Ah, it combines the two things i'm best at, pinball and listening to Jimi. Nicely done Sir Vissers
  • JustSupersaid 138 weeks ago

Pinball and guitar hero together for the first time. Fantastical!!
  • schudhrisaid 138 weeks ago

that is a real guitar, not guitar hero
  • Jayphoenixsaid 138 weeks ago

    That sideart robot is awesome!
  • adonahusaid 138 weeks ago

I am very, very upset by this. Jimi is by far someone I listen to for hours a day. I consider him to be far beyond anyone who has ever tried to touch music on a spiritual level. While I understand this is art, I feel that it directly discredits and makes a cartoon of the greatest musician of all time.
  • kgvectsaid 138 weeks ago

meow, I don't like this at all. I love the tentacled robot though. My god, make that a shirt and I WILL buy it!
  • Ando138said 138 weeks ago

That bottom sideart picture was printed here before but it wasn't quite the same. Guitar has been added in along with other things. Called "Noise Pollution".
  • smithistsaid 138 weeks ago

Pretty cool illustration and I don't see how it demeans him. It's just a neat drawing, Hendrix would probably want you to chill.
  • Stexesaid 138 weeks ago

I don't really get it. I mean I could understand it if it was someone from The Who (with their whole Pinball Wizard and Tommy and stuff)... but just seems like a weird mix with Hendrix.
  • steveomacsaid 138 weeks ago

the concept is a little confusing to me and the style of the drawing seems kind of amateur,as if drawn by a small child, but by looking at your great side art you are obviously a better artist and you can do better. i have to say that i do like the color combo. really love the tentacle robot and the wino robot.
  • ironpensaid 138 weeks ago

To say that drugs demean Jimi Hendrix is well... it's honestly dumb. His drug use and that of his peers was an inseperable part of the culture he was involved in. I'm not saying his insane amount of talent came from psychedelics, but it's not something you can remove from his image. Besides, the image only vaguely resembles Jimi Hendrix and more fits the bill of just a random 70s arena rock guitarist and a period pinball machine.

And really, this isn't the Queen or the Pope or someone's mother we're talking about. The guy isn't sacred. I'd think Hendrix would find this humorous, himself.

Greatest musician of all time? Good thing that's not debatable or anything.

Perhaps you should try to consider that this is a tribute to Jimi. The artist used his lyrics to create a visual representation of what he imagines when he hears them. I think that any attempt to convey what you think about when you hear a song should be regarded as art. I'm sure Jimi wouldn't be as close-minded to the idea behind this design, he would probably have interest in the fact that an artist was willing to take the time to express their idea of what his music is saying. Lighten up, I'm sure if you asked Jimi... or John, Paul, George, and Ringo (for another example) if they would be offended by somebody creating something that honors their talent, they would feel honored instead of disappointed. Can I hear an "Amen" from my fellow TeeFurians?
  • H3llM4rinesaid 138 weeks ago

I couldn't have said it better myself.

    Amen.

Well, that's debatable. He's the queen or the Pope or someone's mom (metaphorically) to a lot of people. Personally, I don't think "Hey Joe you got a high score" is especially well written but whatever. I didn't like the last Hendrix shirt and I can't say I like this one much either but I'm happy that he's still on shirts this many years later in any case.

    Cool :)
really liked the pinball video :D
  • JonBowerbanksaid 138 weeks ago

Did the "Family Guy" manitees choose the premise for this one?
  • pbanditosaid 138 weeks ago

Jimi's playing guitar left-handed, which is good.. but that is still a right-handed guitar. =\

I like the print as a whole though and would consider getting this on a different shirt brand; black and Teefury just don't mix well, imo.
  • ThirstyFlysaid 138 weeks ago

I love this design. It is fun and light-hearted. Life is about poking fun of lots of things--everything and everybody. The halftone patterns are really well used.

  • Dementedsaid 138 weeks ago

Hey guys, thanks for all the comments.
This design is just meant to be fun, nothing serious. I'm not trying to ridicule Jimi, or anything, I just combined two things I really like and made it into a really random design.

Well ok, I lied, JonBowVault is onto me. Does anyone have a big truck I could borrow? I need to bring these manitees back to the headquarters.

  • 308NATOsaid 138 weeks ago

I think you need a Federal License to transport Manatees

    Jimi or is it Prince???
  • jecrtsaid 138 weeks ago

Hendrix played right handed guitars upside down
  • HeyReputahsaid 138 weeks ago

i see why people are getting uppity about this design. trust me, i worship hendrix too. BUT, instead of getting into an internet argument, just don't buy the shirt, huh?
  • 308NATOsaid 138 weeks ago

Its only a five string to give more clearance for the looseness of the strings- or its Artistic License !!! ---There is that License thing again, we are so regulated
  • HeyReputahsaid 138 weeks ago

seems like you guys needa smoke a little of whatever jimi is smoking. i have NO idea what it is, but he seems very mellow.
  • Lisasaid 138 weeks ago

OMG, are you SERIOUS? Naw... you must just be joking.
Because anyone with a sense of humor wouldn't take this so seriously.

  • Dementedsaid 138 weeks ago

I think we need to settle this with a duel, Mista-j. Cheesers vs non-cheesers. Let the cheesy battle of cheeseness begin!

Ew I said cheese way to many times now.

your 'i feel' only applies to your opinion on whether or not it 'directly discredits', not to whether or not hendrix is 'the greatest musician of all time'.

here: 'makes a cartoon of someone who i feel is the greatest musician of all time.'

as for the shirt: eh. it's been a while since i've seen a shirt on here that i've even debated getting. granted, that's probably good, because i'd be broke and many-shirted if i liked them all. but well-drawn regardless!

You're right. Thank you for telling me what I was thinking. I was confused all together. Its a shame they deleted the post about how this artist probably hasn't every before heard Hendrix because he won't turn off the DMB. Like I said, this is art. I can debate it. In no way did I offend the artist, so I don't know why some of you are getting your panties in a bundle over what I said.
  • Dementedsaid 138 weeks ago

Hold on, who said I never even heard Hendrix? Why the heck would you think I'd make a Hendrix tee if I'd never listened to it? SleepingBeauty I love his music.
Kind of a ridiculous comment if you ask me.
  • adonahusaid 138 weeks ago

I'd love for you to show me which concert of his that you have seen where he is wearing a watch. And the man used drugs to experiment with his music, not for some joke. This song had meaning to him. It was almost about himself. Look up Hey Joe at Isle of Wight. Tell me if the feeling he put into that song is in some way related to the cartoon you put on this shirt.
  • Dementedsaid 138 weeks ago

    Wow.
You really shouldn't make such a big deal out if this.
Who cares if he wore a watch or not? I like his music, I don't know every single detail of his life. You really shouldn't look into the meaning of what I designed here, cause I sure as heck didn't. There is no deeper meaning, as you could have read in the description. I like pinball, I like Hendrix. I combined em.

You seem to think he was holy or whatever. I just liked his music. You should chill out and don't take everything so freaking serious.
  • Pyrozmenacesaid 138 weeks ago

I really like this design, I was having a pretty bad day and it made me giggle! :)

    @ Adonahu
This is a tee-shirt community where we try to show our artists respect no matter how much we like/dislike their designs. Try not to take everything in life so personally or you'll never get out of it alive! :)

    Omg dude you're hilarious!
Of all the aspect of this shirt the watch is the one detail you question! Not the smoke forming words, or the 'macaroni arms' with no elbows, or the pinball machine playing itself, or inded the fact he's half pinball machine, cos I tell you I haven't ever seen any of that stuff in his concerts!

Someone needs to go outside and have some life! ;)
