Teefury has been EXTRA magnificent, lately! ^_^ I love this artist's style, and I was just thinking about how awesome this is when I saw Niku's post! :) Definite buy! Congrats on the print, Rubyred! I love the idea that the sweet, cuddly teddy bear is not what it seems.

I think there's an underlying message here: animals, in this case bears, are wild creatures. They do not belong in zoos or in any place other than the wild. We humans are destroying their habitats and we only seem to care about these creatures when they are to be used for our own benefit.

Then again, it's probably just an awesome bear who wants to play "cat's cradle" with your innards... YAY!

Love the idea of the bear suit. Makes me think of something done in a stop-motion animation style sneaking & studying the main form of life on Earth. Like perhaps on the old school 'Twilight Zone'. But that could just be me.

I love the style in this design, the teddy bear and the bear itself is done in great details. i like the repetition used in pattern such as the halftone patterns. i like the shirt alot but i think there is too much usage of brown overall to make the shirt "pop" out... green background, yellow, orange or electric blue could of worked wonderfully here. maybe even purple!

And just to add some constructive criticism about this shirt, The bear's brown head may not show well on the brown shirt well. I would have preferred a crimson red, or maybe pale green. But all in all, a GREAT shirt.

I LOVE the House zombie shirt (or print series). I love the twisted genius of the baby skull in Cudy's hair and her necklace... little baby zombie eluded to. And it is particularly dark that 13 is the farthest along in her decomposition.

Regarding all the debate over Lupus comment or no Lupus comment... all poster and t-shirts are more powerful without words. The art should speak for itself and his art does.... And besides, to me it is always osteosarcoma, not lupus.

Oh yes, I remember when this was a side art. It's so clever! Like a wolf in sheep's clothing. Only, this is a bear in bear's clothing... hahaha... I love the fact that it looks so cuddly and cute below the neck, but then your eye leads up to that ugly bear face. Makes me think twice about sleeping with a stuffed bear in my bed. Never know when it'll take it's head off and eat mine.

I seem to remember the side-art of this having a different background +bow color. Oddly enough I don't own many brown t-shirts so that's a plus (for me), though I feel like the brown on brown takes away from some of the design. Like the idea, need to sleep on it, though.

I like to show pictures of shirts to people, but today when I showed this one to my mom (on an iphone, so it was kinda small), she got upset. She thought I was showing her something obscene. She started talking about how it looked like the bear was getting a... er... Blowie. Then when I said that wasn't it, she started talking about the vibrator one of her sisters got for a gift at her bridal shower.

Anyway, this shirt has already scarred me for life. Thats the power of teefury (and my moms bad eyes and inability to keep some things to herself).

i think that it is the bears face that makes this shirt work. if there was a bear with a calm face it would not have the same message. Ive been waiting for this tee for what seems like an age. first saw it in the side art and it instantly caught my eye. Love the idea of something you consider harmless and "cute" can actually hide something much more dangerous and scary. Also putting it on a brown background was a top notch choice, was trying to work out before whether it would work as a tee design, clearly it does :D :D :D need to check the funds *runs off to the cash point*

That is an amazing design, so clever, funny, scary and very well executed. Sadly I don't think I'll be able to get it, being a poor student and all.

Dear Teefury,

This design is one of the more humorous shirts that's been here for a while. If I wore it, everyone would laugh and say they like my shirt, but not really understand it. The humor, to me, is that there is a bear hidden inside of a bear. Is this true of all teddy bears, in that there is a miniature brown bear hiding inside, or do all regular bears just dress up as teddy bears? Does this mean that there is a giant rat inside of Chuck E. Cheese?

For the design aspect, I found it amazing that so much shading and detail could be put in, even with the three color limit. At first I was thinking, "Wow, they let him use so many colors," but upon further analysis, I realized that the shading was done using black for the tummy of the teddy bear and the beige of the teddy bear for the top of the real bear. Also, the pose is well executed, because it looks like the way a teddy bear sits and how a brown bear would sit.

This is definitely one of my favorite shirts in a while, great job!

This shirt is really cool, I mean the irony of it is that bears are so materialized and put in as 'cuddly' stuffed creatures, but they're really terribly dangerous creatures. I heard a joke the other day about bears. "A sign reads: Warning! Bears sighted in the area, hikers be careful to keep on trails and should wear jingly bells on their packs and carry pepper spray at all times. Hikers should also know the difference between Black Bear feces and Grizzly bear feces. Black Bear feces contain berries and squirrel fur, Grizzly bear feces contain bells and smell like pepper". Well , I thought it was funny... Anyway the t-shirt is really cool and my friend will enter one too soon :3

It's nice to see this design get featured after so many people fell in love with it as a side art piece.

It's also nice to see another RedRuby shirt. One of the things I like the most about TeeFury is the way you become familiar with the style of some artists and recognize their work every time they get featured on TeeFury. RubyRed is one of many artists I most likely wouldn't have discovered if I didn't hang out on TeeFury all the time. It's always exciting to see the name of the featured artist and immediately be reminded of previous shirts they've had for sale here. In this case, it makes me want to put on the "AT-AT Anatomy" I bought a couple of months ago.

in a weird way it reminded me of that, i am in no way saying any1 stole from any1, its not that much alike..and no furian or artist would do that :)...but i like this design waaaay better...its like the old adage don't judge a book by it's cover...or think that a teddy bear will always be fluffy and friendly :D

Oh RubyRed, you've won my heart with this design. My fingers twitched over my credit card and the credit card won. Purchased! Bought! Pancakes for all! I look forward to bearing this bear on my body. My only concern is if he (or is it a she?) will start a fight with Gloomy bear. That might be an awful mess of stuffing and blood. Oh what a mess indeed!

