Tell us about this design:
Well this design is based on a stencil piece I did here in Portsmouth UK, it originally said P (picture) M, spelling PAM the guys I write with, but to make it more accessible to people I changed to BAm and the font is now a comic font
Tell us about yourself:
Im an illustrator/Designer/Street Artist/Dreamer from UK. I trained as a graphic designer but in my spare time have moved more into illustration, my first forays were about 6 yrs ago when I ventured into the designer toy field and about a year later I landed my first production design for Toy2rs Designer Qee series 5. Since then ive worked with Kid Robot, Play Imaginitive, Circus Punks and more, mostly on toy design, but i have also design clothing and prints. I also dabble in Graff/Stencil art, mainly local stuff.
Where are you located?
Im from the "Sunny" South Coast of UK, Portsmouth to be precise :)
I noticed you have a lot of graffiti art in your flickr. Can you tell
us about that?
Yeah, ive always loved graff, since it first hit the UK, spent most of my school days drawing pieces and characters, tho i never really did uch spraying. A Few years back I got back into it, mainly stencil at first, but doin more n more freehand now. I find theres nothing better than a few friends painting a wall in the sun, happy days :)
Do you get into trouble or is it approved for painting?
Lol no trouble, Ive been involved in some legal stuff in Portsmouth but we have an "understanding" with the local football stadium, who dont mind if we paint the walls down the alley that runs by the ground and we've found that the locals are amazingly positive about what we do :)
Why are you an aritst?
I have been all my life, some of my earliest memories are of listening to War of the Worlds trying to imagine the monsters and drawing them and of my love of zombies from reading Fighting Fantasy books, copying the self mutilating living dead lol
What's a day in the life of mimic like?
erm not sure anyone wants to go there lol well I work as an artworker for a large format printers, its gets me money, then I go home... then I start my own stuff, mimic is mainly a hobby tho im trying now to push my name out there more, see if theres any life in me doing mimic permanently. After 10 yrs in graphics ive slowly realised im more an illustrator/artist.
What inspires you?
Movies, music, comics, all the artists around me, be it street artists, illustrators, toy designers. I get influences from all over tho im a big fan of zombies and skeletal forms and I love to re-imagine pop culture.
If you could go only to one restaurant for the next five years, which
would it be?
Man thats tough, im a bit of a fussy eater lol but I couldnt eat the same thing over n over. OK the Harvester near me, im lazy and the got a good bar too.
What do you like to do for fun?
Paint! spray paint, beer, music, friends, laughs, I love to laugh and make other people laugh :)
Have you ever had to get stitches? Any battle scars?
Yes, I was once playing tag in the school playground and ran smack into another boy, we both ended up with stitches, mine were across my eyebrow, still a slight scar if you know where to look.
What would the you of now, tell the you of 10 years ago?
Easy, Dont Go To High Wycombe! long story, but a lot of unhappiness resulted from that decision.
What would be your dream job?
Designing my own toy, or my signature pair of Adidas, im a big adidas fan lol Maybe just generally designing as mimic, stuff I want to do.
Any shout outs?
Yeah the PAM massive! Also Sket, Mad, and all the toy fam, Jinx, Tee Fury (you lovely people) and everyone that makes me smile.

Same here. I "get" the Clockwork Orange reference, by why the skeleton, paint can and "BAM"? People will look at it with a biiiiiiig question mark on their faces. Might as well just get a real Clockwork Orange shirt.

People don't have to "get" it... if you like the design, buy it. Wear it. Do it.

I don't get it and I don't like it so I won't be wearing it 'cause I ain't gonna buy it. Not gonna do it.
