I dont really see how this is offensive? America has obesity problems which I dont even think this shirt is trying to address. It does look yummy though.
The robot is an instant buy if I ever see it around here. The fantasy die wraith is funny also

The design although decent is definitely not my style (go figure). Such a waste on a teefury day though as I'd have loved to see the 2nd or 3rd pic in the sideart instead which probably would have generated more sales. Same goes for that "Superdad" one a few weeks back...the artist had such good work that could have been put on a tee instead but settled for one of their less appealing works that is only for a certain group

best of luck on the sales though and hopefully we can see that 2nd or 3rd pic in the sideart printed out someday instead

Saying this is offensive is like saying "I don't drink. I can't support Germany being known for it's beer." /Please/. Great design, very clever. It describes a normal American breakfast well - the side art describing it moreso. Good job!
  • Hallucinogenicsaid 100 weeks ago

It's clever and all, and anything invoking Homer's classic drool-line is worth considering, but these days anything that even remotely smacks of "we're so freakin' awesome....USA! USA! USA!" just rubs me all kinds of the wrong way.

After eight dark, regressive, deeply disturbing and profoundly un-American years of Dubya, M.D., we now have President Hope making a mockery of his pre-election self by continuing (if not further pushing the envelope) most of the criminal activities instituted by King George (warrantless wiretapping, spying on Americans, drone attacks in undeclared war zones killing civilians, extraordinary rendition, Guantanamo Bay, Baghram Air Force Base, imprisoning people for years without any due process including the simple right to a trial or to, an endless war on terrorism to justify endless occupations and endless assertions of ever-expanding executive powers, to name a few, and even recently asserting that they have the right to assassinate an American abroad without any due process...no lie), and meanwhile we have a radically right-wing Supreme Court granting corporations the same rights as citizens (9 years after installing Bu$h in the White House) and overturning constitutional state campaign laws (Arizona's), and a Congress overflowing with self-serving hypocrites who sell out to corporations for campaign contributions abdicating the hard work of doing the right thing for all Americans in order to put the short-term political point-scoring needs of their political party first.

It's particularly rich hearing the jackasses in Congress talk about "the rule of law" who did nothing about Bu$h's illegal torture program (including torturing people to death) or other war crimes, who clearly believe that the rule of law doesn't apply to the very powerful or at least not to the heads of one's own political party.

Meanwhile corporate money rules the land under the watchful eye of the ever-expanding surveillance state, the rich are getting richer as always (thanks again George for those unprecedented wartime debt-mushrooming tax cuts for the rich. Of course, the same morons who repeatedly voted for those as well as an unfunded massive Medicare prescription drug expansion now bemoan the debt that Barack so self-evidently singlehandedly created and shake their tiny fists in the air while railing against the evils of stimulus spending to help right the economy for all Americans), the poor poorer, the middle class is shrinking, and America is overrun with hyper-consuming self-obsessed narcissists who would mow down every last tree on Earth to save their job, exterminate as many species as needed to postpone their death, and reduce the Earth to ashes to satisfy their every last whim.

Our politicians are infantile and unwilling to face facts, let alone do anything to address the many and very real problems facing our country and our species. Every tiny baby-step in the right direction is preceded by two steps backward and just a tease of a taste of progress for the American people is necessarily accompanied by wheelbarrows full of cash for our corporate overlords. But maybe we get the politicians we truly deserve since only a fraction of eligible voters actually register and vote, half of those people support and vote for political parties like they root for their local sports franchises, and get their "facts" from hyper-partisan sources who affirm their preconceptions and prejudices. These are the same kind of people who have never even been outside of the United States (if they've even been out of their own state), if they know anything about other countries it's distorted stereotypes, and yet they steadfastly proclaim with great regularity and ignorance fueled nationalist fervor how the United States is the greatest country on Earth (hell, who else has twice detonated nuclear weapons on major cities full of innocent civilians? America, f*** yeah!).

Does anyone really believe that America's best days are ahead of us smurf? We're clearly an empire that has spectacularly over-reached and is in decline. Most of our economy is based on our own grotesque over-consumption which is in turn dependent on cheaply produced goods built on the backs of exploited impoverished laborers and environmental degradation worldwide.

