Teefury, great job for featuring something different. Castle is an amazing artist. What he does isn't easy and this is totally worth the money. Composition, color, the fact that he can draw etc...In my book, this is a great design/shirt. Walmart my arse!

I agree with the other posters...please print the sugar skull woman with the snake! I'd get one for myself and also for a friend of mine. Beautiful artwork. Today's design is also super sweet, but doesn't wow me like some of the other side arts...if I had more moolah to spend, I'd consider getting it, but it's not quiiiite worth it for me. Still very cool though.

William Castle little known?! William Castle was a titan of schlock! I ADORE William Castle! "The Tingler" has one of the most brilliant uses of breaking the fourth wall I've ever seen. Other than that, it's not super-good (these are low-budget B movies, after all), but it also features Vincent Price and the first acid trip sequence used in a movie. Seriously, though; your great-grandfather was an amazingly inventive film maker.

I love the colors here, wish TeeFury would do more...but this just isn't my style, good art work though.

Now that I'm not on dreaded phone-internet...

Both the style and execution are spot on with the cigar-box aesthetic, though her right iris looks a smidgen too cornered/small in proportion with the other.

Not purchasing because it's not my clothing style, but I'd love the Elvis Frankenstein on your site if it were a shirt!

Though the art work in very well done, this shirt offends me as I'm now a non-smoker. It would be against my way of life to wear a shirt that I think promotes smoking.

The side art is amazing though! Wish it was one of those.

I don't know I think I'd like it more if it was burned into the side of a piece of wood... for a cigar box... and I was then storing my cigars in said special made cigarbox.... while enjoying a cigar... while looking at my cigar box...

I think people with cigars wear either suits or flowered shirts, but not cigar shirts... although maybe old fishermen might be the type to wear this and smoke a cigar...

As a Cuban with dark hair, dark eyes, and a perma-tan, BROWN shirts are a no-go. I like the intricate design, but I won't promote smoking and I also don't like wearing fake brands. I like a lot about this shirt, but the final product doesn't get my dollar bills. Like the skeleton/snake art (as long as it's not on a brown shirt).

I've been on teefury multiple times and have always promoted myself. I don't think its disrespectful, i'm not trying to push people to a competing site. I'm just promoting myslef. I am really thankful for what teefury has done for me and I would never want to doing anything that would be disrespectful. I'd remove that comment in a heartbeat if I thought It was hurting teefury. And I bet teefury would remove it as well, which i would welcome. Anyway really do hope I'm not appearing to be disrespectful. Once again thanks for all the comments and feedback!

The site is set up to help artists out IMO, they don't take the rights to the art etc, just exclusivity for the day, and the dollar per sale, and posting the portfolio, is to help pay back the artist, putting them out there.

The more shirts a single design pushes, the more they make, and the more they make the more win they get to divide into tasty pieces of bacon.

I love castle's art, I have more shirts from him than any other artist. In fact I was just wearing one of his shirts yesterday. If Teefury cared, they wouldn't print him or would tell him to stop or remove the link. He has been on Teefury so many times, now I could see if he were posting that when it wasn't his tee being sold, but its his tee, side art and all the rest. I think people saw "If you don't like this tee" and assumed castle was trying to redirect buyers to his site, but either way, if the person wasn't going to buy this shirt in the first place, what harm is it redirecting them to your site, to maybe purchase something they do like?

I've been on teefury multiple times and have always promoted myself. I don't think its disrespectful, i'm not trying to push people to a competing site. I'm just promoting myslef. First off , congrats on the stack o cakes. Second , The art work is great and very detailed. I do believe the chick looks a lot like Zoe from Firefly which is awesome. Browncoat/Brownshirt... I think your love of Firefly has seeped into your subconscious.\ The only thing I have negative to say is I don’t promote smoking, its fine if someone wants to I just don’t want to be a walking ad .
Lastly I think it is wonderful how many times you posted to some of the commenter’s on here. It shows you care about your work and you stand behind it...or in it if you are wearing it.

Hey thanks for your continued support! It means a lot to me to have folks that really dig my collection of work. I didn't wont to seem like a jerk by stating taht I've been on here quite a few times, I felt like it'd be bragging but, Teefury has always been cool with me promoting my tees. I have to agree I like the sugar skull girl side art, love it in fact, and this was almost an instant buy until I read the comments. Ive never seen an artist on here so argumentative with posters. Usually there are a few negative comments about every design, but the artists arent on here trying to make excuses for peoples opinions. Not everyone is going to like you, and some people are going to think it socks that you are promoting another tee site four comments into the shirt being up. There is a difference between being a not giving a smurf artist to trying to explain yourself to every naysayer. I guess Im sayin, let the art speak for itself.

My sister is right now at the moment I write this building a cigar box guitar. I think even non-smokers like myself can agree that the art surrounding cigars is pretty freaking awesome.

Tell us a bit about this design.
I'm a periodic cigar smoker myself, there is nothing like a good smoke and glass of bourbon. Also, I've always been a fan of the cigar box artwork, and wanted to do something like that. Cubans long been know to produce the fines cigars and being in America, they are not readily available. I have to rely on friends and family when traveling to sneak me in a few.

Where are you from?
I'm from Nashville Tennessee. Born and raised southerner.

If you could live in a castle, what kind of special features would you add to it?
If I had a castle, I'd definitely have to include a basement tavern. Stocked full of the rarest and finest boose. I'd also need a micro brewery in order to brew my own frankenstout. While I'm at it I'd probably include a fully stocked laboratory so I'd be able to animate the corpses of the dead. I think that'd cover it.

Do you watch the show Castle?

I haven't watched the show “Castle” but my family does have a history in cinema. My Great Grandfather, William Castle was a little know b-horror movie director. A little history of our last nam: Our original last name was Schloss, which means "Castle" in German. He changed it to Castle, because he was afraid that could offend some of the Jewish population in Hollywood.

Have you ever played the game Castle Crashers?

I haven't played Castle Crashers but there was actually a game called “The Punisher” which was based on the exploits of my Grandfathers first cousin, Franklin Castle. Franklin moved from his home town in Kentucky to New York City where he meet with tragedy. The story of his life inspired Gerry Conway of marvel comics to create a character based on his story.

When your name is Castle, does it make you more or less likely to draw castles?

I don't think that in its self discourage me from drawing castles, but for some subconscious reason I have yet todo any castle based designs. Why is that? I love Castles. Hell, its even my last name.

Who had the most awesome castle- the Queen of England, Cinderella, or Dracula?

Man, there are some great castle out there, Dracula's castle would be pretty awesome! Frankenstein Castle is pretty coool too. One the perfect stormy evening You can actually build monsters from flesh and broken bones. I also think Snow Whites Castle would be nice, You have mirrors there to tell you how great you are... not that I need that, I'm fully aware of my greatness.

What inspires your work?
I think everything inspires me. Certainly music as well as film. A lot times, when working on a particular project... say its some old turn of the century style elixir label, I through on some jazzy big band, throwback music like the squirrel nut zippers. If I'm working on a cult horror style poster design.... I'm gonna throw in some old mario bava movies. I can't go anywhere or do anything without being inspired one way or another.
