Think about a lobster claw. Big top, big bottom, no fingers in between. Index + Middle = Big Top. Ring + Little = Big Bottom.

Back in the day of the freak show, "Lobster Boys" were a staple of the freak-fare. Not saying they were common, because Ectrodactyly is still incredibly rare, but everyone knew of certain things. Bearded lady, siamese twins, etc. Lobster Boy was one of those types, with a genetic mutation that causes your Index, Middle, and Ring finger to never grow, and separates the pinky and thumb with a cleft, making it look like a lobster's claw.

Major props on actually knowing the name of ectrodactyly, Mr. Sullivan. I appreciated that.

The only one I am aware of was in the title, but it was fixed almost immediately and was never on the shirt itself.

So if your reasoning for NOT purchasing a shirt is a typo somewhere else other than ON the shirt, were you ever seriously thinking about buying it in the first place? Like no one here has ever fat-fingered a key before. If it's not your thing, it's not your thing. "Not My Thing"...but still a Trek Fan. Vulcans are definately cool.

This is incredible.

You've used 2 of my absolute favorite genres of stuff (ST [specifically Spock] and Circuses) and somehow made me really really really dislike it. It makes little to no sense since he'd be more of a Penguin from Batman than anything resembling someone qualifying as a lobster person (you've clearly left the finger separations in the render, might have wanted to lose those to prove the point) and I'm not convinced at all on the connection to electricity for the nerve pinch.

I suppose I'm being too literal about a fictional character, but this is just pop culture for pop culture's sake, and not in the hilarious Marcel Duchamp way, in the make money quick way of I'm going to just vector trace a photo of someone famous and aesthetically place text around it. In this artist's opinion, it's simply not clever.

That said, I appreciate all the work down the side and quite dig the dirty simplicity of the Phillip the Fossil poster at the top. Drop the pop and keep up the poster-style work.

Do you have any new project you would like to promote?
Yes! I just got back from SXSW where I was promoting a film I'm producer/graphic designer/actor for called Phillip the Fossil by my boy writer/director Garth Donovan. We were extremely lucky to have been selected into the narrative competition along with 7 other great films. And to top it off our lead actor Brian Hasenfus won the special jury prize for best performance. It's really just amazing, we were a micro budgeted project of all local guys hoping to make a movie to impress our friends and never expected to reach this level. You can catch us coming up at some more festivals later in the spring, keep checking the site for details as the announcements come rolling in.

I'm also in the process of developing an artist coalition based out of Caracas Venezuela with my good friend Pablo Baraybar called El Flying Monkey--more to come on that in the coming months.

What's the funniest thing you've seen/experienced in the last year? Graham Roumieu's "In Me Own Words: The Autobiography of Bigfoot". Hands down the funniest thing I've seen or read, period. Actual uncontrollable bursts of laughter projected at an audible frequency ensue--not just typing out the acronym for the fun of it.

What's being a print designer like? I mean with the internet millions of people can potentially see your work--but in print, if your work is in a high traffic area millions of people will actually see your work. It's like a kinetic vs. potential energy thing. Once it comes off the press, it's kinetic.

What would the now Thomas tell the Thomas from 10 years ago? Oh man, the 17 year old me and the year is 1999? I'd say invest as much cash as you possibly can in apple and amazon. Then take what's left and put it all on the Patriots to win the 2001 superbowl, that was like 14:1 that year. No... wait, did I learn nothing from Biff in back to the future 2? Forget it, I'll just tell myself to enjoy the matrix, but skip the sequels.

Any advice for aspiring designers?
I know it sounds like corn-ball guidance counselor b.s. but there really is no job too small. Coming out of school I did a lot of really low paying gigs, freebies and trades. And you'll learn from your experiences, because people will cheat & low ball you when you're green--but just keep at it with your nose to the grindstone and eventually it will start to pay off.

Any and everyone who bought Leia the Riveter, you absolutely overwhelmed me. Thank You! I hopped on a plane to venezuela for 3 weeks the day that went on sale, I had the chance to peak at the numbers and order myself a couple in the morning. And when I got back my email box was flooded with inquiries and praise for that shirt...if you got lost in the shuffle I apologize!
