Whether or not they were clones depends on the time period. Toward the time of the original trilogy the clones began to thin out as they began to recruit more people in their ranks instead of using clones. Though it is unknown exactly what the percentage of clones/recruits was exactly. They did also start using other DNA sources than Jango's however.

No, the storm troopers are clones of Jengo Fette, too. They changed the armor of the troopers over time.

that would mean the troopers are 50 years old. lol they used to be clones, THEN they enlisted anyone who was willing to join the empire after the clones either died, or retired. hence why this tee is a little weird.

Technically Stormtroopers aren't all clones (few are) and that's based on the fan sculpted FX helmet which is very inaccurate, but it's still a must buy! KHAAAAAAAN you, teefury! That's 3 shirts this week!

It kind of reminds me of some of the storm troopers from that jungle plant Yoda was on in episode 3. I'm not enough of a fan to buy this. Good shout out. I've still yet to see the whole movie, but I know that line. lol.

Some stormtroopers were regular people, but I believe that a significant amount of clones left over from the Clone Wars were rolled into the Stormtrooper units. Wookiepedia would prolly have a huge article on this.

Um, no. They were always clones, but once the empire came about..and probably because George Lucas was bored, he changed up the helmets for the clone wars. The more specific clones were supposed to resemble Jango Fett more than just another soldier.

OMGosh! Shut up about the wording on the helmet already!! GEESH!!!

Have you no clue that just maybe this is an homage to a Vietnam helmet? or the one on the poster for Full Metal Jacket? The Vietnam helmet is what I clued into immediately. But I guess I am showing my age when I know a little more history than which helmet a particular Trooper wore during which movie.

Spend a little time reading history of the world.

I am a huge STAR WARS fan. No doubting that but why oh why do you people constantly criticize the artist for not interpreting things YOUR way?? You all make yourselves look childish for your continued whining about how it's not "perfect". So what? Is your day going to be ruined to the point of you no longer can exist because this shirt is not to your exact liking?

Do some research on other possibilities. It's not really all just about STAR WARS.

Allow me to bust out my Star Wars nerd skills on you. Official continuity declares that Stormtroopers were a combination of clones, conscipts, and volunteers. So, it is entirely possible that you would have a Stormtrooper who was also a clone.

Thank you StripeyMcD, I love how people got their own interpretation for this design.
I wanted to see how would an Imperial (or Republic) Trooper's helmet would've looked if he had the same personality as Pvt. Joker (marvelously interpreted by Matthew Modine) and wanted to show the very same 'duality' of man (Born to Kill and the peace sign). But I think in this case Vader would've just psycokinetcly broke this guys neck if he'd ever encountered him in the battle field 8D

Funny, but ultimately two things I wouldn't compare. Neither Star Wars (Especially not the prequels.. ugh) vs. Full Metal Jacket, nor the Clone Wars vs. Vietnam. Quite clever for a pop culture shirt, though. I do appreciate that. :)

congrats on the print, D4NI3L! your art is fantastic, and i am in love with the side art, that zebra is wonderful. i am not a huge Star Wars fan, and i am not quite getting the connection, tho i do understand it. and even though my mind is usually not in the gutter and i don't try to find those kind of things, i see the kirk, i see it.

Tell us about your design:
I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan and I love each and every character of this story. My personal favorite of all times is the misunderstood and under appreciated Stormtroopers. I find this character to be quite interesting. A couple of months ago I watched (for the third time) Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket" and thought about this particular dialog of the movie:

Pogue Colonel: You write "Born to Kill" on your helmet and you wear a peace button. What's that supposed to be, some kind of sick joke?
Private Joker: No, sir.
Pogue Colonel: You'd better get your head and your a** wired together, or I will take a giant sh*t on you.
Private Joker: Yes, sir.
Pogue Colonel: Now answer my question or you'll be standing tall before the man.
Private Joker: I think I was trying to suggest something about the duality of man, sir.
Pogue Colonel: The what?
Private Joker: The duality of man. The Jungian thing, sir.

So I thought "what if a cloned/mass produced being also has this thoughts on the duality of his existence?" and this is what came out.

Tell us about yourself:
Bolivian, designer, married two kids one in the oven (due in December :oD) Loves my wife and kids, loves music ans absoeffingluetly LOVE designing.

Where are you located?
Cochabamba, Bolivia. Just in case you wonder, my country is located in the exact heart of South America, our closest neighbours are Brasil, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru.

What's a day in the life of Daniel like?
right now just the usual, by day I'm a 7:30 to 4:30 graphic designer and by nights I become D4N13L, a giant color marker who fights his nemesis, the evil Dr. Mono Chromos who wants to take the color off of the world and reign in grayscaled chaos. So for I've doing good :)

What other interests do you have?
My main interest is to find out the meaning of life and what does a double (almost triple) rainbow means (???)

If you could go only to one restaurant for the next five years, which
would it be?
My wife and I love a roasted chicken here, the name of the place is "El Pollito Popular" (The Popular Little Chicken), they have most delicious home-made mayonnaise of the entire galaxy!

What do you like to do for fun?
I like chasing cars the thing is I don't really know what to do with them once I get them. And of course there's always a good movie with some ice cream, just chilling with the wifey.

Have you ever had to get stitches? Any battle scars?
Once I cut my knee when I was like 12 and got 5 stitches and there are, of course all my battle scars from my evil fighting adventures, Dr. Mono Chromos doesn't play fair at all.

What was your first printed commercial piece of artwork?
"Guntree" those awesome guys at Design By Hümans did it. Actually it's been reprinted and available here

What skills do you think one should have to be a good tshirt designer?
I don't really know, I think my strategy is to think whatever I would like to wear and people would go "wow, that's a cool shirt!". My advice, just go crazy.

Tell us about your favorite food.
Pique Macho, I don't really know there's a translation for that. It consists of chopped roasted meat, chopped roasted sausage, big chunks of fried potatoes, boiled eggs, a couple of sliced tomatos and onions and a LOT of the hottest chilies one can find. Yummy, yummy in my tummy! (I'm hungry now)

MAC or PC?
I can use both, LOVES MAC I would have one if I could afford one :'( PCs do have their things and work as well as MACs but MAC it's just MAC.

Recommend a product:
Samsung 22" LCD monitor, Wacom tablets and the Barret .50cal tactical sniper rifle (you never know when the Zombie Apocalypse can come and I'd rather be prepared than have mine and my family's brains eaten)