And how about that latest kick in the crotch that is like some kind of Groundhog Day nightmare from which it is impossible to awaken? Two straight months of tens of thousands of crude oil (chock full of carcinogens, teratogens, and compounds that damage DNA and cause mutations, and not the cool X-Men kind) spewing into the Gulf of Mexico with at least a couple months more. But let's not forget that our government is allowing the same jackasses responsible for this deadly ongoing catastrophe to "improve" the situation by pumping millions of gallons of dispersant of unknown chemical composition (because the formulation is proprietary, we the people don't have the right to know with what they are) further destroying the ecosystem and contaminating the entire food web.

But don't worry. Just bury your head in the sand, buy some overpriced shares of gold, switch to 8-oz. bottled water for all your hydration needs (morons), and keep polishing that turd.

Meanwhile, I'll have to pass on this shirt. I think I'll stick with my beloved Slayer shirt which seems more appropriate for our war-loving country, even if the bacon wonderfully represents our increasingly fat asses. The Slayer version of the American flag features "unknown soldier" style white crosses in the place of the stars and the red stripes consist of painted stripes of blood of the war casualties.

If you didn't realize we lost congress when they snuck in the constitutional little addendum which made corporations considered people, if you don't understand how congress is already bought, you might not understand American politics today, they don't Spock up because they're stupid they Spock up because they're paid by institutional flaws that allow them to be bought by lobbies and no one in the tea party is fighting them because the tea party is a red herring supported by corporations to distract the issues from media, giving media (a corporate institution that plays ball with corrupt whitehouse n congress) who are all to willing to pay attention to this "big" distraction, but besides that Progressives are gaining power, and I hope they win out before our nation fails.

Having served my country to defend your right to produce such things, I find this shirt offensive. However, I would serve again, fight, and die to protect your right to even Burn the American flag, while being sadly disappointed that you would disrespect the most recognizable Symbol of Our Nation.

As an american fighting to stay healthy, watching people around me becoming more and more obese, and listening to the rest of the world say how fat, spoiled, and lazy the US is, I find this shirt to be disappointing. There are SO many other possible choices that would be just as clever or comical.

I really appreciate your artistic talent. Yet, still I find the choice of a waffel and bacon to be a bad choice. Not only is bacon a not-so-healthy food, but consider this. Who of what religious backgrounds would find this shirt to be an insultive appropriate description of americans according to thier beliefs. (Infidel Pigs) I don't agree with that belief, but when you consider that there are plently of non-extremist types who want to embrace this nation yet hold onto thier religious convictions that would find this design to be disrespectful, disgusting, and discouraging, you could then see how many others would find this design to be bad.

You have every right in this Free Nation of ours to create what you like. I don't hate the design or the designer, just think it could have been so much better. I would expect to find such a shirt in a "Spencers" store, but not on Teefury. I am disappointed.

Clever shirt, kinda fun. I am kind of confused as to why people are actually offended by this. Veterans (of which I am one): we all effin' love America and appreciate what you do/have done. Vegetarians (of which I am one): the artist is also a veghead and wearing a shirt with bacon does not make you a carnivore.

Good luck with the sales on this shirt & I hope you all have a wonderful (unoffensive) day.

Omg, fantastic shirt!! I remember it on the side art as well and couldn't wait for it to come out. Bc I mean really people, who doesn't appreciate bacon?? And America?? Bought! Finally found my July 4th outing shirt, thank you zom-bot and keep them coming!

    Great background colour.

Shoosh! Disappointed I missed out on the illuminati shirt!

    - Most respectfully presented to those who care to read:

Desecration of our national flag aside, the artist wouldn't have made this design if there hadn't been cause. Our gluttony as Americans - in the kitchen and beyond - provides ample fodder for folks like Mr. Pitts.

Muslims & vegetarians: offended because it's bacon? This shirt is a direct stab at America's sorry eating habits as a culture (or so it reads that way to me). It's closer to being on YOUR side, not theirs!

Flag idolizers: At least this is designed & printed in the USA. I'm willing to bet more than half the "proper" flags you've got plastered around your living space were made overseas by hungry children. Quit whining on a commercial t-shirt site, get up and be proactive in helping to make this nation something we can ALL be proud of. And that means things like helping out your flag-hating neighbors, teaching street urchins to read, and other positive carp that makes our hearts melt.

Fighting for the nation, while courageous, honorable, and appreciated, still doesn't contribute enough. So you sacrificed a lot - but that period in your life is not some sort of free pass to just relax and play the "veteran card" for the rest of your days. We all owe more to each other, as a community, than most of us will ever be able to fit into one lifespan. I do too.

