    resistooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! its awesome cause i saw this design start from basically nothing, and resisto took suggestions from us at teebanter, so this design is extra close to my heart, and im sure everybody else on teebanter! realllllly stoked to see its getting printed and i will FOR SURE have to pick one up. realllllly love how it came out in the end, its a very well done design! great job resisto, but im sure you couldnt have done it without us :P (jk jk)

    This is great! the older I get, the more I realize that fundamental concepts you learn in games like snakes and ladders can be extrapolated into the real world. All it takes is one good roll to get to the top, and all it takes is one bad roll to go backwards. This shirt really ties it together! also, I love childish concepts extremified. 5/5.

    So it took me about 2 minutes to realise that this was a chutes and ladders reference. That being said, I LOVE the design and find it really appealing/clever. I don't really wear anything with snakes on it, but I would actually consider buying this shirt which is kind of a big deal to me. I should've expected great things from you anyway since you made the Mic Stars shirt :D

    Wow... this is what i'd imagine its like to see a child be born. I watched this come together over at teebanter & although i didn't contribute i got quiet a kick out of seeing this design pop up today on the Fury.

    Love the poster print, i think it looks even better as a poster. Is this poster a Teefury one off print or has Resisto had a limited run of them printed? If its the latter, how many in the run & are they available on the net elsewhere?

    It's a cool design, but I'm afraid the concept behind it will be lost here in the States. I grew up with shoots and ladders, not snakes and ladders. From a purely artistic point of view however, it is a nasty tee.

    i dont think its eating it cause its mouth is closed.

    the whole head/ladder morph just looks weird to me, like the angle/perspective is off. i just dont know whats going on and every single way i try imagining whats happening just ends up not making sense. my best guess is that its sliding over it and its head is moving along the right rail instead of being in the middle for some reason, but that too looks weird cause it would kind of be like having your head on you right shoulder. plus, it doesnt make sense that its sliding on it, cause hes morphing into it. he should be eating it i think, but hes not. i dont know, but looks off. since so many at teebanter or whatever they called it pitched in on this shirt there must either be something im not seeing, or they arent very good at pitching in.

    At first I thought this shirt was G.I. Joe themed, then I thought it was movie themed (the ladders reminded me of a film strip), and then I realized that it's a play on one of my favorite board games. Very nice.

    After reading about the Hindu origins of Snakes & Ladders on Wikipedia, the infinity symbol is that much cooler: Saṃsāra

    Suggesting that climbing the ladder will just lead you into the mouth of the snake might be the Buddhist take on the game.

    Also, it's neat how the middle of the snake looks like a chute.

    This shirt reminds me of how endless and fruitless the game snakes and ladders is, and that they should have made the game to where you'd always wind up back at the beginning via a snake to keep climbing up the ladder. Now I'd like to see someone come up with a shirt design based on the game Mouse Trap, with the same artistic flair and simplicity of this shirt! Kudos to Mr. Robinson, MJ and teefury, keep up the good work!

    At first appearance, this design is nothing more than a glorified lemniscate. My mind wanted to assign something deeper here, but I just couldn't grasp it immediately. But then it clicked. The 'ladder' design coming out of the snakes mouth, is his tongue right? And it happens to be split to form the ladder; I identified with Rosalind Franklin's double helix, with the rungs being the DNA bases. And the helix connected to the tail of the snake, so I thought.. shooot, this guy is good! DNA precipitates life, and life shall go on into infinity on the back of 4 nucleic acids...

    And then I read that it's the personification of the board game, snakes and ladders...

    And I'm an idiot. Great job, Mr. Robinson. Really sick print, however you assign the meaning.

    I just finished reading the Wheel of Time Book 12: The Gathering Storm and this shirt is making me think of the next book! The Towers of Darkness----IE, Mat, Thom and Noal will have to play Snakes and Ladders to rescue Moiraine! Just cant wait until October 26th!

    I'm really glad to see this after watching it com together on Banter! It turned out amazing, and if my mother would stop being a psycho and would let me buy things again, it would be a DEFINITE buy.
    It really surprises me how many people don't get the Snakes and Ladders reference, I'm only 14 and even I've played it!

    The aspect of it that I like most is the sort of hidden imagery of the dark background, it took a little longer to spot, and it added to the total package in my mind, that and the nice curve of the ascending and descending ladder rungs reminds me of a roller coaster which is probably intended.

    tHISS is the game that never ends! Up and down we go, my friends! Scott started drawing it while knowing what it was. And he continued drawing it for only just because...

    Throw him some waffles, but not in his face! This shirt is smashing, it's really ace!

    Möbius snakes and ladders! A game I loved to play as a child. Well, minus the möbius bit. I wonder what would happen if you dropped an ant on it.

