Words from jimiyo: Halloween approaches! This one is for those who don't like dressing up, but don't necessarily want to be the odd man out at a party full of costumed people. Donkey Kong... easy ice breaker and a cool exit: I'm going to go get some bananas and split.

•    Residing in Melbourne, Australia
•    Ex-Designer, now back at university getting an education for a “grown-ups” job  (Business).
•    I keep my design skills alive with my t-shirt sites
•    I’m also a motoring enthusiast, I have my car which I enjoy spending time and money on, also attend car cruises with various different clubs

What's a day in the life of Gerard like?
Well, I like to start each day with a standard sleep until the very last possible minute before I start getting really late to where I need to be. I skip breakfast because I think breakfast is a scam made up by companies to monopolise on the food. Once I reach to the place I am meant to be, I end up staring blankly at something until it’s time for me to go home. I take the long way home because honestly there’s not a lot to do there. Get home, watch a few episodes of Simpsons and whatever else is on TV and enjoy the relaxation.

Where are you on the map?
Melbourne, Australia.
Melbourne is one of Australia’s most laid back states, the weather is unpredictable, the people are friendly, the roads are wide and the air is clear. I don’t think I’d want to live anywhere else.

Do you own a lot of shirts? If so, what's your favorite?
The shirts I own are extremely predictable and plain, I have been designing shirts for years and am a big fan of a lot of different designs. But have never gotten around to actually buying many, which this question has only just made me realise...  hmm..
My Favorite shirt is a text only one that says “I shaved my balls for this??”

What inspires you?
Simplicity and humor, quirkiness in everyday life is what makes it worth living.

What do you like to do for fun?
Fun for me is sitting in front of the TV, watching re-runs of almost anything with a big bag of chips and some red bull. Good times.

Have you ever had to get stitches? Any battle scars?
Australian waters are riddled with man eating sharks, they kill anything in its sight and show no mercy. Their razor sharp teeth and powerful jaws tear away limbs in seconds and shred flesh like paper. Luckily for me I don’t swim, so I have no wounds, stitches or scars.
I did cut the webbing between my fingers once while opening a package I got from ebay.. man that hurt.

How did you get your start in art?
After high school I started a multimedia course at university because I wanted to learn how to make those de-motivational posters in photoshop. Once I mastered that, I moved onto working in the design field.

What skills do you think one should have to be a good tshirt designer?
humor and patience, not everything works straight away. A lot of getting a great design out is knowing what people want at the time. That, and know some star wars jokes.. everyone loves star wars shirts...

What's your art process like, from initial sketch to finished product?
I’m very basic with what I use for shirt designs, if I don’t already have an idea, I start off with shapes until I get an idea and work from there.

What would be your dream job?
The Stig

If you could own an exotic animal as a pet, what kind would you have, and what would you name it?
I love cats, and a baby tiger would be awesome. The look so cuddly and friendly, until they rip your face off. But until then! I wouldn't bother with a name, it would most likely consume me before I could get the words out.

MAC or PC?
Definitely PC, sorry to all the MAC lovers and users out there, but MAC’s are pretentious. There I said it!

Big shout out to the team and friends at RedBubble, there’s a great community there and lot’s to learn. Also a big thanks to my girlfriend who puts up with me spending hours in front of the computer trying to get a design just right or browsing the market.
