What's a day in the life of Reece like?

I think I'm like most t-shirt designers. I get no satisfaction, praise, or reward for my efforts as a graphic designer. so I design t-shirts. I design t-shirts to relieve my creativity and get a little something back. If it wasn't for t-shirts - I don't know what I'd be doing - They keep me sane.

Got any new exciting projects in the works?
 
I hate New Years resolutions. So difficult to keep. And I’m so fickle that they only last until the end of… well my pledge really. But against my own better judgment I’ve made a new years resolution to learn Ukulele this year. I started to teach myself last year, but gave up, when the noise coming from my Ukulele didn’t match the noise on the Youtube videos. I also want to learn piano. I’ve had a couple of lessons but they stopped when I moved house. Plus my piano teacher was harsh and nasty, a real slave driver. She used to make me cry... Children can be so mean! You can buy lessons now from Apples iGarage, so I think I will learn that way instead.
 
But besides that, I’m hoping to go to Disney Land Paris with friends and my wonderful wife to celebrate our birthdays. So that should be fun. Say ‘bonjour’ to the French Mickey Souris (that’s mouse I think).
 
What would the Reece of the Now tell the Reece of 10 Years Ago?
 
Grow up!, Don’t eat so much!, Eat more bran!, Save some money!, Buy that house!, Work harder!, Stop wasting money!, Wash behind your ears!, Always wear clean underwear!, Mind the trams!,  Mind your P’s and Q’s!, Stand up straight!, Sit down!, Roll over!, Beg!, Good boy!, Spit that gum out!, Don’t run in the corridor!,  Comb your hair!, Wash your hands!, Cover your nose when you sneeze!, Don’t spread germs!, Don’t talk to strangers!, Be more sociable!, Drink less!, Hydrate more!, Get fitter!, Exercise!, Relax!, Chill out!, etc etc etc.
 
The old me would then punch the new me in the nose!

Do you own alot of shirts? If so, what's your favorite?
I do own a lot of shirts, but the sun never shines here. It's like Twilight's Forks, so I never get to wear them and if I do they are covered with layers and layers of other clothing.
but my favorite t-shirt of all time is the 'Sex, Drugs & Helvetica Bold' I love it! It's pure genius!.

How did you get into art?
I don't know to be honest, all my family and brothers are trades men. I'm the black sheep. The runt of the litter. The one they kept in the cellar and fed through a hatch in the door, with just a cockroach and spider for company.

What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
Keep at it! If you think you have talent - you probably do. It's just the people that employ you, who like to keep you in your place. They are probably not creatively minded and don't come from a creative background. Most people in our trade are money chasers from the 80's.
