Thanks all for your positive comments on the design. The placement was originally designed to extend to the sides of the shirt, unfortuneatly was changed due to screen size.

Love the flowers on the side art. The t-shirt design just doesn't flow, but I like the wood textures.

The first post of every new shirt should say something about the archives being gone, but they will be coming back soon. That way maybe we can avoid getting the, "Where are the archives!?" question every few comments.

Also I love the shirt. But I just can't do white. It's a shame.

I think the wood grain looks really tight...but the placement really is awkward. What with the way a womans chest would distort the image and all...
That and it's a bit boring... Large amounts if white space do nothing here...

Ok I feel like I wasn't positive enough...I don't like the design but the artists skill is very clear. It's a talented concept, I just personally don't like the execution for above stated reasons.

At first glance it looked like a stain...

In anycase the shapes are well done and I like the wood grain, however the placement is horrible. The two main elements compete with each other too much for dominance, and because of the offset composition the design just feels unbalanced. It would have been better to just have the center piece than two have both of them in the current composition.

Also the fabric color just doesn't help the design at all. Like I said at first glance the brown design looks like a stain. Given the availability of other colors it would have been nice to have a light brown or cream in the background. A More considered color would have helped.

as everyone else is saying, really lovely design, just a shame about the placement and the colour. White shirts are rarely well received, and I think a cream or similar might have caught more eyes, OR if the design was just bigger/better composed, because I actually do like the white space in the design.

I really like the wood grain and the deer in the middle of the shirt, but the forest line image on the left chest just doesn't look right. Take that away and it's a great shirt.

I actually really like the high shoulder placement. What I dislike is the big blob that would be on my lower rib cage and upper stomach area. I very much like the shirt though.

This is strikingly beautiful. But the two parts seem disconnected. I feel like the trees in the left part are leading the eye to feel like the land's moving in one direction, while the section on the right is contradicting. They could stand to be more connected, visually. Like the trees on the left leading into the ones on the right. The right section should act as a background, so the sections could stand to overlap more. It'd be a shame to lose any of the detail in the right section, but maybe you could redesign it so nothing too important is covered up. Treat them as different planes? Or keep that thought in mind for future pieces. Either way, I'm ordering this. Thanks for another great shirt, Kathleen!

Off topic...but my Xbox 360 RROD'ed about 3 hours after buying your t-shirt yesterday. God must have a sense of humor...either that or Microsoft's out to get me :). And I'm serious about it RROD'ing. Luckily I bought the replacement plan (again) the last time it bit the dust.

I think the woodgrain is rad. I also really like the placement of everything. There's an obvious foreground, and background. The best thing about it is that it doesn't look like every other T-Shirt in the world. It's ok to do things differently, and I think more people should. Well done Kathleen.

I love the two pieces, but not together on the same shirt. If the shirt had had only the wood-grain or the watercolor-esque image, I would have been more inclined to buy.

It is kind of cute that it looks like one of the trees is dreaming. :-)

What's a day in the life of Kathleen like?

Besides design projects, at this time of the year there's always wood chopping and animal care. To balance sitting in front of a computer, I try to work outside everyday. I live in a rural community where I am also a mom, chicken wrangler, property manager, sometime art teacher, and whatever else is needed that day.

How did you get into art?

I just started drawing when I was young and haven't stopped making art in some form since then.

What advice would you offer to aspiring designers/artists looking to make a living with art?

The computer is just a tool. I think it's very important to spend time to get the basics down, drawing, painting, basic design and composition. Technology is important but artwork without the basic hand skills is not as interesting in my opinion. Then, find a niche, an industry where artwork is important to their success. Especially in this economic climate, you have to let whoever is paying you know what the value of your work is.

MAC or PC?

I prefer and have always used a MAC in my own studio, but PCs don't seem to be that much different.

Do you have any interesting hobbies or tales of intrigue? Do tell!

I don't know that it's a tale of intrigue, but I have a story about my experience with attack roosters. It's a long story so it's posted (temporarily) on my blog.

Any shout outs?

There are a lot of artists and designers in my local area and I have interviews with a couple of them on my blog, Andrea Lawson, Chuck Iffland of Mad Monkey Studio and Erik Hill of Grounded Designs.
