    Strong consideration for a buy.

I'll decide tomorrow morning when I'm done being bewitched by the moon's halo.
  • stablercakesaid 129 weeks ago

I think I don't get it, but the rendering is nice. Looks rad on the yellow.
  • Sheheryar786said 129 weeks ago

Interesting Idea, not for me though. Nice anyways!
  • AmericaPiesaid 129 weeks ago

I like it but I wish the men's shirt wasn't such a crappy color.

    That's nifty.
  • InsanePirateDragonsaid 129 weeks ago

Nice concept, probably a pass for me this time around.

But its a great idea about an iconic character.
  • miken3said 129 weeks ago

The tee looks great in Yellow. Maybe have the mens in red. Heather colour is too plain.

    I know, right?? =D

Anyway! I think you did the guys a real disservice by not letting them sport daisy yellow, mickey-mouse themed sardonic social critique tees, too.

Otherwise, I love your design, I love your side art, I *love* your portfolio, and if I were a more inappropriate person, I would express an inappropriate sentiment of affection towards yourself, based solely on your artistic prowess.

Oh wait, I am an inappropriate person... *innocent face*

(Hey kids! Fun fact! Did you know the word 'sardonic' comes from the Greek word 'sardonion', which was a Sardinia plant, which, when eaten, causes facial convulsions resulting in disturbing laughter, and ultimately death? =D)
  • simon sherrysaid 129 weeks ago

Nice one Scotty - a personal fave of mine (pretty much like everything in the sidebar!)
  • sonmisaid 129 weeks ago

i'm a personal fan of the yellow, too! but unfortunately we don't have guys shirts in yellow. the closest to it would be a cream. i think the heather grey will look nice in person, though, with the textures of the fabric contrasting the art!
  • Resistosaid 129 weeks ago

I`m really honoured to be a part of this.. and again i`m glad you`re liking the designs..just amazed..
  • rebecajeansaid 129 weeks ago

I like it, however, I'm not sure I'd buy it just based on the simple fact that I know people would ask me what is going on with the design and to be perfectly honest, I wouldn't know what to say. lol.
  • Resistosaid 129 weeks ago

    Cool, I can understand that..
Here`s the thinking behind it, or how it came about really.. for better or worse.

I was watching my nephew, watching cartoons on TV. Little man lost all function, just sat stunned..
I got to thinking about how through movies & televison, the light was being drained from him.

What is presented as the embodiment of youthful exuberance, seems to result in the opposite. It`s an image of oppposites.

This is simply a great piece of design. Sure it's a cool graphic, and the skill its executed with speaks for itself but the intelligence of this man shines through in all his work.
  • zomboysaid 129 weeks ago

awesome design. Linework simply stunning. Reverse engineering a camera into the face of cartoon character is not easy to achieve. Well thought out.

I saw Mickey in a gas mask at first glance. I'm really considering buying anyway, as it's still pretty creepy, but the gas mask would've been a no-brainer.
  • temidiensaid 128 weeks ago

If it was a yellow tee for the guys as well, I'd be all over this. Alas, too many greys in my collection and this would just get lost in the shuffle.
  • ChrissyFishsaid 128 weeks ago

I love the design, but I also with the overalls were red...

  • Oiseausaid 128 weeks ago

    SO AWESOME, this concept rocks!
  • Siouxansaid 128 weeks ago

I love the idea and it's a very sharp design... I just hate Mickey mouse so much I can't take the thought of wearing him around in any guise. I would hate for the more dullwitted to comment on it and express their love of Disney to me expecting a smile and getting a death glare.
  • DeadhedStevesaid 128 weeks ago

So I just want to make sure I get the message of the design right.
It's about how cartoons are portrayed as young and lively yet the cartoons/TV itself is actually sucking all the liveliness out of the children.

but.. but.. I love cartoons. =[
  • lolztuffsaid 128 weeks ago

    very cool and unsettling.

The rendering is beyond cool - so cool in fact that I'm tempted to buy the shirt and make up my own meaning when people ask (no offense but I'd never get the kid connection or the social satire aspect of the design if I saw this shirt in public - I'd just assume it represented Disney's production company.) Still - fantastic illustration!

Mr. Robinson - If I were in the room with you I would offer a round of applause. In fact, even though I'm sitting in my dorm looking at this and my roommate is doing homework, I'm going to applaud anyway. There we go.

What to say about this shirt. I'm floored. This is a beautifully simplistic design that flawlessly renders the concept. I love the monochromatic scheme - it adds to the creepiness of the whole image. The title is what really sends a little shiver up my spine, though. I have to think about all the little kids I know - neighbors, cousins, etc. - who were raised differently from me. I ran around outside, scraped my knees on cement, got sunburns and grass stains on my clothes. Way too many kids are raised in front of a television these days. Watching TV requires no creativity and it has lent to the modern American culture of laziness and obesity. I rarely watched movies as a child, and when I did they were of course the old Disney classics, which just makes this design all the more meaningful for me. One of my biggest things to harp on these days is the Disney channel which, in short, brainwashes children into watching soap operas at an early age.

tl;dr this is a fantastic design, you are a genius, and I'm buying this even though I really don't have the money.

  • damienmasonsaid 128 weeks ago

Love it, love it, love it. Fantastic work Scott!
  • firecoral417said 128 weeks ago

Nice idea. But I have a few problems with it.

    1. Mickey is the wrong color (should be black, not the grayscale equivalent as his shorts).

    2. I, personally, feel like the illustration style clashes with the texture on the camera.

    3. I find it kinda odd that his tail is only visible by his feet. Especially considering the angle he's turned at.

All that said, I love your portfolio...particularly the robots!! Also, I like that your "CTRL+V" shirt is more accurate than the one featured here recently... yours is actually paste, while the shirt sold here was glue.
  • CathieTsaid 128 weeks ago

Great great concept. Exhaustion can far from describe what Disneycorp has done to the classic Steamboat Willy. I dig the shirt a lot. I just hate wearing anything with Disney on it that doesn't have some sort of nuance of anti-Semitic propaganda aimed towards Walt himself.

So do I, actually, but if I have to live off of canned soup and (non-instant) oatmeal for a week to wear such a wonderful piece of art then so be it. I will think of the tee whenever I find myself pining for fresh vegetables. Love is all about sacrifice, mirite?
