A word from the curator:
Isn't it weird how aliens and things from the bottom of the ocean tend to look alike when we imagine them? It's as though there's a murky overlap between the darkest depths of the sea and the the vast emptiness of space...
Tell us the background of this design.
Who isn't a fan of octopus-like alien robot creatures wreaking havoc on cities? I just wanted to give the people what they love most.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
I always keep it real. And I live in Iowa. Yeah, that's right. Iowa.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
That I am not the comedian or serial killer that go by the same monicker.
Name a few of your favorite things.
I am a huge rpg nerd. Give me a good console rpg and I'm a happy happy man. I also love music. I am always on the hunt for new music, so if you ever hear something you think for some reason I would enjoy, send me an IM or email. I promise I'll listen.
What are your feelings about disaster movies?
Hmm.. I haven't seen any of the recent ones like 2012 or Funny People (what a disaster that was. Way too many genitalia jokes) but Independence Day is one of my all-time favorite movies. So in general, I love the genre.
Would you rather tell a great joke or hear one?
If I had the capacity to tell a great joke, then tell it would be, but I always tend to mangle my words. So I suppose hearing one suits me just fine.
Ancient Egyptians vs. Ancient Mayans: which would win the battle?
Egyptians hands-down. I have nothing to back that up with, just love the Egyptians.
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
Oh man, really? I don't know if I can answer this. To be honest, my favorite shirt is a solid color green v-neck that fits like magic. I have too many amazing tees with awesome designs to name just one, so I'll stick with the solid green tee.
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
I choose reading! Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse is amazing. Anything by Hesse is amazing.
What inspires your work?
I think I'm most inspired by other artists. I've met so many amazing artists over the past 6 years, and they all seem to inspire something out of me. I think surrounding yourself with creative types is the best way to find inspiration.
Any shout outs?
A HUGE shout out to Jeff McCune at Monster Pop! He is actually picking up the license for this shirt after its day of glory here, so keep an eye out for it later at http://www.MonsterPopShop.com. I'm pretty sure the colors will be a bit different, but same design nonetheless! Buy it twice!
