About the artist
Words from the curator:
Artist Steven Lefcourt provides us with a topical design about the movie Avatar. Perhaps you've heard of it?
P.S. This is all I can offer in my report, because I've yet to see the movie. But I plan to. NO SPOILERS PLS!
Tell us about this design.
Just a fun play on the meaning of the word Avatar. I took two of the most popular things currently and smashed them together for a lighthearted joke about a technological marvel.
Who are your current favorite artists?
I don't follow a lot of art outside of the field I work in, mainly because im afraid someone will say I ripped my style off from someone else. A few names that do come to mind though, are: John Cassaday, James Jean...oh, and Julia Heglund
*** Bahaha, excellent. -Julia
Is there a place you'd like to visit, real or fictional?
Dare I put Pandora?
What skills do you wish you had?
I wish I could sing, and play guitar...I started learning guitar once...started is an optimistic way to describe it.
What toppings do you like on a burger?
Bacon, onions, pickles, pepperjack cheese and if I'm feeling it- a little buffalo wing sauce as well. Onion rings are awesome too.

The Avatar one is funny because the organization really did treat the Avatars like they were the own personal toys of their controllers. "Welcome to the Avatar program! Here is your multi-million dollar genetically modified body, go have reckless unsupervised fun! :V "
