A word from the curator:
I'm a huge pinball fan- growing up, my dad had one in the basement and we all spent a lot of loud afternoons flipping those paddles in an attempt to claim the high score (and the fame that would surely follow). Years later, the memories haven't faded and neither has our love of the game- my sister has her own pinball machine now, and we're still spending hours chasing that same goal of a perfect game. Long live the arcade, let's keep that metal ball rolling!
Tell us the background of this design.
There's no real story behind this, it's just one of my random mindblurbs. I wanted to do a pinball shirt, because pinballmachines are awesome. Then I figured, what's more awesome than a pinballmachine? A living pinballmachine. Combined it with Jimi Hendrix, and voila, you got yourself a really random design.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
I really really don't like cheese. Like, really.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
The fact that I'm secretly a robot might disturb a few people, so let's not tell em that.
Name a few of your favorite things.
Oldschool games, drawing, french fries, vikings, robots, t-shirts, peanut butter, pie, being an idiot, really random stuff.
What are your feelings about the moon?
The moon is cool. But it better not be spying on us, or I'll shoot a rocket in its eye.
Do you prefer Mario, Sonic, or Halo?
Mario. He's an italian plumber who is going on an adventure to save a princess, and while he does it he kills turtles, trips out on mushrooms and shoots fire. That a whole lot more awesome than a blue superfast hedgehog or a space marine dude. I mean, sure, Sonic and Halo were both fun, and I'm sure I've played Halo more and more intensely than Mario, but still, mario wins.
Pen vs. sword: which would win the battle?
Sword, easily. Swoop slash swing and the pen is in pieces, spilling all the ink inside. What's the pen gonna do? Write 'I'm retarted' on the sword, and draw silly pictures? Sounds like an easy guess to me.
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
Either 'Shoot the baddies' by Olly Moss (wearing that one as I type this), or 'Spiritual Symphony Fin' by Jeff Battocletti, both at Threadless. I just really really like how both of the prints look on the shirt. Both are one color prints. I think one color prints, when done right, are freakin awesome. The subjects are both cool too. A load of bad guys as shooting targets? Nice. A rockband made of gods/religious figures? Nice!
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
Hmm. I enjoy all three. Ultimately I'd say a good book. It's just much more open to your own interpretation, you visualize the story in your head. But you really have to take your time for a book. I used to love just diving into a book, reading for hours upon hours. Haven't done that in a while.
But on the other hand, seeing someone elses interpretation of a story on a big screen is also very awesome. There are so many genius minds in the world of film, I really enjoy watching the products of their imagination. The two people whose movies I really enjoy are Tarantino and Burton. They do their own thing, and pretty much every movie they've made is fucking awesome.
Favorite movie. That's hard. I'd say it's a tie between Reservoir Dogs, Boondock Saints, Pulp Fiction, The Big Lebowski, Pans Labyrinth and Sin City. I really can't name one best movie. There are so many awesome movies out there.
What inspires your work?
Anything can spark something in my brain. A story someone told me, a set of colors, a movie, somebodies art, a couple of words.
I love to browse through the awesome work of some people at Emptees, or Conceptart. Lot's of eyecandy there.
Any shout outs?
Moo!
Also, check out my new project, http://www.hereberobots.com. Yeah I'm shouting out to myself. Awesome. HEY DUDE! Hey man, whats up? Oh not alot, just getting interviewed and stuff. Cool cool. You should stop talking to yourself now. Aw alright. Seeya. Bye.
By the time this interview gets posted I should have things up and running. If not, stay tuned, haha.

And really, this isn't the Queen or the Pope or someone's mother we're talking about. The guy isn't sacred. I'd think Hendrix would find this humorous, himself.

Greatest musician of all time? Good thing that's not debatable or anything.

Perhaps you should try to consider that this is a tribute to Jimi. The artist used his lyrics to create a visual representation of what he imagines when he hears them. I think that any attempt to convey what you think about when you hear a song should be regarded as art. I'm sure Jimi wouldn't be as close-minded to the idea behind this design, he would probably have interest in the fact that an artist was willing to take the time to express their idea of what his music is saying. Lighten up, I'm sure if you asked Jimi... or John, Paul, George, and Ringo (for another example) if they would be offended by somebody creating something that honors their talent, they would feel honored instead of disappointed. Can I hear an "Amen" from my fellow TeeFurians?

Well, that's debatable. He's the queen or the Pope or someone's mom (metaphorically) to a lot of people. Personally, I don't think "Hey Joe you got a high score" is especially well written but whatever. I didn't like the last Hendrix shirt and I can't say I like this one much either but I'm happy that he's still on shirts this many years later in any case.

I like the print as a whole though and would consider getting this on a different shirt brand; black and Teefury just don't mix well, imo.
