Maybe if someone would explain it to me I would buy it...

Artist is saying to love, period. always be loving.
  • sncitysaid 86 weeks ago

I thought it meant like I love. Like normally every other shirt says I love blah blah blah but this just says I love like you love everything it's not limited to just one thing. Good shirt requires a couple seconds of thought though other wise you'll probably misinterpret it.
  • lat1nb1azesaid 86 weeks ago

kinda like the apple ad spin offs , iLove , would be the example in this case
  • xkatexsaid 86 weeks ago

  • yosaffbridgesaid 86 weeks ago

I get it. I think it might play better had the design been simply:

"I heart " without the period/full stop. The meaning is still the same, plus it adds a funny wtf interpretation like the subject had been accidentally left off.
  • HankBuffalosaid 86 weeks ago

it should say "tampax" on it
  • Brash Attacksaid 86 weeks ago

I think this would have been more effective without the punctuation.
  • Bassanimationsaid 86 weeks ago

Uh oh. Minus the period this would have been cute... But, it's also cute with the period. Just people with guttery minds *likemecough* might giggle...

  • snarkygalsaid 86 weeks ago

I believe I read on another site that NY has a trademark on the I heart thing. Doesn't matter what comes after it, they own it.
  • BizarroGsaid 86 weeks ago

Oh, I'd also like to add that this is too simple of a design....it isn't really something that you wouldn't see anywhere else. What I like most about Teefury shirts are their originality.

I can walk around the streets and know it's not something that is common and that everyone is wearing. I've had people ask me where I get my shirts and even kids pointing and staring at some of the designs (that's a good thing).

This just seems like something anyone with any type of graphics knowledge can put together on a "custom tee creator". It's not BAD, but it isn't creative either =/ I just expected more......
  • Battlefoxessaid 86 weeks ago

  • PaperDollsaid 86 weeks ago

I would prefer that the tee have a little more artistic creativity. I love buying t-shirts that look hand drawn and this isn't really doing it for me. I could do this exact thing with iron on letters. I do like the artist's style in the side art though. :)

  • LTCANCELsaid 86 weeks ago

if you are going to do something that is not completly original then you must execute it well and I don't think that was done for this shirt. I understand the whole I love with out naming something else but there is no originality and nothing interesting about it. I'd rather wear a shirt with the kid picking his nose, that would be funny and interesting.

  • TracyTeesaid 86 weeks ago

I do like the very simple design and universal message, by the way. A lot of tees on here get very complex and specific and, frankly, I have no idea what they are about. I haven't watched Lost since the first season and I haven't played video games in quite a few years; though it wouldn't matter because Ms. Pac Man still kicks a**. That's right, kids. I'm warming up my Super Nintendo as we speak.
  • theshadowcloaksaid 86 weeks ago

This shirt would've conveyed the same idea if the period were removed and the text offset by square brackets to make it look like it intentionally only said "I love." Oh well.
  • landfieldjcsaid 86 weeks ago

snarkygal said: I believe I read on another site that NY has a trademark on the I heart thing. Doesn't matter what comes after it, they own it.

    I don't think that's really true.

    Also: I like it.
    It's not saying, "I love periods." It's saying, "I love PERIOD" as in I love. . . I don't hate, I love because it's how I am.

If I hadn't spent my monthly tee shirt budget on the grab bag I'd totally get one.

    Aw, I "love" it.

Although, I think it would be better if it didn't have the period. I get that it's saying "I love. End of story, period." But, as the comments above me have noted, some people will take it - or mock it - by saying it means "I love periods".

If it didn't have the period I would buy it in a "heart"beat.

I can see what Elliott Burford was trying to do by using Milton Glaser's iconic advertising logo to promote 'Love' and doing so is a very aspiring ideal, but I think it falls short as too many people associate it with 'Loving Something', whether that's NY, London, Your Mum, whatever.

I won't be purchasing this shirt Elliott, but all the best with any future designs you submit to Teefury.

  • landfieldjcsaid 86 weeks ago

Sometimes the best art work to describe the subject is the most simplistic.

