I dig this before I even realized it was a pun/homage to Dali. My only gripe is the little dude by the wheel, he seems kinda funky... still, it's a groovy design. Unfortunately Heather is FTL. I probably woulda bought it if the men's were also on that blue...

Urchin said: Aww... guys got screwed on the shirt color again. You can barely see the guy at the bottom, or the shadows...
I would have bought this if the guy's was the blue color.
Gerc said: The grey on grey of the guys shirt is a strange choice.
I much prefer the blue on the girls shirt. Maybe its a make up for the weird 'boob arms' shirt yesterday.
Note to artists or teefury or whoever; please don't gimp the guys version of the shirt to some boring color for the sake of being the guys version of the shirt; color is a good thing.
Agreed! Heather gray ruined it for me! I love Dali, but not so much VW's. BTW: the little guy represents Dali or his father (It's in all his painting, well, 85% of them) Dali represents himself as a small person, if there is another man in the painting who is larger, it is his father. Look at his link on the right to the original painting that he got the idea from, far in the background is two men walking together, aka his father and Dali. :)
also not enough obscure detail to be a Dali-like picture in my opinion. Most Dali's you would stare at for a while and see figures or other objects within the main objects...
I like Heather Gray when very slim fitting (such as American Apparel).
Teefury does not have this slim fit for me, so I will not buy Heather Gray here. (I do love the shirt style here though - I wouldn't want every shirt I have to be AA!)
Gray on gray this time is just funk. Not funky. Funk.

Yes! AA ONLY 4 ME TOO! :D
Will only buy from here if it is a MUST HAVE due the shirts not being AA ;(
I was wondering if your able to get these T's in kids size, I hate the kids patterns and was looking for some cool T's like these to give my son. He would go crazy over the "Dali meets VW" by Marioval Verdealfaro.
Dont really understand people who say they like these shirts but not enough to buy one b/c of shirt color, or location of the pic, etc, etc. $9 to get a one of a kind shirt from some amazing artists seems like an incredible deal to me any way you look at it.
Please reprint the guys shirt in blue. Please. I love this design. Dali is awesome, VWs are awesome, so this shirt should be awesome. And it is, if you're a girl. Why grey on grey? If the bus had any color in it, grey would be fine. But as it is, you lose so much of the punch the picture has because it blends into the background. Please just say "whoops! grey? where did that come from? must have hit the wrong button when we put this up, of course it's in blue!"
Love you guys, but gotta take a stand for this one.

It so absolutey is one of the greatest deals and best prints I've seen on the net on a wonderful daily basis.
But they do like to hear from their community. They really do listen.
Yet another reason why this company is so FURIOUS!
I don't really think it represents Dali all that much. Just not sure why people this is so fantastic. I remember it on DBH and thought exactly the same thing and was flabergasted as to why it received so many votes. My opinion hasn't changed.
Mr.X said: I don't really think it represents Dali all that much. Just not sure why people this is so fantastic. I remember it on DBH and thought exactly the same thing and was flabergasted as to why it received so many votes. My opinion hasn't changed.
I don't think the intention is to represent Dali so much as to cite him as the inspiration behind the piece. To me, it's very clear that this is a Dali-inspired design.
Also, I don't understand why people are complaining that it's not as detailed as a Dali painting would be. Duh. Dali didn't make it, and I don't think it's supposed to be mimicing any Dali painting...it's just a surrealist work that happens to have been inspired by surrealism/Dali/etc.
Besides, if any work as detailed as a Dali painting were printed on a tee shirt, I feel like all of that detail would be as good as lost due to the difference in proportion. Can you imagine The Hallucinogenic Toreador on a tee shirt?? So much would get lost in translation. I think it is the simplicity and the lack of small details in this design that allows it to succeed as a tee shirt print.
Personally, I love the design. I think it's whimsical, random, and humorous. Great work. As a lover of surrealism and all things pre-1980, I will probably buy this. :)
Love the shirt.
I have a VW and Dali happens to be my favourite artist.
I also have the temptation of st. anthony hanging in my room.
Seems to be perfect for me.
Picking one up.
Thanks Mario.
Hey to all !

so your saying you don't see the obvious odes to dali?

I think you might want to come out from under that stone.
A word from the curator: Surrealism has always been my favorite art movement, and Dali is of course one of the most interesting artists in the bunch (did you know he did the logo for Chupa Chups, my favorite lollipop?). That iconic mustache is the perfect accessory for this Dali-inspired van, which parodies Temptation of St. Anthony.
Tell us the background of this design. Actually there is not much background. One day I started scribbling on my sketch book, then moved onto the computer and taraaan Dalis’ vw van was born!
Most of my work is done without a reason behind it... I just enjoy working on stuff. What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you? I grew up surrounded by art, my dad was an art teacher and my mom instilled and pushed my brothers and me to develop and create stuff. After a while you learn and you develop your own style sooner or later... living in such a nice place as Costa Rica lets you appreciate life, family and friends. Things in the tropics are pretty awesome and calm, and after a while you learn to go with the flow, love life and live plenty. What do you absolutely not want them to find out? It is my first submission EVER of any kind Name a few of your favorite things. Mountain biking, good music, cool images, days off, friends, my fiancé, soccer, work , movies, not in a any particular order What are your feelings about mythology? That's people on crack Would you rather win a Pulitzer prize, a gold metal, or a Nobel prize? A gold metal because it’s a prize that's celebrates your effort, not your ambition to succeed. Surfing vs. sailing: which would win the battle? Surfing.... by far, it is not only a sport, it is the community, the fashion, the reason behind everything Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much. I have so many shirts, somewhere in between 80-100. It is hard for me to pick a favorite. My favorite shirt has not been printed yet! Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium. I use to read a lot but not anymore, gaming is not for me, and watching movies is the time when I research, learn, get distracted, chill.... I have so many favorites it’s too hard to choose just one What inspires your work? Everything and everyone, you name it, the music I hear, the images I stare at, the food I eat, every day you learn something! Any shout outs? Hi mom, lalo, jo, tini, chichi, friends, taco and family!

As for the shirt I'm not really digging it. Also I agree that the heather color is bleh.
