Tell us about this design.

As with so many people, video games have been a major contributing medium of my cultural education since as far back as I can recall. One of my earliest memories is actually being four years old and pushing a stepstool up to a video game cabinet so I could play Q-Bert (for about 12 seconds). For this design, I wanted to highlight some of the most awesome 'weapons' from the history of video games including some of my personal favorites (but less obvious ones) like the Arkanoid paddle, the line piece from Tetris and the Katamari.

What's your favorite time of year?

One of the reasons that I enjoy where I live so much is that it actually has a nice balance between the seasons instead of the two seasons (Summer & slightly less Summer) that I had growing up. My favorite is probably spring though: the bleak winter world feels renewed daily as different trees and flowers offer up their colorful blooms and scents. Coats are left in the closet, restaurants open up their patio seating, convertible tops are down, and someone has a cookout every weekend.

How do you usually get around?

Typically by car, but this winter has been so cold and we've gotten so much show that I've had to try and develop other transportation methods. The most exciting was probably a dog sled. Unfortunately, we only have one dog (and he's a pug), so when I say exciting I actually mean comical. Although maybe that's because *I* was pulling the sled. Hmm....

If you could invent an animal by combining one or more together, what would you create?

Hmm, I think I'd combine a pygmy marmoset and a goldfinch to make my own army of miniature flying monkeys that carry out my every whim. Bwahahaha! Oh, and also crossed with an accountant. You know, so they can do my taxes.

Any guilty pleasures?

Bad movies from the 80's and giving waaaay too long of answers to interview questions.

What's the deal with airline food?! (from niku)

Seriously, on my last flight I was three bites into it before I realized that I'd already finished the chicken and was now eating the tray! I was going to complain, but the tray actually tasted better. I think next time, I'll tell them to skip the meal and just bring me two trays! I mean what. is the deal. with THAT??

What's your favorite sci fi movie? (from MikeK47)

Firefly. Now before the purists point out that this is a TV series not a movie, let me counter with this well-reasoned and pithy retort: I don't care. Firefly was amazing, and considering that I typically re-watch the full series in a weekend, I think of it almost as a long film rather than a short series.

I'm sorry, but I believe it's spelled "pacman". And the orange ghost is my favorite. It seems to have a lot more personality than the others. I think his name is Clyde.
