Downright creepy.... interesting but not my style. Reminds me of the find it picture they used to have in the kid's magazine "Highlights"

Oh and a side note, I thought the mug said "World's best Reaver." I about jumped up and down (at last a Whedon reference!).... But alas, the next second I realized it said reaper and my hopes were crushed =P

Anywho I like the art but not for a shirt. I like what someone said about seeing something new every time, very detailed and subtle.

Great print, beautiful and has humor to it. Many say this t-shirt is too busy but I would have to disagree, we are so drowned by simple straight forward t-shirts which nothing is wrong with that but it is a nice refreshing splash to see something more lively (no pun intended).

Sweet woodcuts! I love the paintings though, I think it would be a fantastic design in colour, more like the paintings. I agree though it would make a totally fabulous poster, but the t shirt format just doesn't do it justice.

Wow......bought it. Reminds me very much of the old etching style back in the day. Inspired me to start a story:

What a morning. It seems harder and harder to move my feet out of my bed. Most of my drive derives from making sure my dog (older than I in dog years) has enough food for the day. My second priority is the morning paper. I thumb through the fat and get to what I call the prime rib...the obituaries. As I crack the obituaries I read that...

Great artwork, Mr. Bergeron. I like this design a lot. It just mystifies me when people say that there's "too much going on" or that the design is "too busy". It reminds me of the part in the movie AMADEUS when they told Mozart that his music had "too many notes". You invested beaucoup time in this design and now, we who choose to purchase a shirt, get to reap the rewards of your labor. Thank you. I love that you use Huguette in a lot of your drawings and paintings. Peter De Séve of the New York Times does that also, with his pit bull, Darla, who recently passed on. It gives the art a more personal feel, and immortalizes your beloved family member.

Totes agree. However, my problem isn't that it's "too busy", but that, now having seen the colored version, I just... can't be satisfied w/ the black and white... Hmmm... Maybe I'll buy the black and white and do a little "paint by numbers" dealie on it... *ponders this while she packs up to go prepare for her own show, opening on Saturday* ;P

I love this design...but for me....It's an interesting story in the artwork that I fret gets Looooost with the black and white print on a white shirt. HOWEVER, if this shirt was reprinted in it's original COLOR pattern on the bottom sideart it would be a MUST BUY FOR ME...if you ever reprint in full color COUNT ME IN then.

I love it. I'm buying three, one for me and two for the coolest people I know.

A lot of people are saying this shirt is too cluttered and complain about the white color and the design placement, but I just think it adds to the whole 70's-80's punk/early 90's grunge feel. It gives the shirt kind of a retro look, and when you see it up close there's a beautifully detailed artwork as well. Awesome.

I really like that it's on a white shirt because thinking of it in a heather grey, blue or something..the design just wouldn't pop out as much I think. You can easily see all the details in a nice, white shirt.

so.. i did not notice the coffee cup saying "world's best reaper" at all until after i read what the artist said about the design and after seeing the color version..... therefore i had no idea what was going on because this shirt completely redesigns the typical visual of "death". it's just overall difficult to see what is going on in the black and white rendering. i like the look of it-great artwork, but i think the average person looking at the shirt would have no clue what it was supposed to be. i don't want people spending too much time trying to figure out what's on my tee-if you know what i'm sayin... interesting concept... over-conceptualized.

So Amazing! Oh my freakin' hell! The textures - you can practically feel them through the picture! I keep going back to it to see more. It needs to be a print rather than a shirt.

I agree with twilshire: anyone who says there's too much going on in this picture is equal to the Emperor telling Mozart there were too many notes. You don't tell a composer how to write music or a master how to paint!

Awesome illustration. been a fan for a while love your skulls, The whole Dia de Los Muertos vibe is great. Love the one man band on the side as well

Oh wait, RIGHT NOW! He's a interesting fellow, you can follow his massively productive works through his Twitter. He seems to have a new painting in the works every week! With productivity and passion like that, he'll soon be a common name in the pop surrealism art movement.

Tell us about this design: Death, as a common worker, reviewing yesterday's work done.

Where are you located? Montreal, Qc, Canada

Tell us about yourself: I'm a 37 year old painter and shirt designer with a wife, a son, a cat and a Boston Terrier.
What's a day in the life of JohnnyCrap like? I get up real early because our son never sleep past 7, drink coffee while catching up on news, get the kid to daycare and come back home to paint or design MMA or band shirts. Food intake at noon and 6p.m, drinks and more work at night. Some more t.v watching involved at the same time.

What inspires you? Various things. Artists, designers, posters, street culture...

How did you get your start in art? I've always been drawing, picked up my mother's oil paint kit around 17 around the same time that I started doing graffiti. All that mixed with skateboard art and punk album covers.

Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years with your art career or other? Doing pretty much the same thing but mostly painting.

What advice would you offer to aspiring artists? Though one...I would say that if you are looking at instant success try something else. It's not always easy but if you keep at it it can be very rewarding. Nothing like working for yourself, doing what you love.

What would the you of now, tell the you of 10 years ago? Well, huh, it's not about procrastination and partying. Get to work...

Do you have any interesting hobbies or tales of intrigue? I actually like going to the gym for the first time ever even though I don't look like it's the case.

Any shout outs? My wife and Kid, they are the best ever. Gallery 1988 in L.A for hooking me up with a solo show and Galerie Yves Laroche in Montreal for doing a great job at representing me.