(Desperately hoping the Tee-Fury shirts are made at a mill in the US... Mine are buried under a 5' laundry heap, and I'm too busy spoon-feeding crippled orphans to check)

Bacon goes with everything. I put it on burgers, sandwiches, salads...
Move over sprinkles, ice cream has a new favorite topping!
  • bogwitchsaid 100 weeks ago

And veterans - THANK YOU, regardless - my whining and carping does not mean that I don't appreciate the sweat and tears you've laid out for the US.

As for as the bacon, I am Jewish too (but not religious or not to mention kosher --its not my thing) so bring on the bacon, ham and sausage and keep it coming because this shirt is brilliant. I haven't been around in a while, but I came to check out all the shirts I've missed the past 4-6 months.... Still no beef? That seems to be a hugely important piece of the site. I mean if people can't come on and see what this site is about, and get a general idea of the shirts this site puts up, by say, looking at the past 2-3 months of shirts... I mean, people would get really excited over what could be coming up in the future, by looking through past shirts. Maybe the beef is hidden somewhere, but last time I was on it had just vanished and was supposed to come back.

Just my two cents, I mean coming from someone who has been off for so long, the only thing I wanted to do was kick myself for missing all the great shirts, but now I have no idea what great shirts I missed, and thus have no motivation to check the site. Love ist gut!

What a sad commentary for this country, and this world, when intelligent people cannot simply disagree, but must insult others of differing opinions. “If you don’t agree with ME, YOU must be brain-washed.” I don’t like this design for reasons expressed and you like if for reasons expressed. Is that not enough? You have the freedom to speak WHAT EVER you like, but do you have to express it with such a childish school yard attitude? I’m glad people like the shirt. I like the artist’s talent. I just don’t like this particular shirt. The forum is open for opinion, not for insults. And No, I did not say YOU were childish, but that your comment was childish. There is a difference. If you ever want respect for your opinion, try showing some for one not your own.

anyone that is offended by a shirt needs to grow the f up. when did everyone become such wussies? i mean is it the meat that offends? is it the fact the flag of an obese nation is turned to food? i don't get it. what about a death style America shirt that reads Amerikill, and it has skull stars and blood stripes,,, actually that would be some playa shiz. hook it up someone. look, this planet is crazy messed up, people going to war with lies, systematic killings all over the world, the ocean is dying, economic slavery, a media corporation that really controls and misinforms the masses, fake science on global warming so they can tax CO2, a pharmaceutical, energy, and banking community that wants to own you, take everything you earn and then kill you with bunk medicine, and you people are crying over a shirt.

Past shirt designs can currently be seen on our Facebook page :)

We've been making changes to the code to prepare the site for TeeFury 2.0, and those changes led to some major errors in the beef. Since our programmers are focused on the new version of the site, it doesn't make sense for them to go back and fix the beef. We're hoping to have the new site prepared soon!

In the 10 months i've been coming here, this is THE funniest page of comments i've ever seen. Love love love the parodies.

It's hard to respect someones opinion when your opening line is "rawrrr, as a veteran". I find that incredibly condecending as someone who is neither a supporter of war or an american (okay, i'm half and half with being british.Fat with bad teeth har har)because you automatically give the impression that you get a free pass because you're a hero.

Anywhooo, enough polotickin', this shirt rules =D

Nice design, but it should have been a blueberry waffle. The lack of blue kind of throws me off, since the artist was going for an American flag design.
  • memyselfandinsanesaid 100 weeks ago

Does anyone bother to read the interviews on the side...? Seriously.... A lot of questions people ask and issues people have with pretty much every single shirt would be solved if they just bothered to take less than a minute to read what the artist has to say.

Anyone who finds this offensive is a silly person who needs to lighten up a bit. =P This shirt ties into so many ideas that it makes it a pretty cool, simple design that says a lot. Most of the ideas have been stated before or by the artist.

Also, those of you who are offended because you are a vegetarian, do you realize that the person who made this shirt is also a vegetarian...? No, you don't, because you didn't bother to read the interview on the side.

C'mon guys, it's a really awesome piece of artistic commentary. This piece achieved everything the artist wanted it to. Making it very successful. Great job, in my opinion. :D
