Tell us about yourself:
My name is Jorge, I'm from Indiana. I've always been into art and drawing is something I've done off and on through the years. It's definitely an "On" time thing right now and I'm just liking where things are going and hope to continue with it.
Where are you located?
Northwest Indiana commonly referred to as "The Region"
What's a day in the life of Jorge like?
Wake up. Coffee Maker. Get ready for work. Try not to forget coffee as I head out the door.
Do my daily 8. Go home. If I don't have any extra work going on, I usually just chill, or spend time with family/friends.
What do you like to do for fun?
Painting for one, but It's been a busy summer so haven't had a chance to do much extra fun stuff. I just bought some canvas and really want to get back into it before too long.
What do you want Teefury fans to know?
It's really awesome having something featured here today and I hope you dig it.
When did you decide to be an artist as a profession, and why?
I'd always been a doodler and that was it. Way, way back in High School I was having a conversation with a guidance counselor and honestly didn't know what I wanted to do after I graduated. I thought it would be cool to draw for a living and then set it in my mind to start drawing. It took me a long time to get anywhere near improving, but the key thing was I saw progress and continued.
How did you get your start in art?
I was working in a restaurant and my boss knew I had artistic ambitions. A college buddy of his owned a screen print shop and was looking for some extra help. I showed him some drawings and was hired. The funny thing is almost all of the work was typesetting computer stuff and up until that point I'd never worked on a computer before.
Do you own alot of shirts? If so, what's your favorite?
Most of the tees I wear regularly are blanks. My favorite with a print, is one of the flag of the state of Indiana on a navy tee. I think it's got more to do with where I was than the art or the print itself. There's some good memories associated with that time.
Star Trek or Star Wars?
Both are cool, but to pick just one I vote Star Wars.
Would you rather survive a zombie apocalypse or a nuclear apocalypse?
Surviving any kind of apocalypse would be great! Zombie would be better though because there would probably be lots resources left to use (daily supplies, farms, etc..) and structurally things would still be usable enough that getting things back to normal would be easier. This is all speculation tho.
MAC or PC?
MAC.
Any shout outs?
Yes. My family for being awesome and supportive of my endeavors; my friends, and coffee.
