Where are you on the map?
Just moved back to Long Beach, California from Portland, Oregon.
How many prints have you had at Teefury now?
This will be my sixth.
What was your favorite to get printed?
Probably Puppet Check-Up
Got any ideas for any future shirts?
Tons, I'm always plotting the next shirt design, and usually work on them when I can find the time.
How are the pugs? :D
Fantastic. They love the new apartment. Dozer, the older one, has been particularly sweet and snuggly, and CK Dexter Haven, the younger, has been attempting to jump off of any high object in the apartment.
Do they do any tricks?
Yeah. They both can sit, lay down, and roll over on command. Also, they are both very affluent at snoring loudly, as well as making random snorking noises.
What's your most popular shirt?
Probably a split between the designs I did "Attack of Literacy" and "The league of cliché Evil Super Villains" for threadless. Also, the "puppet check up" for teefury, and "filter heroes" for the chop shop. It's hard to figure which of those is the most popular, but I'm pretty sure it's one of them.
You are a freelance illustrator. Has the industry changed since the recession?
Yes. I saw an immediate dip in clients, and had to re-strategize, since then, my client base has re-grown again, but it's a pretty scary time to be freelancing. Then again, it's sort of an unstable field, which I guess is part of the joy of it.
What are the niceties of working from home?
Not having to answer to a manager, not having to wear a uniform, or even get dressed if I like, being able to be with the pugs all day, and being able to stroll through the city for inspiration if I'm not feeling a design or illustration job. Also, being able to sneak in working on pages of my graphic novel whenever I've got some free time.
What are the cons?
You are your own manager, so scheduling, billing, and odd hours, as well as having to deal with your own technical computer problems or whatever on your own. Feast and famine periods. Also, a bit of isolation.
Anything you want to say to the Teefury community?
You guys are awesomeness. Thanks to those of you who've bought shirts from me, you guys keep me afloat, and keep my pugs happy and fed.
Any shouts outs?
Well, shout out to jimiyo and sonmi and the teefury staff for selling some of my designs on here. It's muchly appreciated. Shout out as well to my fiance, Mai, and her awesome watercolor skills: http://www.maikemble.com/Site/Welcome.html
I definitely need to hold off on any other shout outs, or it'll get way too long, and I'll most likely forget someone, then feel bad :)

How many times do we have to say not to refer people to other sites from our front page? 100% not acceptable, and you're courting a ban if you do it.
