I like the idea of the awareness idea (being a Louisiana resident) but I wish you would have gone with a more direct approach. a more obvious one. I really dont think people will understand this tee. If I didn't know the title, I would think it just look like the bottom half of this whale just exploded lol. So idk. I guess not a buy for me. Sorry!
Hello I'm new to this site. I noticed you saying this is your design. Did you get a message letting you know yours was going to show up (Notification) or do you have to check this site every day?

:) I think they just meant they'll be purchasing it. The person who designed this shirt is http://www.teefury.com/people/38953/zeppelin_fox/
Aww man! I really wanted this shirt, but I bought a bunch of shirts yesterday from another site. I've got too many coming for me now. :(
Also, I agree- barcode forest is awesome . Though, I'm not a huge fan of wearing white shirts.
This is fantastic! Would like much better though if girls shirt was in the darker blue too. Not feeling the powder blue as much. But really like the design. The splash of ink makes it soooo cool!

You might want to check out the current contest they've got going over at DBH and vote for your favorites. Plenty of the entries are more direct about the issue.

The whole concept is that they sell the shirt before they print it. That way they print exactly how many they need. That's part of why the cost is so low.
Would have loved to have seen this on a white shirt. The blue really doesn't do any justice to the design and the color only detracts from the white and black motif.
Funny, I liked it in the side art when I couldn't buy it.
I love our orca here in the great NW, but now that I have read the statement on this design, it would make me sad every time I wear it.
As far as awareness goes; I think everyone is aware of what BP allowed to happen in our gulf.
I love the subtlety of this design. I think I may get it! I wish the girl's was on the darker blue. I can appreciate the subtle gesture...not everything has to be spelled out. Thanks for printing this TeeFury, and for the design zeppelin_fox!

the shirt design is nice, but killer whales live in northern pacific and alaska waters. The Gulf of Mexico is way to warm. We have sharks and dolphins!
I wish I had bought Headphone when it came along, so I'm glad there is another shirt during Art Week which I really like a lot. Definitely a buy. Great work.
I love it! Bought it for my boyfriend because the light babyblue absolutely wouldn't suit me. Besides that the whale's head would expand it I'd wear that tee!
Love the design. Don't care for preachy imagery that much, but since the message in the post just seemed to be "tacked on", it didn't detract from the art itself. I can appreciate it as just cool artwork of a killer whale leaping from an ink blot.
tidusid said: this is great and all except for the fact there are no orcas in the gulf coast
Really?
Information for offshore regions and tropical waters is more scarce, but widespread, if not frequent, sightings indicate that the killer whale can survive in most water temperatures. There have been sightings, for example, in the Mediterranean, the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Mexico and the Indian Ocean around the Seychelles.
lawrence88 said: Did any t-shirt ever actually sell out?
I believe the shirts are made upon request...so it cant really be sold out when they ahvent made it yet
Just wondering since the FAQ said it either sells out or the 24 hours passes by and then we no longer can purchase it... wonder what was the most popular shirt ever, one of the shirts has a flaming t-bird that says WHOA POPULAR.
lawrence88 said: Did any t-shirt ever actually sell out?
I think they print them on demand. That's why it takes a bit longer for them to get here. Once the day is over, they print however many were ordered and send them off.
Anyway. Glad I caught this shirt. Haha. Get it? Ocean. Caught.
I crack myself up.
Tell us about your design: My design relates directly to the Gulf of Mexico and the BP oil scare. I
thought it would be interesting to show an awareness design, but not
make it very obvious. Plus it looks pretty cool =] .
Where are you from? I'm from Sydney, Australia.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you? Well
I'm a 4th year design student, who gains inspiration from everything
around him. I don't necessarily mean abstract or beautiful things, but
random things ! That, I believe brings out the best in design. What do you absolutely not want them to find out? I'm a terrible planner, and forgetful. Faces I can remember but names get me every time. Name a few of your favorite things. Long
walks on the beach under the moonlight whilst sipping pina coladas and
singing Kumbaya. But also my friends, family, girlfriend, video games,
classic rock, tees, soccer and road trips. What are your feelings about the internet? One
day it will all be about control. People will have surrogates and
avatars because they'll be too scared to walk outside. But right now
it's swell dandy. Would you rather own the moon or own a castle? The moon of course. Because then I could build a castle on there in my giant bubble and harvest the delicious cheese. Rhinocerous vs. 7 monkeys: which would win the battle? Rhino.
At least one of the monkeys will be lazy or let the others down because
in teamwork there is always one person who does that. But then again
monkeys are always angry and could take it out on the poor innocent
rhino. Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much. Hmm
well I have a batman one, a grey shirt simply with the yellow bat
symbol in the middle but also my Quiksilver shirt, white with a black
circle design. I've always been a fan of neutral colours. Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium. That's
a tough one. Between movies and games I mean. Scratch reading. Probably
games because it's an escape from the real world into a whole new
fantasy or experience. Can I be a graphic designer and a Film director
at the same time? Gaming: Gears of War (PC) and Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee Film: Fight Club and The Shawshank Redemption What inspires your work? Mostly puns and random things, but also films I've enjoyed or things people have said. Any shout outs? To my girlfriend who just returned from USA for 3 months =]

Killer whales can be found in pretty much any body of salt water. They're the most widespread cetacean after dolphins.
