I disagree. The text placement is the "obvious" place for it under the wing of the helmet there; it's not daring or anything. And why would the design make "no sense" without text? Do you really look at art that literally? It would be *fine* without the text. As for what the text says itself, not only does it not match the image, like I said earlier, but it's horribly cliched as well. The word "punk" is overused in art, literature and music.

Never been a fan of punk, either the music or people who use the whole punk aesthetic to act like a smurf cos they 'dont care' (You will when you grow up son).

oh, come on.
This is not an art masterpiece like some Dali, Frida or Picasso painting to take care about cliches. That's just a t-shirt.
Yes, i'm joking using a "big cliche" like so many people do everyday on shirts, cartoons, TV, Movies, Photos, whatever. People deal with it everyday and many good stuff are made this way. What you call cliche, i call pop.
My point here was make a MashedPotato between a Punky mohawk haircut and the Roman helmet brush stuff. If was without text, people could not identify the "punk" on the joke judging just the skull.
I believe the text maybe is not too necessary, but i agree with Kerig.

So I'm a moron, huh? Congrats, keyboard commando, I'm terrified. No, truly. Someone trying to abuse me over the Internet... gosh, just frightening. The fact of the matter is it WOULD work without the words -- the artist has SAID AS MUCH -- not to mention if it was to have text, there are actually funnier lines that could be inserted there, anyway. I'm not going to sit here and rattle them off for someone else's gain -- but if anyone spends five minutes thinking about it, there are some rather funny one liners that would work much better than what's on there.
