    meow I think this might be a miss overall. I recognized Astro right off the bat but the relevance of the image overall I didn't get until after I read everything about it.

    The color of the shirt though is nice. I love to see something besides black or white :)

    Haha didn't notice it until I read your comment, now I can't look it with a straight face.

    Nice design, but too much Astro and not enough Castro for my liking, I didn't get the Castro reference until after reading. Probably should've left out the bone and stuck with a cigar.

    I love Fidel Castro and I'm American. You should probably read some of his speeches and book about Cuba. They are very different than the propaganda shoveled out by the U.S. Not saying he is a saint but read-up on this stuff before blurting out stuff.

    Also this shirt rocks my socks. Love the color and the art is very nice :D

    The idea of Astro on a shirt is "kind of" cute. However, the only way I could wear even the animated likeness, or a K-9 hybrid of a dictator would be if the Jerk were behind bars and the people of that nation now had freedom.
    Just saying.
    The artistic "talent" IS appreciated...just not the subject.

    It's a cartoon dog disguised as Castro. Named astro. It's a play on words, not a political statement. Besides hipsters wear Che guevara shirts all the time.

    I'm guessing that K is for K-9, the Doggy Dictator. This image, cartoon as it is, speaks volumes. However, it is still an image that represents a Dictator. I cannot support ANY image of a Dictator, short of a photo showing that person being taken down for the freedom of that nations people. Freedom must reign.

Could serve as a comment on anachronistic figure, also could be perceived as a kind of vulture, extracting the last bit of sustenance from a doomed social construct. But the bone does look highly phallic, I could see someone getting beat up for wearing this shirt.

    Exactly!! The well-oiled US propaganda machine has a Ph.D. in spin-doctoring.

    Most of the world thought that the previous president was a complete idiot and his approval rating got to an all-time-low for ALL presidents with @ 28% and yet millions of people still go there to visit each year. So the leader is obviously not a deterrent when it comes to a choice for vacations.

    Don't hate Cuba or Castro because of the spin-doctoring the US media has shoved down our throats since The Bay of Pigs. Make up your own mind after doing research and talking to people who've been there.

    The Jetson's dog as a dictator is hilarious!! It's a parody. It's funny. Lighten up and just giggle or move along. No reason to bash the artist for their art work. Imagine Astro talking to his people with his goofy attitude and that bone in his mouth. Makes me smile & giggle.

    How about the Chairman Meow shirt? Did you rag about that one too? It's a tee shirt. Don't like? Don't buy it. Don't beat up the artist for their vision. SUBMIT YOUR OWN IDEA for a shirt then. See how many people like it or not. See if you can have your art work criticized and ragged about for a whole day. See if you like it. Then maybe you'll realize that it's better to not say anything at all some times.

    The "freedom must reign" statement made me laugh. Please. Don't act like you have so much freedom in the States. You have less than you think.

    i understand the Castro Astro thing going on, but it is still a very random hybrid. it just confuses me, and muddles the artwork a little.
    i think the bone cigar is no big deal, really.
    Altogether, the execution is fabulous, and i love the linework and the colors. Sideart is fantastic as well.

    oh my. teefury should just start making shirts with different varieties of flowers on them and then we could keep the offensiveness down. that would be a great idea. no one gets beat up for flowers. give us a break, ugh. at least you have something interestesting to look at for 24 hours.
