I guess you could describe this design as... A Link to the Past!
Tell us the background of this design.
Well I realised I'd never really done a popculture referenced design before, yet I love stuff like the old zelda games. So when I was doodling one day, this idea struck me, three pyramids forming the tri-force symbol. Nothing fancypants over the top, just a neat simple design. Threw some more references in there, in the sky, the stars form Links sword and shield, a rupee, and a treasure chest, to top it off.
Where are you from?
I'm from The Netherlands, live in a little town called Uden.
How would you describe your style?
Probably as "Illustrative and detailed". Fun subjects, nothing too serious.
If you could collaborate with anyone, who would you pick?
That's a tough one. There's so many awesome artists out there. Alex Solis would be pretty awesome to work with I think. So would Kyle Crawford, he has this awesome style where he uses old horror movie posters and combines them into something even more awesome. The whole textured/old look would work nice with something illustrated I think.

What historical figure do you most admire?
To be honest, I'm not that big on history. I mean, I think it's quite interesting, but I just don't really know a lot about it. Wish I did. But I'll go with Nikola Tesla. Crazy dude who experimented with all sorts of high voltage stuff. Awesome. Now that I think of it, Leonardo Da Vinci was pretty awesome too, but I suppose that's kind of a cliche. Maybe I like inventor dudes because I always wanted to be an inventor when I was a kid. Too bad I'm not technical, at all. Now I just draw crazy made up stuff. Good enough for me.
I honestly have no idea. Probably still something to do with illustration, but on another medium I suppose.
If you weren't designing shirts, what would you be doing?
Did you prefer ice cream, frozen yogurt, or slushies?
Slushies and Ice Cream are both pretty awesome in my book. But I'll have to go with slushies. As kids we used to challenge eachother, whoever could drink the most at once. Major brainfreezing ensued. Good times, good times.
French fries vs. French toast: which would win the battle?
French Fries, easily. They're in much bigger numbers, and smaller. They'd have the tactical upperhand to french toast because they would be able to move around much easier, and lure the french toast into a trap. Them sneakies fries. In a battle of taste however, no wait, French Fries would still win that battle.

What is your favorite t-shirt color?
Black always looks good, but when it's sunny I like to wear lighter shirts, American Apparel Sunshine is nice, so is White. Sand is good too.
Went to the Czech Republic and Austria with my brother. Plenty of mountains to camp on. Good times. Except for when my tent started leaking and of course, right that night, it started raining like crazy. Everything was pretty much soaked. But besides that, pretty awesome vacation. I'm leaving Europe for the first time this summer, going to visit a friend in Curacao. Should be awesome as well. Gonna get myself an epic sunburn, but we'll get over that, haha.

I know ALOT of furians will be SO FREAKING EXCITED to come to teefury today. holy smurf this might cause a riot how sweet this shirt is. for those that were neglected as children, this is a Zelda design. the pyramids are a triforce, the Triforce of Wisdom, Triforce of Power and Triforce of Courage. Each possessing their own goddess. Im sure someone walking down the street wouldnt get this design just by walking by you, unless they were familiar with it.
regardless, that does not make this design MOOT. its a GREAT design, so well done, and very exciting! i know alot of people that have been waiting for a Zelda shirt, and this delivers. its nice to see the guys getting the light brown colour as well! i see teefury has really been branching out on its colour choices, and you dont see me complaining about this!
also, love the top image with the user panel including the hearts! great job curating there. i expect this shirt will sell very well, great job mathijs!

However the colors seem a bit too dull. the design sort of dissolves into the background.
