This shirt is pretty sick. Although perhaps I wouldn't purchase it myself, I'm sure that the artist took a lot of consideration and thought into producing such a lively form of art, with a mix of pirates, guns, and the infamous Mario.

this shirt is pure genius. Duck hunt was a classic and i remember going through atleast 3 guns. Side art is also awesome, especially the Lakitu towing.

This shirt is hardcore, getting a Bison from street fighter vibe, but I think its a little late for mario, at least for me, not a big wii fan, and the character is sort of getting stale after rehashing so many times.

Good design, very old-school gamer. I can tell you did your homework with the guns - very true to form. I'm not totally positive about the colour palette, though. It seems to fade a bit into the shirt. It just seems to be a consequence of putting this design on a black shirt (though, admittedly, you couldn't have pulled this design off with any other colour).

Great idea and concept, but personally I think it comes off as a little forced. It's a bit too obvious, you know? I tend to be more into the subtle ones that don't straight out spoil the punchline before you hear the joke.

I believe I will be getting this for my husband. He is a HUGE fan of the shooting games from the original NES...has like that big, I mean really big, gun even though we don't have the hookup, game, or even a working system. He reminds me of a kid LOL

I enjoy the design as well, Dead Mario FTW! And since his entire work place seems to enjoy these random shirts from the site he calls "9 Tee" this should bring plenty of smiles to their faces as well.

I love the Mario artwork on this. I have been a big Mario fan snce I was old enough to pick up a video game controller, and out of any Mario Mario shirt that I have ever seen, I would have to say that this one ranks as one of my top 2 favorites.

I love Mario, and I would love a Mario themed shirt, but I hate wearing shirts with guns on them. Yeah, I know that these are the toy guns we used to use on duck hunt (or something like that), but they're still guns... That said, the shirt is still awesome.

I like more Nintendo's getting into the mix, but the skull's a bit morbid for my tastes. Mario's more of a happy childhood memory for me, you know? I go play Yoshi's Island when I'm tired of acting like a hard-ass. Still, great art. The shadow works especially well on the cap.

Loving the stickers though. Simplistic and hip enough that it doesn't seem entirely too nerdy. As a huge Dancin Stars fan, I'm a bit biased. I'd love to put one on my banjo case though, even if I had to buy it.

I'm not a big fan of this shirt but I love plaid vader.
I should probably say why I'm not a big fan. Skulls and guns are not my style. At all. Kinda a little violent and dark for me. I love love love love love the side art though. So much Dancin Stars... Really dig how the skull is drawn in this design too considering how hard skulls are to draw. Well done overall!

Today's design is awesome. I've seen designs with crossed guns before and they always look awkward. You've managed, by the angle of the guns and Marios hat, to balance the design beautifully. Nice job!

This is a very cool design. I won't be purchasing it, however. I was never a part of the whole video game scene. Looks like I missed out on a lot of fun. So I'm happy for those who appreciate this design and I hope that it gets a huge pile of pancakes.

I really like this design.

I'm definitely getting a Hitman, Mobster type feel, which is exactly what Mario was. A TRUE OG.

This artist definitely captures the inner nerd well in this design, and his many side arts, Kudos to you, sir.

There are just so many things to say that I'm not sure this tiny text box can contain them...*sigh* I'll try not to get fan-boy goop on you all.

I love this design like a fat kid loves cake, and upon viewing its awesomeness I immediately heard that god-awful "pa-TANG!!" sound those guns made with every single trigger-pull...classic.

I could also probably be talked into beating up a homeless, crippled orphan if it meant I could have the wine-hat design on anything; a poster, a shirt, a sticker, whatever. It's one of those designs that I actually hate the designer a little because...well, dammit, I should have thought of that! Truly, truly excellent design and execution.

Finally, as a huge fan of Egyptian culture, history, and art, the idea of Dancin Stars engravings being found on a dusty, millenia-old pyramid wall hits me in all the right places. I especially love the missing hand...nice touch.

dann...I like you. As a friend? Yes, but don't feel bad about that. You make me all squishy inside.

I propose that the next Mario game should totally be a first person shooter. They've already delved in RPG and sports and party games, another genre experiment would be refreshing. Perhaps a Goldeneye crossover? Mario could be like Oddjob, but more agile because of wall jump.

AMAAAAZEBALLS! I remember hopping like mad about my room wielding a light gun. Man I shot some ducks in my day... good times.
I still play my nes monthly in my parent's house, although sadly the light gun went to the great nintendo factory in the sky many years ago. I shudder to think what I'll do when Super Mario Bros. 3 konks out. *tears up a little*

Great shirt! I almost wish it was crossed wrenches instead of Light Zappers though. Wrenches would have been a better fit with the Mario theme (plumber) plus they have a shape similar to bones, considering the Jolly Roger layout.

I always associate the Light Zapper with Duck Hunt or Captain N: The Game Master.

On a side note, I am not sure that you have Dann's real twitter linked up there. I t is different than the one on his portfolio and doesn't seem to mention anything about teefury.com or his shirt showing up on the site.

However the twitter on Dann's site both uses his name & graphics and mentions the shirt:

This tee brings me back to memories of downstairs neighbors complaining that my cousin and I were bouncing up and down on the floor too loudly making ridiculously loud gun sounds while shooting ducks :) and you always had to hold the gun at weird angles for it to shoot right...remember when they came out with the mat...my poor heals were so sore! Mario all night...Rampage all day!!!

