Words from the Curator:
You almost wonder if it's just a falling star, a comet, or an asteriod about to hit the earth.
Tell us about this design:
This design is close to my heart. I'm really into silhouette designs, and I wanted to do something that expressed the wonder of looking up at the stars. The name comes from a song that also captures what I was going for here. This isn't actually the original design -- my computer crashed at the beginning of last year and I was stupid and didn't have a back-up. I recreated this design over the summer and I think it might look better than the original!
Tell us about yourself:
I'm a senior at Smith College currently looking into joining the design world after graduation, despite the fact that I'm majoring in government. For a while I worked for a local web design company, which was pretty rad. I'd like to continue doing web stuff and some graphic design and branding in the future, maybe even advertising.
Do you own alot of shirts?
If so, what's your favorite? I love tees. I pretty much exclusively wear tees and cargo pants/shorts. My favorite is probably Lions Are Smarter Than I Am: http://www.threadless.com/product/765/Lions_Are_Smarter_Than_I_Am
What inspires you?
Everything. Usually really random things and objects. I was at a lecture in an old library one time and I saw a really cool window and thought, "hey, it'd be awesome to do a t-shirt with a cool window like that." I find the better designs I do are the ones that aren't forced, but just whims I get.
How did you get into art?
I've always loved art. It's just been a part of who I am since I was little.
What would be your dream job?
I'd love to work for a really chill but professional design company.
What are a few of your favorite websites?
I love Threadless. I'm also addicted to twitter. http://www.smashingmagazine.com/ has also become one of my favorite sites in the past few months.
Any shout outs?
First and foremost, definitely TeeFury! Thanks for giving me this awesome opportunity. I also have to thanks everyone who has given me support and encouragement with this design, especially over at Threadless! Special thanks especially to FRICKINAWESOME and bhoomika, who always cheer me on. Thanks, everyone!

I love the side art... and I really like this shirt. Unfortunately, I have a round tummy, and I'm worried the curvature at the bottom of the image will accentuate that.

But when I look at the stars,
when I look at the stars,
when I look at the stars I see someone else
When I look at the stars,
the stars, I feel like myself

If its big enough to be a world destroyer, you'd probably end up incinerated then. And you wouldn't be able to watch it because it would come down to Earth too fast.

Why must you poo-poo on my 2012 fantasy?? I'm sure if it's big enough to destroy the planet, we'll be able to see it coming for at least a couple days. :-)
