The world needs the Harvey Pekar t-shirt... please if you have a soul. Make this happen, it doesn't even need to be the whole day. Give me the 5 minutes to order it, I'll be happy! (send me an email first so I know :D)
OMG PLEASEE PRINT HARVEY PEKAR SHIRT . . . where is my american splendor in a world that's cloudy and gray . . . it lies right there, in that tee shirt =)
I feel like I'm obligated to get this shirt, as a BSG fan with no BSG shirts. I can wear it without too much judgement, as I'm a chick (and I don't "look like a nerd", or whatever dumb people say), but, I mean. It's so simple. And I'm really picky with my shirts. If it's not, like, orgasmically brilliant, I generally don't buy. :/
Lately I've only been buying shirts off of Teefury when, the first time I see the shirt, I think, "I cannot live without that shirt." Unfortunately, that is not what I thought when looking at the shirt. I like the premise, The slogan, the fact that it is Battlestar Galactica, but I just feel like something is missing. If I had extra money lying around, then I would probably snatch this up, but since it didn't speak to me in the way I hoped, I will have to pass.
What I would buy in an instant is a shirt that has the Back to the Future sideart on it :D
i am a huge battlestar fan. that being said, this shirt is in no way a buy for me. it's actually a real let down. when i saw the teazer, i was hoping for so much more...
Greygor said: The Design looks like it has been badly photo-shopped onto a grey shirt.
Just to clarify, every shirt image we show here is Photoshopped. Because we sell limited edition shirts, we don't print anything until all the sales are collected. The images above are meant to give you a good idea of how the design will be printed, but it's never an actual photo of the finished product :)
Great Scott!!! Print Back To The Future... I'd even wear this on pink!!! er, maybe not.
Funny quick story: I have a young friend that is training to be an appliance repairman...he went in on a simple job, by himself...found the part that needed to be replaced...customer asked him what it was...he couldn't think of the NAME of the part...so he said "Its the Flux Capacitor"... The customer (who was an older lady) said "Do you have a replacement flux capacitor with you?", just as his trainer was walking into the house...The trainer quickly said, "I think we have one out in the DeLorean."
Why does it have to have the black-box background? This would have been an instant buy for myself, but the design just looks terrible to me. I understand trying to tie in the octagonal paper used in the series, but still...
O-M-G! i never thought i'd see the day... when my husband and i were dating he made me watch every single campy episode of battlestar galactica. he also proceeded to tell me how when he was a kid he was terrified of the cylons. yes, all of this won me over and i said "i do" to my real life version of starbuck. now you've given me the perfect gift to commemorate our unique, yet odd love affair.
It's comforting to see that my response to seeing a Back To The Future print for a potential shirt...a squeal of joy with a bit of drool mixed in....isn't, ummmm....strange. :o)))
PS: If that were printed I would have to buy 3....geek runs in the family and yup, I bought 3 "Constant" shirts.
I don't know if I like the design itself, with the black on grey, but I love the concept. I'm a BSG fan from way back. I would also kill for a shirt that says "Fracking Toasters", with a cylon/toaster hybrid. Just throwing it out there. :)
If I were a Battlestar Galactica fan, I'd totally get this! It's still pretty awesome, though!! The Back to the Future one would be an instant buy for me! Awesome stuff!!
Me too I want the "I drive at 88 mph...just in case". I'll wear it while I blast Danger Zone...just in case, too. I'm getting the cylons shirt, too. Nobody calls us toasters and lives to tell the tale!
I LOVE Battlestar (recently got one of my QMx propaganda posters signed by Richard 'Tom Zarek' Hatch at the Vegas Trek Con), but I'm not sold on this design. Too big and too pro Cylon.
Anteela said: I would also kill for a shirt that says "Fracking Toasters", with a cylon/toaster hybrid.
Do a google search for "Frakkin Toaster shirt". There are a couple of styles out there.
Hmm. I only found 1 and it wasn't quite what I was looking for. Ah, well. Maybe the Teefury gods will smile on me and give me another BSG related shirt in the next year.

I feel the same way. I was so interested when I saw the teaser. I love the cylon, but feel that the statement is too generic to be excited for.
So I posted a comment on here early this morning simply stating the shirt was not my style. It was like one of the top 5 comments. Then posted that I liked the Back to the Future side art........So can anyone tell me why my post about the side art is still there but my comment about me not liking the shirt has magically vanished?

Interesting!!
TeeFury's posting rules require that if you comment that you don't like the shirt, you need to give a reason why. Constructive criticism instead of just saying "No" or "meow." It makes the page a lot more interesting and a lot more friendly.
Tell us about yourself:
I'm constantly torn between wanting to live simply off the land like Christopher McCandless in Into The Wild (except without the dying of starvation part) and wanting to be Robocop (except without the getting shot to bits part).
Where are you located?
At the moment I'm living in a small town in Staffordshire which is right in the middle of England. But hopefully one day I'll live somewhere sunny by the sea.
What's a day in the life of Lee like?
Well at the moment I tend to get up, wonder why it's not the weekend already, then head to work. Get home, do some drawing, a bit of freelance work, answer emails and mooch about the internet. Then just watch a bit of tv, The World Cup being on at the moment is keeping me busy tv wise. That actually looks really boring when it's written down! I'm much more exciting than it sounds… Honest.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
"I have nothing to declare but my genius."
If you could go only to one restaurant for the next five years, which would it be?
Coast in Lamai Beach, Koh Samui, Thailand. If anyone reading this ever goes to Koh Samui you really have to go, it's awesome. Plus if I went there everyday for 5 years I'd be in Thailand for 5 years. Sweet.
How did you get your start in art?
I won a colouring competition when I was about 4 or 5. We had to colour in a marathon runner for some reason. My little artistic touch of sweat beads running down his forehead clinched it for me. I think it was then I realised I was creative and I've never really changed my mind since.
If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?
Probably travel… A lot. I travelled around the world for 10 months last year and it was the most amazing thing I've ever done. I also did it on a lot less than $1,000,000 but still had plenty of fun… So just think of the fun I could have had with all that money. That one night in Vegas would've been a whole lot messier for a start!
What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
"Be a filter not a sponge." A little literary reference for the bookworms out there. Other than that I think just enjoy and love what you're doing. It's the same as anything, if you're not enjoying it then why are you doing it?
Also take advantage of the freedom that college or university give you. When you get into the "real world" you will no doubt end up designing a lot of things you think are boring. Uni is a great place to explore the art and design that you actually like and push projects that would never get commissioned in reality.
MAC or PC?
Every time I'm forced to use Windows I feel like a little piece of my soul dies forever. Mr Jobs, feel free to quote me on that, oh and you can send me an ipad while you're at it if you like.
What are a few of your favorite websites?
Well this is where the internet is getting a little too clever for it's own good. I've started using Bloglovin' to follow all my arty type websites. So I struggle to remember all of my favourites. I used to like FFFFOUND a lot, but it seems to have been watered down a bit lately, It's sort of turned into tumblr which is weird and I'm not sure why it happened. It's strange but all the design blogs I like seem to merge into one these days as they all post much of the same stuff.
I think the one website I use the most is the BBC.co.uk. I think I'd be lost without it.
Any shout outs?
Thanks to everyone who follows my work and sends me positive (and sometimes negative) emails and things. A big thanks to all the cool artists and designers I've met through sites like Flickr too, they're a constant source of inspiration. Cheers to topherchris of Tumblr for the interview (and massive exposure) the other day. And thanks to all my friends and family too, the world would suck without you!

And if it's not photo-shopped that's not a good sign.
This would have looked so much better on a Black shirt.
I'll definitely pass on this one.