I feel this is that exact moment.
For instance, if it had a hello kitty inside the heart it would read as "I love hello kitty," while if it had "x"s all over the heart it would read as, "I love 'ex's," as odd as that would be.

I think it's fun to read peoples' comments who have obviously not read the words of the artist, kind of like looking through a looking glass into a barrel of drunken monkeys filled with chainsaws.

I'm not knocking the message, I in fact "love" but I don't love simple and mundane shirts with stupid messages and lackluster design. There have been too many lately. I hated the "Super Dad" shirt and the "Today is a good day" shirt as well. Step your game up Tee Fury.

    That makes absolutely no sense.
You can't please everyone all of the time. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

I like the message, but the design is just not there.

I know it is supposed to be simple, and it was a great idea back when Milton Glaser did it like 35 years ago but now it is terribly cliché and the visual message has been muddied by decades of appropriation and imitation.

i don't love my g/f's period...its usually when I tend to get yelled at so this shirt would just depress me to wear, thus no buy

I can understand the artistic value of it in "I Love"...but I'll never see it for anything other than "I Love Periods"

    immature? maybe. Honest? yes.

    maybe tomorrow TeeFury :)

  • voiceofavengersaid 86 weeks ago

Wow - is there an entire generation that us so used to abbreviated writing that using actual punctuation, as a graphic representation of a phrase (ie: "I'm done - period), is confusing? Wow. I like the simplicity and the underlying comment - got it immediately. Of course, I'm old, so my tastes are probably very uncool.
  • blythechildsaid 86 weeks ago

I love the simplicity of this and the message behind it, which is so important (and more than a few regulars on this site could benefit from a refresher course in it). But after reading the threads here I now see the "I love period(s)" thing, and as a woman, I can't wear that across my chest - no woman loves their period. I should just stop reading the opinions here...

Can't stand white shirts, don't love periods either, sorry.
Maybe it has potential for someone who collect pinback buttons, pin one with tacos on it on the period then its like "I heart tacos"
  • firecoral417said 86 weeks ago

    I love.

  • moviecraz13said 86 weeks ago

I think this is great and unlike some other people here I wasn't confused in the leat bit. WHY would it mean I love periods??!! Come on! Don't be stupid. It's simple and sweet and anyone could wear it because of it's simplicity. I am totally getting this. Some people are just TOO picky. If you don't like a shirt then don't buy it. It's that simple. :)
  • Gazeebosaid 86 weeks ago

I read this as "I love period". not a message a want to convey, lol
  • RevChucksaid 86 weeks ago

I thought it said, "I love black balls"

Which is also weird now that I think about it....
  • DwDunphysaid 86 weeks ago

The shirt is not my thing, but it's nice. A good sentiment. For anyone fretting about those shirt designs that don't live up to your expectations, think of it more as giving your PayPal account a breather - not that you're being denied.

Thank you!! Although sadly, in high school, "I love periods" is exactly what people would read it as, so I wouldn't be able to wear it there... ;)
  • Zomnivoresaid 86 weeks ago

I think it could be a nice shirt, but sorta not in the market for simple art, this feels too easy, and the message is easy to misunderstand and that coupled with the simple design is a no sale for me.

I don't want to have to explain a shirt, or look like a creep.
  • Catterwallsaid 86 weeks ago

I'm sorry but this is the worst design I've ever seen on this site. This just doesn't seem to be very original or creative. I come to this site looking for new and unique art. I just don't get that from this one. Sorry
  • moarboar8907said 86 weeks ago

    it simply means i love.
  • Chihuahuasaid 86 weeks ago

I love it, it's not about loving anything in particular, but of the act of loving. It's not the artwork that's supposed to be impressive here, it's the message. The message of being a good person and wanting to spread good will. I would love to get it but it seems most people would be way too immature about it and look at it the wrong way. Which is really too bad.

That error often means that your Paypal transaction has timed out. To get around it, try using a different web browser. If that doesn't work, please contact service@teefury.com