Ahhhhh those stickers look so good! I want one so bad, it would look perfect on my vehicle.
By the way the shirt today looks pretty good too, I really like the mario/duck hunt cross. It's like a retro remix. I think we need some lighter colored shirts though. It's tough because a lot of designs look good on black/charcoal but colored shirts are nice for the summer/spring time.

Hope I get one of those stickers! Ahhh I really hope so, that one's my favorite design of all time printed by teefury. And the "Count von Body Count" is a close second place. Now if you could make that into a sticker I might explode.

Just this Saturday night,we were sitting with my sister and some friends,and I dug up my old Family Entertainment System (that's a chinese knock-off of the NES if you don't already know,that looks like the SNES however) and we played Mario Bros and Duck Hunt.
She was so excited that she asked me to leave it hooked up to the TV so she could keep playing Duck Hunt.
And today I showed her this design and she was "Get it get it,and get one for me!"
If only I could afford it.
Oh well,I hope to get this in the next grab bag.

I love this. When I was a kid I found that I couldn't get far away enough from the screen to make the game challenging, I would move the game console as far away from the TV as the cords would allow and then sit as far back as the cord on the gun would allow and still found it wasn't enough.
Then I got really clever. I would sit right next to the TV, and set up a mirror on the far side of the room, and play in the mirror. That was difficult and awesome enough for my young tastes. This brings back all of those awesome memories.

Most of the side art is a is a definite buy, this one surprisingly is a pass. Good concept, but I don't know about the randomness of it. Mario is a little happier than this, he is less gangster than you guys would think. I know, it comes as a surprise to me as well. Also Dancing Stars is a terrible replacement for s t a r w a r s. I almost want to buy this in case someone misses it. It happens so much. I'm so close to liking it, but it's just not close enough to being *me*. Pretty darned close tho! I have tons of shirts, but I have to go "Bazinga" to know if it's a buy the second I see it.

I was not fortunate enough as a child to have the NES. I did have the 2600 tho and quite a few games. Most of my games got stolen! OMG!

i would absolutely buy this shirt if i didnt have to spend my money on a doctors appointment and whatever drugs he ends up giving me. the fact that he mixed the actual nintendo guns and mario is awesome. i didnt even notice immediately. i even had the duck hunt/super mario game for the nes. i'll assume that may be a part of it too haha

I love this design! I grew up on these video games and who could forget the duck hunt game? I always wanted to shoot that stupid dog every time he laughed at me! Add Mario to the mix and you've got one pretty sweet design. Too bad I can't afford to buy it at the moment!

I would love to get some of the Plaid Vader stickers for my middle school students in S.t.a.r W.a.r.s Club at school. Yup, there is actually a S.t.a.r W.a.r.s Club in my school which I run and our club is WAY more popular than the sports clubs. I make sure I wear a unique S.t.a.r W.a.r.s shirt each time we have a club day and Teefury has certainly helped me build that collection. Love the Fury

Awesome shirt! My daughter and I have played every Mario game they have together, and she would love this, but wouldn't be allowed to wear it to her school. The pistols would be ok, but they have a rule..."NO SKULLS ALLOWED!" When I told the principal that the rule was kind of silly and asked her if the one under my daughters scalp was allowed, she actually looked at me like I had sprouted a second head. Some people have no sense of humor ;)

I'm a kinda' picky guy, and this is the 2nd shirt I've ever bought from this site (both of them were centered around videogame weaponry oddly enough). And as a Top Hat wearer irl i definitely approve of the Top Hat side art, it would be way cooler it it were on a black shirt tho.

I figured tough guys loved their NES too.

Where are you from?
I grew up on the entire West Coast (CA-AK) and ended up setling down in WI.

How did you get started designing t-shirts?

My old coworker, Matt Alvar, talked me into going to school for graphic design and putting together a small portfolio of shirt designs to present to a mall chain. We got a meeting, had a handful of shirts printed up for our presentation and failed spectacularly. I continued to make shirt designs while I finished school as practice in between projects.

What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
Don't get discouraged if your work doesn't look exactly like what you imagined in your head. Think of each design adding +1 design skill. Place your bad designs in a bag of holding. I hope those references make sense, I don't play RPGs.

What would be your dream job?
It's sad, I don't think I have one anymore. The cynic in me notices that my "dream job" would become hectic and redundant at some point. Now I've made myself sad. This next question had better perk me up!

What are your feelings about hats?
YAY! I love hats! If you look through my past designs, I've made at least 8 designs that are headwear-centric. There's even on in my sidebar examples below! YAY HATS!

What would your dream house be like?
I'm in my dream house. I just bought it last year and I've never been so content. My wife and I often play "what if we won the lottery" and we both agree that we would stay here, buy the neighbor's place and turn it into a bigger yard / addition to the house with full theater seating and one of those new 3D TVs.

Jason Bateman vs. Justine Bateman: who would win the battle?
Jason is too nice, and you can tell by the way he always drops his gaze that he was not the Alpha Dog in that sibling Rivalry. You have to stay dominant, like me. I once dropped a factory sized iron press on my sister. No lie. I let her hit me afterward to keep her from tattling.

Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
My old Misfits shirt. I haven't worn it in a while, but I love that Crimson Ghost skull.

What was your favorite as a kid: comics, cartoons, or movies? Was there a specific title you liked most of all?
I didn't read comics as a kid, I read books, every book I could find. I read most of the Babysitter's Club when I ran out of Ramona books. I didn't love movies until my later teens. TV was my favorite; and despite my large transformers collection )taking up a full room in my house) I watched He-Man a lot.