And Olechka! I must say that your artwork is amazing. Self taught as well! You bring extra life to each portrait you work on. Whether it is human or animal, they are all stunning pieces. You inspire me to draw again and I hope to one day be able to create wonderful portraits of my own.

I love the details in the inside bear's head, there is a lot of good work in the lines, and at the same time the use of simpler computer graphics can be seen. Often this makes the shirt look weird, but here they appear very harmoniously. This is artsy and funny. Very Teefurish, in the way I see it.

O-M-G! best day ever!

first, i remember seeing this rubyred design on side art and thinking "oh, how i would love to cuddle and snuggle that bear until he clawed my face off!"

second, the house zombies are awesome! i have an extreme fear of zombies (kinemortophobia), so i tend to obsess over them and these are some of the most realistic i've seen. eerie that i just finished reading pride and prejudice and zombies.

side note, best house episode ever is the one where house himself pretends to play along with the who's baba o'riley.

I enjoyed the humor behind the design as bears are animals that are quite scary and fearsome in real life, yet they're made out to be all cute and cuddly as stuffed animals. The design shows a mixture of both, which is a very nice contrast.

In regards to the contest, the prize just happens to feature my favorite TV show. The artist's detailed designs of the House characters and adding that touch of zombification is simply stunning.

To add to the discussion, I believe House is one of the most compelling and best shows on TV due to the fact it sticks to a simple concept and builds on it very well. I have friends who say that every episode is the same in how an "impossible" symptom turns up and House has to solve the case, which is true. What makes the show so watchable and compelling is the extremely well written dialogue and the incredibly well done character development and side stories.

For a bit of a brief history of how I found Teefury and why I order shirts from here now, it would be because of the site Destructoid and how they occasionally link to you guys when video game themed t-shirts are featured. That's all for now, but once again, great t-shirt design, and go House!

Haha, i think side is the most used word here. Im glad they added the word QUALITy posts, I saw some people literally using the word HI on comments yesterday, just a post saying HI.

Well, I like this design, i feel that the contrast and humour wont have that great of an effect with this color scheme. While its a great idea, maybe a black teddy bear ripping of into a polar bear would have had that great punch power, especially on a red tee...wow, makes me go crazy just thinking of that!

I bought it on a dark red tee on RedBubble. I'm wearing it now. The design has more colors as well, but that's why you pay more there. I also bought it here today, simply because I like it with the slight changes made to adapt it to TeeFury. I have no problem having 2 of them!

I've bought about twenty shirts from TeeFury;
All of them have arrived very quickly, ALWAYS the right size, ALWAYS amazing quality.
I have yet to dislike a single design they have sold, and I look forward to thousands more.
The awesome doesn't end at the shirts, either; They really care about the fans who watch them, asking for constant feedback (and actually answering to that feedback) they also include with each shirt an awesome artist interview so you can get in the head of the T-designer. This in and of itself would be enough for me to keep coming back.

What's a day in the life of Roger like?
I’m a senior designer for an American owned events and publishing company. My day involves juggling many different design projects, and more often than not, it's a struggle to keep them all up in the air. My work is fairly varied, so I’m lucky my days are kept interesting. I commute on the train so I get a fair amount of time to work on tee ideas that get worked up in the studio at home, I just swop one Mac for another.

Do you own a lot of shirts? If so, what's your favorite?
I do own a lot of shirts, it’s almost a fetish. I’m lucky that everyday is ‘dress down for work day’ in my office so I get to exhibit many different designs. My current favourite is a skate tee ‘Bored? ... Board’ by Nick Ford, I’m a sucker for clean, crisp lines in tee designs.

What advice would you offer to aspiring designers? I saw you were on the top ten RedBubble sellers list. Got any advice on selling designs online with a on demand fulfillment company like RB?
You’ve gotta keep at it, especially on POD sites. Just because they handle all the production doesn’t mean sales will automatically come. You’ve got to promote very carefully. Blanket spamming just doesn’t work, you’ve got to be targeted and work hard to build relationships. If you’re prepared to put in the work, the good times will come. Thankfully, it’s not a dark art, common sense will take you a long way.

What inspired you to pursue art?
The same as a lot of us arty types I guess, hours spent drawing as a kid. I came from a family who weren't particularly creative, but fortunately, my parents really supported my artistic endeavours. I went to Saturday morning art clubs when others were at football, but I wouldn't have changed it for anything. I feel very fortunate to be employed in a creative industry.

Is there a subject matter you prefer when designing?
I'm a bit eclectic with my thinking and go through stages, sometimes I'll see political or social issues that strike a chord with me and I'll be compelled to create something relevant. Other times I like to indulge myself in something 'spoofalicious' or dabble with a bit of 'exploding bacteria'. ;)

Explain a little bit about your technique.
Like my thinking, my techniques can be quite varied. I'm spending a lot more time drawing and hand inking recently, and am enjoying the more hands on approach. I'll try most things and have created photography based designs, hand drawn and 100% digital works. On the Mac I work predominantly in Photoshop rather than Illustrator, just because it's what I use the most during my day job.

What are your current favorite design trends?
Oooh tricky. I'm not sure what trends I prefer, although I can say personally I'm not a fan of all over print tee designs, they're just something that I don't wear. I really appreciate quality linework, there are SO many uber talented designers who can cram so much detail into designs with really slick lines, I'm constantly blown away on a daily basis by what some people create. I appreciate most forms of art and design and try to visit as many shows and exhibitions as I can, and I'm a bit of an art book collector

I have to give a mention to my fellow collaborators in ‘The Game Of Kings’ over at RedBubble. There are some seriously talented and varied artists and writers working on a huge chess based art project. Each of them has inspired and pushed me in a direction I didn’t think I’d go in.
