HhSHHh I love it but the yellow around the image doesn't look good to me. Still might get it cause pulp fiction is my favorite movie and this is an epic scene.
My jaw seriously dropped. I haven't bought a shirt a shirt from you guys in awhile but I've been here every day looking for another and im gonna buy it after this comment. Made my day and thats good since it has just begun. "say 'what' again!!! Say 'what' again!! I dare you!! I double dare you m**********r!! Say 'what' one more g*****n time!!
...Say what? Well i say bought. Too bad Brett couldn't. ;-)

This is a parody. It makes a statement about the properties it mocks and is legally protected.
I guess I'm a little thrown off because it lifts images directly from the source materials and ties them together loosely with photoshop. I'll trust the authorities and assume it is ok for use, but I was just confused.
I haven't bought a shirt in so long and with the archive gone I'm really just over this site but with this shirt I still have hope let's just see if this new hope leads to some star wars shirt or something else being removed off the site then I'll be over it fasho!

Parody is a legal defense, not a law. It is certainly what teefury would use if sesame workshop took them to court, but it in no way would guarantee them a win.
I'd say that you're probably right all in all, though. I have no idea how this is legal either, except that no company is going to spend time prosecuting someone for selling a product for less time than it'd take to get any sort of lawsuit in place.
After 5 months of visiting TeeFury, waiting for a worthy shirt, deliberating buying or not buying, I had already ordered this shirt 30 seconds after I recovered from the shock of seeing it. 5 stars, Mr. Lillis.
One of my favorite scenes from one of the best movies of all time. Congrats, Mr. Lillis, on the printing. Lastly, I can't imagine my life without black shirts or Mr. Tarantino. You're right, mine's a simple life. And I like it. So, for all you anti-black-shirt-nonbelievers, three words of encouragement: HEAD AND SHOULDERS.

Totally agree with this lol. James, I gotta say, I really want your audacity of joke shirt, but I can't find it anywhere for less than 25 bucks. And I've wanted it for MONTHS...either way, great work on this one, it was an instant buy for me and my gf as soon as I saw it. The yoda one also lol.

Not only is it ill informed of you to assume that people who don't like black shirts are doing so because they have a skin condition that makes it socially unacceptable to wear them, but your beloved shampoo does nothing for those among us with seborrheic dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, or superficial mycoses, which all also cause white flaky skin to ruin the pristine look of black shirts. I don't blame you, however, I didn't know what some of those were either until my dermatologist told me.
And I agree that it is indeed, one of the best movies of all time.
on the fence with this one. like it but not the sign that goes around it.but i love pulp fiction and know the Quote by heart. so its hard. but you print the yoda one and i'll buy 3
I think they took the Archive down so you couldn't tell how many black shirts they sell here. Hell, yesterday's shirt was black. Not going to buy any more black shirts TF...I would have bought this on any color but black. Get a clue.
Ando138 said: Is there a place we can get the Joker or the Yoda shirts?
Portfolio, always check it, most often at least one of the 'side art' is being sold elsewhere and they will link to it. Yoda is there, Joke is not. I think everything but Joke is there. There are some kick ass tees there though.
No offense to the artist, but I think the Obama/hope parody is so played out anyway. Pretty much everything that even remotely rhymes with Hope (and most things that don't) either have been done or will be done. In fact, I was going to make a sarcastic remark about how I could just tack a picture of Benedict XVI on a shirt and write 'Pope', or Bill Clinton and write 'Grope' and they would sell. Then I thought better of it and looked them up, and sure enough they both already exist. So, I guess I could put a picture of Tyler Durden on a shirt and write Soap (I looked, and couldn't find it... yet) and somebody out there would buy it. Or a picture of Amy Poehler and write 'Knope', or... Hey, this is kinda addicting, I think I see why there are so KHAAAAAAAN many of those shirts now. I'm stopping.
I do love the Ronald-as-Joker/Why So Serious shirt he did though.
I hope permission was granted for the use of Bert and Ernie. Otherwise TeeFury could be looking at a Cease and Desist order or worse. At the least a disclaimer should be noted by either/both the artist and TeeFury that permissions were granted.
Don't get me wrong I think the design is kinda neat, but I'd hate to see TeeFury get in trouble because of it.
This is pretty well worn territory as far as "copyright infringement" goes and is done on a daily basis by tons of artists... no ones getting in trouble, settle down.
Ezekiel 25:17-- "I will execute great vengeance on them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I lay My vengeance upon them" --NKJV
Proclamation against Philistia.
Ehhh I am getting tired of the pop culture up here. But the popscicles on the side are kinda cool.
wow, copyright infringement. did you guys think that up all by yourselves? how clever! why is it the new "cool" thing to bring up copyright infringement on teefury, as if the curators hadn't already taken this into account before choosing the design..."OH MY GOD THANK YOU TEEFURY COMMENT POSTERS, WE HAD NO IDEA THESE WERE COPYRIGHTED CHARACTERS!"
what are you guys, like 15 years old? the parody explanation is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of possible defenses that could be utilized by teefury in the extremely unlikely event of a copyright infringement lawsuit.
Dropped the n***a off a 3 story building.
For what?
He gave mrs. Wallace a foot massage.
Dropped him off a 3 story building for a foot message?
Yep. Anyways, now n***a got a studder.
That's a g*****n shame.
Cease and desists will not be an issue for TeeFury. If this were being sold on a continuous basis, yes, it would get stopped, not just from Sesame Street, but from which ever company owns Pulp Fiction as well, because it’s still from the movie.
If it were a hand drawn rendition of said characters/scene, no problem…ever. The reason this will never be an issue is that these will be sold printed and shipped most likely before a cease and desist were issued, and all a C&D says is that, “you must stop selling, printing, and distributing this item.” And by that time, they’re all sold and gone so…no problem.
Coming from a skateboard design background, Cease and Desists come like the morning newspaper. In the 90’s every graphic was a spoof on something, or a direct ripoff, and skateboards were only printed in small runs so they’d be sold out by the time the lawyers came knocking.
Since this shirt will never harm an artist by infringing on their work, and will really do nothing to harm the entities it’s a parody of, then I’m all for it.