    I wish I had more to say or something of worth on the piece and I am certain others can come up with something witty or quality post worthy. Regardless, I do find the image at hand makes me smile and has me wanting to dig out the old Snakes and Ladders game. Board games can be a lot of fun with the right people. And now I feel I have gotten too wordy to be qualified for the poster. No matter if I win or lose, this is still a smashing piece. :)

    "Snakes & Ladders" is called "Chutes & Ladders" in the U.S. Infinity, the ouroboros, the DNA double helix... it's a nice design, though it's not particularly something I would wear.

    I don't understand the exuberance expressed by so many over this design. I can't find anything redeeming about it at all (so if you're reading this comment, rest assured it will be deleted by TF staff by the time you check in next). The snake is overly angular and boring (looks like a GI Joe reference) and it morphs into a ladder somehow magically yielding the concept of "snakes and ladders," a conclusion which nobody would ever arrive at without explanation, likely awkwardly and at great length. The only interesting aspect being the infinity sign which itself seems lifted from M.C. Escher (not a rapper or DJ). I'm not interested in the free poster.

    The snake is a symbol of the human Sin, and combined with the ladder, makes it almost look like a DNA-string - which could be interpreted as humans always bears the sin... But since only half of the "DNA-string" is a snake, the stairs could mean we're still able to ascend into heaven! Conspiracy! maybe im analysing too much :P

    That is gorgeous! And very clever. I've never seen anything like it. It's Ouroboros, a moebius and dna combined. Basically the cycle of life. A new cycle starts because the other one ends, so it can go on till eternity. Yet we all die. I love this, one of the best statement shirts ever by TeeFury printed. Not to mention it looks pretty freakin' cool too.

    All this combined with the huge amount of moustaches in the portfolio resulted in this designer going straight up to my top ten of the cheesy yet interesting question of 10 people dead/alive you want to invite to a dinner party.

    What a "twist" on the whole rat race we're living here on Earth!

    When I saw the image my first thoughts we along the lines of a cobra and DNA strand type of mash-up. Snakes (chutes) and ladders really didn't come to mind until after I read the title. I think the "snakes" and ladders might be a little past most Americans as the chutes and ladders are the standard here.

    This design is amazing. It is some kind of optical illusion since the tongue of the snake dissappears into the ladder. And if you watch carefully you can see an 8, and if you use a little bit of imagination and flip the 8, it is the symbol for infinity... which is clearly represented in this graphic. Nice design, I would deffinitely buy this one.

    Very nice design. That flow the infinity/8 form gives it keeps the eye moving through it, and the ladder aspect adds some nice variety in place of say a solid line. The background detail makes it too, would be too plain otherwise. I love the snake imagery as well. Very nice Scott!

    I love the fact that all people have their own thought of what this is, those that doesn't know that it's based on, that is. I've heard atleast five different versions of it, dna, the game, eternity, harry potter, 8 ball and endless more opinions.

    Simple yet very well presented, as an avid board gamer, this is a cool concept, the snake reminds me of Cobra from GI Joe and it took me several glaces to see the background. Might be a good replacement for a rattlesnake shirt I've had since 1990 that was bright and brilliant then but has the same sort of take a second look qualities now that the image has faded out.

    Man, I am super late commenting on this shirt! Basically repeating what Niku said... I am SUPER stoked about this shirt. Resisto brought it to Teebanter for advice from the very beginning. He started out with a very different design, scratched it, and came up with this updating the Teebanter kiddies as he went and taking everyone's criticisms and compliments very well, and using them to make this AWESOME design! I'm sad lots of people don't seem to get the reference... they must have had a very sad, lonely childhood!

    This is an awesome design. The symmetry and flow of snake into ladder and vice versa is brilliant. And deciding to do it in black and white? Definitely a good call, as I believe color would have distracted from the design itself. If I had to say one thing I would change, it would be to have it sideways so the design also makes the infinity sign. But overall, very cool Resisto, as always. :P

    As a little add on: Chutes and Ladders is for kids, SNAKES and ladders is where it's at. The game for those who like to live on the edge. ;]

    Great depth in the deign, I think thats my favorite part. I used to like snakes and ladders, but i was always a bigger fan of CandyLand. I mean candy is much more appealing, lol

    The confusion is understandable. I didn't get the reference either. I grew up with CHUTES and Ladders game, which is the US version. The British version was SNAKES and ladders. I love the design, but the reference is likely lost on most Americans.

    yeah i played chutes and ladders. snakes not so much. i mean, how does one land on a snake and expect to slide downward? it would make more sense to land on a snake, get bitten, and lose a turn or two. the game wouldn't be as fun but that's what you get for putting snakes in your board game.

