I mean what is the world coming to these days? What kind of world has kids that havent seen the original TMNT movies?

A world where people were adults when those movies came out? Ever think of that?

I guess this site is not for me anymore. It seems it is all kid oriented stuff these days.

If you're familiar with the ORIGINAL TMNT series, you should remember Shredder's class phrase "Tonight I dine on turtle soup". Part of me always wondered if he meant the phrase literally. Thus, I couldn't imagine a more perfect evening for him.
As far as the 'kid oriented' comment is concerned... the original series debuted in 1987. I'd like to think people considered kids were not born prior to that.

I think the scars were on the right side of his face anyways, which would not be visible in this drawing.

I was 20 when the TMNT movie came out and managing a movie theatre next to a shopping mall. We had this movie forever. I easily got the Shredder reference and think its a great shirt.
FuzzyLogicsaid 130 weeks ago
Turtle Soup, as in most meat anything, isn't made from the skin, but rather the meat.
:o)
OMG. Look at this... ZOO MEAT?? lol.

Take a look see! Its going to be 1988 TMNT time travel to 2009!!!
Pung0said 130 weeks ago
I wasnt an adult when this movie came out, I was born the same year as this awesomeness. This isnt Kid-Oriented either, it's nostalgic for people like me.
I think someone is just living up to their username.
torakamikazesaid 130 weeks ago
The voice of Shredder in the original series was done by James Avery AKA Uncle Phil from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Sirknifesalotsaid 130 weeks ago
OMFG! HAHA. So good. I did not know that. I know Corey Feldman voiced Donatello in the movie.

But the printed graphics are GINORMOUS!
Freaking tone it down. Make them a tad smaller please. I can't wear these awesome shirts with graphics extending to the arm pits...

I think most of these comments have proved the kids have no clue about this reference. If anything this is a shirt for the late 20 - early 30 year olds....that's the age of the people that were present for the TMNT glory days.

Unless said pop culture reference would be Lewis Carroll (or Shel Silverstein or Roald Dahl or William Sleator).

Et tu, Brute?
So does that mean Teefury is no longer interested in curating "artistic shirts"?
Le sigh. I have seen original, artistic prints here in the past.
lolztuffsaid 130 weeks ago
Oh god I keep imagining Gilbert saying "Tonight I dine on turtle soup!"
jimiyosaid 130 weeks ago
If we had more legitimately good artistic designs that were submitted, we would print them. The hardest part about running a 24 hour site is having a pipeline of good art.
Despite the challenges, we balance and vary the genre of designs to attract a wide range of audiences. We have a nice selection of art and pop culture for the rest of the month. Sunday is a good day for art, as is next Wednesday.

saturninesaid 130 weeks ago
Jimiyo, I truly appreciate this reply. While I know not all shirts here can appeal to me personally, I was simply trying to shed some light on a comment other 'furians didn't seem to understand.
And I am much obliged to you for the tip. Are Sun. & Wed. typically more 'arty' days for shirts or is that only the case next week?
I would love to provide you with legitimately good artistic designs, alas, I have no artistic talent & am thus resigned to consuming rather than creating.
