Words from curator:
Epic right? :)
Tell us about this design:
Milton Glaser's famous rebus and it's original ideals have been adopted, mass produced and distorted to serve many different purposes across the world. I felt there was an underlying message in this work that was much more important than the object of affection. Love.
What's a day in the life of Elliot like?
8 am. Phone alarm. Shower. Music + Bicycle. Fabrica (www.fabrica.it). E-mails. Tumblr. Coffee. Illustrator. InDesign. E-mails. Lunch (if I'm lucky – pasta alla carbonara). Coffee. Photoshop. InDesign. E-mails. Meeting. Drawing. Scan. InDesign. PDF. E-mails. Apple. InDesign. Coffee. Illustrator. PDF. E-mails. Podcast + Bicycle. Kitchen. Book. Unconscious.
How did you get your start in art?
I can't claim a specific climactic event has led me onto my current trajectory, but my commitment to the craft was solidified in late high school, upon the realisation that creatively expressing my own ideas across varied media, provided the opportunity to communicate, tell stories and produce tangible experiences for other people.
What inspires you?
At an essential level – people. The shared experience of being human – co-existence with others in society, the endless mission of survival through defining and projecting ourselves, whilst navigating the world through social interaction, the act of self invention and the constant burden of interpretation.
What's your art process like, from initial sketch to finished product?
Question. Research. Question. Research. Repeat until a clear goal and medium is defined – then get out the pens and pencils. Create more solutions than you need, select the best, then refine, present, test and repeat until satisfaction is achieved.
What would the you of now, tell the you of 10 years ago?
Learn how to cook and speak French.
What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
Regardless of the form, every new work is an opportunity, use it – experiment and challenge yourself – someone else is paying you to do it.
MAC or PC?
Mac.
Any shout outs?

"I heart " without the period/full stop. The meaning is still the same, plus it adds a funny wtf interpretation like the subject had been accidentally left off.

I can walk around the streets and know it's not something that is common and that everyone is wearing. I've had people ask me where I get my shirts and even kids pointing and staring at some of the designs (that's a good thing).
This just seems like something anyone with any type of graphics knowledge can put together on a "custom tee creator". It's not BAD, but it isn't creative either =/ I just expected more......