    It's a nice design, but not something I could wear. Like the eternity thing, and also this design is reminding me off cars. Don't know why. Hope the sale is as high as the number of comments ;)

    Very slick. The thing that makes this such an easy choice for me is the endless loop aspect of the design - while not a true Mobius Strip (which is the only thing I can think of that would have made it even cooler), it definitely captures the whole "life is a series of ups and downs."

    This is, perhaps, the most significantly symbolic tee shirt I've ever laid eyes upon. Kudos to you, Scott Robinson. With the name and basic concept of "Snakes & Ladders", on the surface this shirt appears to be an innocent reference to a board game of our youth, but on a deeper level references the concept of the Paramapada Sopanam, or "The Ladder to Salvation" as the game was originally based upon in India. Visually, the image is very reminiscent of both the shape of a DNA helix, and of an Ouroboros, as the snake's tongue curves around it's body and connects to its own tail in as a subtle sign of it's self-consumption. As a philosophical statement I interpret this shirt to represent that the sin of evil in man (symbolism of the snake from Judeo-Christian tradition) is a naturally occurring phenomenon engrained in man from birth (DNA helix) with no hope of ever swaying this behavior as the rigid social construct of religion and morality fails to be a powerful enough influence again animalistic urges (an ironic inversion on the India Snakes & Ladders) as history repeats itself continuously of selfishness, cruelty, and evil by humans (the Ouroboros). I hope my interpretation doesn't sway to far from your original intent, Scott.

    Now, as two of my favorite things include Dancin Stars and late 80s Hip-Hop, I hear you have a poster that may interest me?

    As interesting as todays shirt looks, it reminds me of Snakes on a Plane. Um no thanks....

    However the AT-AT/Run DMC print is AMAZING!!!! I can just hear Run-DMC's version of "Walk This Way" pumping out of the sides as the AT-AT is coming in to destroy the Rebel base on Hoth followed by "Rock Box" and "You Be Illin'".

    I just did a project on M.C. Escher, and this remends me of his 'somethingsomething-strip' with those ants. SO of course I love it. I saw it from nothing to this! (nothing in a totally awesome way)

    I remember that MicStars shirt... Had no idea what it meant, but then I did my homework and I really love that idea. Now I wish I had gotten that shirt. :)

    Great design, although I'm more of a Monopoly guy myself.

    The typography design on the right is awesome, I feel like it should be printed on cardboard and worn while standing on a street corner, preferably right next to one of those "End of the world" crazy bums.

    Oh gosh, I loved this game when I was younger! I'm surprised not a lot of people know what board game this is! I remember when I was playing the game again with someone and they didn't find it exciting. :C It kinda depressed me that not a lot of people get it. xD I like how it all connects--and the interpretations of the earlier people are really cool! C:

    Love the shirt, just its clear, striking design.

    reminds me of the ancient viking legend of a planet that is a giant snake eating his own tail, then twisting into a giant infinity symbol from the pain...

    beautiful design.

    Nice shirt, the black and silver make it pop out on the black. It's a shame we print so many things on black, even though it's so hot in the summer wearing black is torture. Nice print none-the-less scott. Congrats.

    The board game is commonly called Chutes and Ladders here in the States, but I think this design is interesting. Definitely shares some DNA with a roller coaster.

    This is a great shirt, and I love the 3D feel to it, as if the figure 8 design pops off the shirt and this gives the design a great sense of dimension. Great shirt! I think the game referred to here is sometimes chutes and ladders as well, but it's a fun game regardless, and a cool shirt.

    Snakes and Ladders! Used to love that game as a kid, great design too! To think of it I always would land on the worst snake of all (the one near the end when you think you're going to win).

    I'm not sure why, but I think that the best thing about the shirt is that the design resembles the number eight, and that may be enough to provoke me into buying this. This will require about an hour or two of thought before I confirm my decision. I received my Dancin Stars infidelity shirt today, and that was incredible, so I'm leaning toward another purchase in the preliminary stages of thinking.

    ok first off, if niku wins, i will scream until my lungs burst lol. second, this is definitely a really cool piece. I actually viewed it initially as a DNA chain with the snake in it, which I thought was cool too, then read the name and thought it was even cooler. Who would have thought a child's game could be so........ eeeeeeevil. That side art is sick too, great tight artwork. kudos. ps i am so mad I missed the shirt, have mercy on me and pick me *on knees begging because of the awesomeness that is RunDMC and Dancin Stars combined*

    At first I thought this was a GI Joe refernce (cobra), then I read the title and thought, "oh, is that like chutes and ladders?" because I know not of the snakes and laddeers some speak of. But in the end I wondered, does this constitute a quality post?

    The only thing I don't like about the design is it looks a bit cold and metallic in contrast to the innocent-ness of the actual game. Other than that, I like the concept a lot. I may just have to replace this for the infinity sign on my calc test tomorrow.
