I think that it's supposed to be a bush, because in the original Super Mario Bros. game, they used the same sprites for the bushes that they used for the clouds...

Guys. Be more intelligent. It's clear that it is a bush from it's flat bottom, if you played the game, or if you read any of the other posts that say, it is a bush. Also, the mushroom is from the levels where this guy from so my opinion is that it is appropriate.

That said, this is a definite buy.

Sad to see it's been done before though, but I guess everything has.

Not a big fan of how ugly the turtle has ended up looking though that was obviously the aim. Still love the toastbusters one from the last time it was on the side art!

I really like this one, but I am pausing at the bush. I know it's a bush and not a cloud, but with them being the same shade of green and touching like that, it looks like it was a overzealous fill command. I have to think about it.

Oh, and about the design on anothersite- there wasn't much artistic license used there- here's a turtle with wings.... I like that one too, but to me this concept is flushed out more. Bravo.

Pretty well the exact same thing I intended on writing. I really do like the idea of what you were going for; it's just extremely over done, & that 'bush' defiantly should have been white.

Then that is you're choice. As they may be similar in style, they aren't the same shirt at all. If you liked it better somewhere else, than by it from somewhere else! Don't just WesleyCrusher on someone's design. They've spent time on creating a shirt for you. Creative criticism is one thing; but then there is just being a DonkeyKong. (And this isn't directed only at you.) I'd like to see those of you who've made the negative comments to do better..

Perhaps I ought to make myself clear.
I am not criticizing the artist or the integrity of the design. He is not ripping anyone off. It's completely different from the other design.
What I am saying is that as an online store, presenting a very similar design that a competitor put up for sale not even seven days earlier is a bit of a faux pa.

Good luck to the artist today though and congrats on the print.

Why are there all these post about other sites and other shirts?!?! This design is AWESOME! And this is teeFURY and we don't need your stinkin post about other stinkin sites or shirts for that matter!

I think the one thing people need to realize is that sites like teefurycopy and TeeFury (as well as just about any other site that has a Art Director or curators) typically plan out tees months in advance. And curators don't run in some secret circle, discussing every design we curate.

Personally, I think it rocks that MJ and I like similar pieces and we curated two totally different artists with the same concept. Biotwist is an awesome guy, and I've worked with him in getting designs of his printed... So I can safely say he surely didn't nick this design from Travis Gentry.

Love the style and the concept. Def a buy.

Hey, I got a shout out, I feel special. Congrats on the print bio, hope it does well, and I find it very admirable and inspiring the way you've been cranking out designs. Still think you need to improve the Pikachu, I know you're trying to get these out fast, but don't neglect to make them as good as they can be. You're destined for glory though friend if you keep that work ethic up.

Curators are always listed to the side of the designer's icon at the top.

You misunderstand the process. Curators aren't choosing from all the designs shown in the side-art. The artist sends the curator a design for consideration. If the curator says yes and the design is approved to print THEN the artist is asked to provide the side art banner.

The side art may be up for voting or sale somewhere, or for all you know also approved to be printed here at a later time.

To be honest, I was on the fence about this one, but, in the end, was sold! It's wretched, weird, wacky and wonderful. Guaranteed to turn heads and also, more importantly, proclaim my love of video games. =)
