I know if it weren't on a dark shirt it wouldn't have the same effect, but I have way to many dark ones so unfortunately I have to pass...even though the design is UBER kick butt
A beautiful piece of art displayed on a T.

I really like this, but I've had a bad experience with TeeFury-produced solid backgrounds like the sky on this design. I bought the 'Extreme Coffee' shirt, wore it three times, and the coffee mug (solid background) split and cracked extensively. It looks awful now. None of my other 30+ TeeFury shirts have done this, but after 'Extreme Coffee,' I can't take the chance. The sky on this shirt could end up like that, so I'll have to pass.
This is such a sharp design, though. Congrats on the print.
That's a pretty neat design... the more I look at it, the more I feel like I'm lying on a forest floor looking through the trees.... anyway, nice design :-)
Love the design, but think it would have looked better on a hunter green shirt so it looks more like shadowy leaves. I have a slight problem with navy leaves. I'm still considering it, tho'.
I really like the concept and layout but different bird silhouettes are kinda bugging me. Maybe if it had all the same species of bird and not a raptor, crane, goose, sparrow mixture.
I do however like how they aren't cliche bird silhouettes.
Also digging most of the environmental art in the portfolio.
Beautiful job, Yanmos! You caused me to set a new Tee Fury record: the first time I bought shirts two days in a row! I love how we're glimpsing through a hole in the clouds to see a bright sky with beautiful birds, that it's just two colors, and in silhouette form!
I also greatly dig the earth-tree T esp. as it is in forest + light green on your portfolio. I'd love to see it here in that color comb. or another one you love. I wonder if it would look even better if the design was placed higher and/or smaller so the roots were more on the chest than stomach. You have good taste, and I like your style! Keep up the fantastic work!
Over rocks and trees and sand
Soaring over cliffs
And gently floating down to land
She proudly lifts her voice
To sound her mating call
And soon her mate responds by singing
Caw Caw Caw
Come with me
Lesbian Seagull
Settle down and rest with me
Fly with me lesbian seagull
To my little nest by the sea
With me that's where you belong with me
I know I can be strong when you're with me
She skims the water
At the new time to seek
Her fish and she emerges
With one squirming in her beak
She plays among the waves
And hides between the swells
She walks the beach at twilight
Searching for some shells
Come with me
Lesbian Seagull
Settle down and rest with me
Oh fly with me lesbian seagull
To my little nest by the sea
With me that's where you belong with me
I know I can be strong when you're -- you're with me
And in the evening
As they watch the setting sun
She loooks at her as if to say
The day is done
It's time to find their shelter
Hidden in the dunes
And fall asleep the
Music of the moon
You and me
Lesbian seagull
You just watch the world oh my
Just you and me lesbian seagull
Side by side with me 'till we die
('Till we die)
You and I
We can make it if we try
Our love will keep us flyin' high

I have Extreme Coffee as well, and I can report no problem with my shirt after quite a few times through the dryer. I use several methods that I've heard work to preserve your print shirts: flip them inside-out, wash in cold water, and to make sure you do not use too high of a temperature or too much time for the drying process.
yanmos, i love your portfolio, specially one of the tees in there that is in humorous and is red with the black text, which i know teefury would NEVER print so i might have to get it directly from you for that extra price.
such a sick shirt! im glad you got this printed on teefury so i could know you existed and check out your other stuff. i even like your environmental stuff too.

I have extreme coffee and never had a problem with it as well...like to use cold water/ inside out method as well.
Design is awesome, but not so sure how the print is going to come out... I think that subtle gradient does a lot for the design, and whether it's flattened to one color or done with a screen, I think it's going to lose something. Will have to go look at my past TF shirts for similar operation and see how they turned out.
Ok, just did a quick survey of a part of my collection, and it seems that when multiple colors are involved, TF screens come out quite nicely. When just one color is being screened, the pattern is a little too obvious. So imma take a chance, and plead:
PLEASE print this in at least two screens of different colors. I realize that'll be two ridiculously close colors like teal and teal blue, but I think it'll pay off.
i can see someone wearing this and another person coming up to them and going "whoaaaa dudeeee, i can totally see into your chest, and youve got birds flying around in it"
of course, the person would probably have to be under the influence of someee sort of drug.
TBJMayle said: Not to sound harsh, but this just seems like another bird shirt. I like the colors, though. Criticism, take it for what it's worth.
i would absolutely have to agree with this statement. the design is nice enough, but honestly, it does not qualify in my opinion to be the shirt of the day. Some of the side art, however, is awesome. The AT-AT would have been an awesome shirt and an instant buy for me. Sometimes I don't understand why some of these get put up when the side art is just so much better.

Thanks for the tips, but that is exactly the way I've always washed my printed shirts. That's why I was so surprised at what happened to Extreme Coffee after having no difficulty with dozens of others. I guess that just means I'll have to be absolutely in love with a design containing a solid background before I'll consider taking another chance and buying it.
Love it - the scalloped edges to imitate looking up through a break in the canopy coupled with the silhouetted images are fabulous. :) and, lovely colors as well!
I like the perspective, the colors, and the concept, but it comes across a bit odd for me. There are all these different species of birds (do they actually have overlapping ranges?) all gliding (or miraculously all captured in mid-flap with wings outstretched) in the same airspace. It just seems kind of forced and concocted, almost like the images were copied and pasted from a Peterson's Field Guide. I think fewer birds of the same species or more birds like a shape-shifting flock moving like a school of fish would work better for me. That said, it's still pretty cool, and I like the detailed border, probably more than the birds. Anyway, keep at it.

Understanding how the art is put up would help you to, uhm, understand.
The ARTIST submits the artwork you see on the Tshirt to be printed here. When it's accepted, you'll see this page, then, TeeFury goes and gets some of the artists work to put up on the side for us to see and enjoy. It's not like TeeFury picks out whatever they want all the time to be put up as a shirt. Most all the time, the artist submits artwork to be printed.

cool, interesting to learn, thanks. you get $1 for every shirt sold, right? so my question is, don't you think SW would get more hits? great stuff tho!
Where are you? I live and work in Thessaloniki a city in northern Greece.
Tell us about yourself: I used to be a restive spirit from my early youth, things which usually affect my creativity is human rights and the environmental awareness. This doesn't mean that i don't like some geeky things. Generally i 'm a very cool guy with a lot of passion about painting.
What's a day in the life of Yan Mos like? I usually wake up early in the morning, drink a black coffee and going to my full-time job. Back to home about 3 am for a good lunch and some relax. The afternoon a cup of tea is all that i need most with a lot of drawing and a lot of music, surfing on the internet commenting my favorite artists 's works...At the evening it's time for the news on tv or watching some movie with friends drinking red wine...
Do you own a lot of shirts? If so, what's your favorite? To tell you the truth i never count them. I think is about 50. My favorite is not always the same, this season is a tee from a Holland artist named zeptonn.
If you could go only to one restaurant for the next five years, which would it be? Ha ha it's a seafood restaurant called "Apagio"(Απάγγειο, site not available yet) in the region of Kalamaria Thessaloniki. Really yummy food!
How did you get your start in art? Back to early 90s i was starting to study fashion design & graphic design here in Greece and in Denmark. So much enthusiasm!
What advice would you offer to aspiring designers? To love what they do and work hard, really hard. Inspiration is everywhere guys and in your own head and not in some other artist's work :)
MAC or PC? I 'm still a pc guy but this is going to change in the near future. Any shout outs? My love and respect to all my cyber buddies (most of them are really great artists) for their comments and support! Thank you so much guys!!
