whole lot more. I think it's the li'l piece of cake that does it for me. It's so absolutely out of place compared to the other components of the design that that li'l piece of cake just.. takes the cake!
Definately gonna have to decide whether or not I have the money to spend on this one.

For those who are confused: it is a reference to the [amazing] video game Portal, which began as a tiny game in the four-in-one set of video games called "Orange Box," and has since exploded in popularity. If you've ever heard of "the cake is a lie," "companion cube," or "GLaDOS," it's from this game... I own Portal, but have yet to even try to play it. I have been too busy working full time to make enough money to buy all the awesome shirts that are here on TeeFury. And since I have yet to play it, I would feel odd wearing this shirt. I have always had a soft spot for Jimiyos style, in my book he is up there with MissMonster.

To those people who don't "get it" - there's this video game called Portal (never played it, so this is the wiki!): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_cake_is_a_lie#Plot

You as a player are encouraged in this puzzle/action scenario game (you try and get that cube - the companion cube - into various holes) with promises of cake. However, in one of the later stages, there is graffiti on the wall that says, "The cake is a lie!!!!!!"

From Urban Dictionary.com:

Roughly translates to "your promised reward is merely a fictitious motivator". Popularized by the game "Portal" (found on Half-Life 2's "Orange Box" game release for PC, X-Box 360, and PS3). During the game, an electronic voice encourages you to solve intricate puzzles using cake as a motivating perk. When you have "broken out" of the game's initial testing phase (from threat of death), you find scrawls on walls of the innards of the testing center warning you that "the cake is a lie".

example of use:
Employee #1: Yo, Dave, manager says we will probably get a promotion if we meet the sales expectations for this quarter.

As usuall I love the Jimiyo shirt. To the few complaints over (lack) of colour, it fits the game's colour schema perfectly. Only thing I would have loved to see is a bit more detail around the internal edges of the portal, as they are a bit too uniform.

Jimiyo, I have yet to purchase a shirt from you, yet... Yeah. You're awesome. When I first came to the Fury, and looked through the forum, you had like a bazillion posts. I was like... 'He seems cool.'

I've seen tons of your shirts around the Interwebz, and wanted to buy (uh nearly) every single one.
And on your nuclear-death-being-easier-than-undead-death, I gotta disagree. Well both stink, but in a nuclear war, you have just as much a chance as becoming a weird mutant thing with laser eyes and frog legs as dieing.
So the real question is, would you rather be a flesh-eating upright-pile-of-goo... a zombie, or a laser frog?

The thing about the human body is that everyone is a different shape. You might want it to fit your form but then it would be ill-fitting for others, it's a t-shirt not a bespoke fitted shirt. ... and tee fury shirts are exactly the same shape as every other regular t-shirt I own.

I love how the ribbon goes through the portals. If stretched out, the words would be in a different order. It looks like maybe "true lies never love", which applies to portal's story as well. I'm probably overanalyzing it, but awesome shirt none the less.

I'm really impressed with the amount of detail you managed to incorporate here, but I have to echo a couple other commenters and say that the overall look of this is very chaotic. Not quite the kind of thing I would want to have plastered across my chest. Still, really nice design! This must have taken ages, and it definitely deserves its success.

I'm in the process of buying a house, so how about helping me cover the empty walls Jimiyo. Vader would really look nice on one of them.

I have yet to play my copy of Portal, so unfortunately I don't totally understand the shirt. I did instantly recognize it as a Portal tribute though. I can't bite since I'm already buried in shirts and don't fully understand it, but it is nice work as always.

DOUBLE INTERVIEWS! WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

Today, we have an interview with community member MikeK47 who posed questions for today's artist jimiyo to answer.

Interview with MIKEK47:

Where are you located.
Southern California

What are you studying?
I study Necromancy. You could say it gives me new life.

How did you find Teefury?
I believe I found teefury while doing google searches for different t shirt websites. I think.

Do you participate in the community? Teefury.com or Facebook, or lurk?
I used to be more active in the Teefury community. I lurk occasionally. I don't have a facebook :)

Honest impression of the Teefury community?
The teefury community is cool. I see less people being censored nowadays.

What is your favorite Teefury shirt?
My favorite Teefury Shirt? That's easy. My favorite is Soylent Green by L11Moon.
I love zombies and post-apocalyptic movies so this shirt is an automatic win. It was also the second teefury shirt I ever bought.

Interview with jimiyo:

So besides cake what motivates you?
Coffee. Coffee is not a lie.

If you could live in any movie universe which would it be?
Ever play Final Fantasy VIII? (game, not movie) Aside from all the violence and monsters, I always thought that city next to the sea was always pretty nice. Be nice to just fish and play Triple Triad all day.

Star Wars or Star Trek?
Star Trek. Truthfully, I never really got into the SW movies. I used to watch ST:NG, and I just recently watched First Contact. There were some epic lines in it.

Picard: "There's plenty more letters in the alphabet." (Referring to Enterprise E having to be put to self destruct."

Wharf: "Assimilate This!"

Data: "And for a time, I was tempted by her offer... 0.68 seconds sir. "

If you were any object in a kitchen what object would you want to be?
One of those appliances bought in a moment of weakness from a late night infomercial, that way I could just sit in the cabinets and not be bothered.

Sony, Nintendo, or Microsoft?
That's difficult. They are all great companies. I used Microsoft products the most.

If you could have any animal as a pet what animal would you want?
Kittens of course.

Would you rather live through a nuclear apocalypse or a zombie apocalypse?
A GREAT QUESTION. We'll have to add this to our regular roster!

Both would definitely suck. Although I'd hate the messiness of a zombie apocalypse, the negative longterm ramifacations of a nuclear fallout would probably be worse in the longrun. I fear Zombies worse than Nuclear death though. Nuclear death would be more swift I would hope.

You're in a desert, walking along in the sand, when all of a sudden you look down. You look down and see a tortoise, Jimiyo. It's crawling toward you. You reach down and you flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping. Why aren't you helping?!