Funny freakin' shirt! Woohoo! Congrats on the print.
Great portfolio!
YouTube has a video of Bert & Ernie doing the Royale with Cheese scene from pulp fiction. So if you think this shirt is clever.... I guess you'd think this was as equally clever:

A word from the curator: There's something sinister afoot on this old, familiar street...
Tell us the background of this design. A while back Banksy did a take on this Pulp Fiction image featuring bananas for guns. He was taking something disturbing, adding a humorous element and softening it. I thought about how you could make the image MORE disturbing by transposing a softer element into it. Bert and Ernie - bingo. How did you get started designing t-shirts? The usual way - accidentally! A lot of people have a tee shirt design in their head - I just happened to have the tools to make the image (Adobe Illustrator - hell yeah!). I played around with some images just for fun, but after people started buying them, I decided to get a bit more serious. What advice would you offer to aspiring designers? Think long term. And when I say long term, I mean loooooooong term. Expecting quick results will result in extreme disappointment. A long term perspective takes a lot of pressure off you as well. What would be your dream job? Being an independent fashion designer - which I am. Epic win! What are your feelings about travel? Hate it. Hate it. Hate it. Do you prefer video games, board games, or athletic games? Mind games. Nah - I like having a run around. Love beach rugby. Stripes vs. solids: which would win the battle? Stripes, more military. Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much. Well, I'm wearing "Evolution of the AT-AT" at the moment, which will always have a special place in my heart. It was my first really popular tee, and continues to sell every day (yay!)
What was your favorite as a kid: comics, cartoons, or movies? Was there a specific title you liked most of all? Comics all the way. Conan the Barbarian - although it was a bit disturbing from memory, quite dark. Conan seemed to have more than his fair share of existentialist angst. What are a few of your favorite websites? Ha! This will be shameless... I'm a big fan of the Black Milk Clothing shop (http://www.blackmilkclothing.com/), and the Too Many Tights blog (http://www.toomanytights.typepad.com/). What can I say, I like legs. Any shout outs? Anyone anywhere who has bought a James Lillis tee shirt. You guys who buy independent design are CHAMPIONS!
