Artist Jared Stumpenhorst demonstrates his textural and rendering talents in this piece that's just plain lovely. LOST-influenced? Probably. But this is a piece that transcends all references.

I hear you like LOST. How long have you been following the show, and what do you like most about it?

Actually, you must be misinformed because I don't like LOST, I LOVE LOST!!! I think it is the best television show ever. I have been watching it from the very beginning. I remember sometime shortly after I had moved back home after graduating from college I was sitting on my parents couch thumbing through the TV guide and I came across the Fall Preview that had an article about this new show called LOST on ABC. I actually was hooked on the show after reading that article. It just sounded like something cool and new. Little did I know where the writers would take us viewers throughout the series!! In fact, i'm still not sure where they are taking us!! My favorite thing about the show is how it has built the characters throughout the series and really made the viewer become invested in their storyline and future on the show. It has become less about that the past couple of seasons and more about the insanity that is The Island, but it's still amazing!! Oh, and I know you didn't ask but Locke is my favorite character.

What's your process for creating a t-shirt design?

Oh man. You had to ask this. It's not very sexy but I basically just sit down at my computer and start drawing. A lot of the time I don't even have a concept in mind (which is painfully obvious most of the time). In the past I used to just throw any illustration on a shirt, but over the past year or so I do take into account the shirt as the canvas a lot more. Like most artists, I just create imagery that I enjoy and think that I would wear on a shirt.

Do you usually listen to music while you work? If so, what?

I listen to music some of the time. It really depends on my mood what I am listening to though. I use the genius function on iTunes a lot. I'm super lazy so I just like to pick one song and let the program do the rest of the work. Lately I have been listening to a lot of Frank Sinatra when I have music on. However, the past few weeks I have just had episodes of LOST playing in the background (is it possible that I have a serious problem with my enjoyment of this show?).

Tell us about your MSLED project.

MSLED (Make Something LOST Every Day) is a spin off of Olly Moss's extremely popular Flickr group MSCED (Make Something Cool Every Day). Basically I have always wanted to start a project where I challenge myself to create art each and every day. I have tried a few times but failed. However, as the final season of LOST approached I decided to start a project where I never get tired of the subject matter, LOST!! I recently renamed my Flickr set LOST 365 because MSLED was confusing to some people and I wanted to make sure people knew what the heck I was talking about. My goal with the project is to create LOST inspired art every day for the entire final season and hopefully for a whole year!! People can follow along on my blog currently but I will soon have a website or something up that is dedicated to tracking my progress. You know, for anyone who is really bored or desperate for any and all things LOST. Do other people capitalize every letter in LOST too?
