I'm a fan of Chris' work and am fortunate enough to be able to call him a friend. In fact, he is responsible for my avatar here and I'm proud to be able to plaster it all over the internet. I love his style. It's simple, clean and distinctive. It's great to see some of his work make it to a broader audience!
sorry to all the people complaining but this is a funny shirt, star wars or not. i think its fine to have more than 1 shirt of any subject matter as long as they are well done.
i love the concept, but im not a huge fan of the glasses, and DEF not a fan of having my boobs highlighted by robot faces o.O placement is no good for the girls shirt. nice design though! Star Wars FTW!
I agree with Melbel, not everyone likes starwars, and even those who do presumably have other interests. Can we stop with the starwars stuff now? 2 in one week is ridiculous.
Also, I honestly only thinks this style works if it's original. If he created something that wasn't a reference in this same style, I'd buy it. It's too cliche this way. In my opinion references only work with realism, better yet hyper-realism, because cartoons have been too overdone in this genre already.
Although funny, it looks a bit too much like something Harry Knowles, Kevin Smith or Comic Book Guy (grotesquely obese people) would wear...sooooo, I'm gonna pass.

wtfs wroung with fat people??? im not fat myself but common dude..
Wee hee! Love it! One eyed glasses for R2 are awesome. The placement of C3PO's mouth right over the girl's nipple is a hilarious happy accident.
I can't wear it because I'm one of those clumsy dolts who can't wear white without magically finding ketchup in the air and having it find my shirt. I would buy it and dye it, but R2 would look weird in another color.

HAHA! I so hear you on the ketchup thing. I've put on a white shirt before and have had it stained within the first 5 minutes. I was like "WTF!!!"
I understand TeeFury would like constructive criticism for the artist, so I am going to try to be as civil as I can be in trying to explain how this could be improved. The instant I saw this design, I was terribly upset about the text on the shirt. It has no meaning at all, except to explain why the droids are disguised. The font of this text also upset me, because it didn't stick to the theme of Star Wars. I'm not saying it had to be the exact SW font, but it should have had a similar style. The placement of the text is boring, placed right under the design, and not integrated into it in any way. The next thing that I think should have been omitted is the glass(? [glasses?]) on R2D2. He doesn't have an eye, the mustache would have sufficed just as well. Also, the Groucho Marx glasses are far too cliche for a design- so I don't see any reason why they should be put on my two favorite Star Wars characters. Now, I don't dislike this design entirely, so let me point out what I did like. After removing the "disguises" from R2D2 & C3P0, the vector illustration is quality work (except perhaps the black rectangle used for C3P0's mouth). The shaded areas of each of the vectors is really great, I have actually been having a lot of trouble trying to perfect that skill so it looks genuine. The artists has great skill in his design, but the content is lacking. I tend to usually really enjoy Jimiyo's work, but this one just isn't doing it for me. That all being said, who am I to judge? He is the one making designs that are selling... I just hope that if you read this, Jimiyo, I don't mean any disrespect with my criticism, I am just trying to give you ideas to help you improve, and I hope at least something I said will benefit you.
I don't care about the people whining about 2 star wars in one week.. that darth tut was AWESOME!!!! This one... I chuckled, but would never wear the shirt.

Wow, seriously, wtf does that have to do with anything? How is that even a critique of the shirt? "Try harder next time not to make something a fat person might wear." I somehow think the artist would be extremely flattered to have Kevin Smith wear his shirt. Seriously how fat-phobic can you be?
Funniest one I've seen on TeeFury for Star Wars parody!
Can you imagine twin children wearing these? To me... that would be hilarious. :D

Definitely agree on the lack of an 'inspired' font style to go with the SW theme. Besides isn't it supposed to say, "These are not the droids you are looking for."?
Teefury should also consider easing up on the *yawn* SW shirts for awhile. Let's get back to cool original designs please...
My acting teacher actually said that line! I sent him and email stat. I am a big fan of the Star Wars and all shirts that are so themed. I really like this, and I love how it looks like R2 is sticking his tongue out, I mean if he had one, of course.
I think that because the shirts are new every 24hrs, there is really no reason to complain/freak out. Just be patient, and come back tomorrow.
Tis a sad day...TeeFury has become a parody of itself. Long gone are the days of creative artwork. Now it is just Star Wars and other comic book crappola. Welcome to Woot. Next on the agenda...Children's sizes.
I can honestly say, these are NEVER the droids I'm looking for.
I find it so surprising how often "easily saleable yet uncreative pop culture" is the order of the day here. Especially considering what this site was intended to be at the start: a place for true artists to put creative, original work on a shirt.
Wow. This is getting some serious hate. I don't like the font but other than that I think this is a slammin' design. I think some of you people are crazy, but a lot of you have said nice things. You guys are cool cats.
And yes, there have been 3 star wars designs in the last month but there's also been about 4 other designs that I bought and I almost never buy shirts anymore so they're doing something right. You guys need to get over yourself because overall, nothing about this site is going downhill.
If you like to complain, then I guess your comments make sense. If you genuinely think this site is gone to pot, you are foolish.
One thing I like about teefury is that there's a new shirt up every day. Another thing I like about teefury is that they have a very wide variety of designs. If you don't like the shirt, wait a few hours. If you think they fail a more often than not in your opinion, shop somewhere else. This comments page has been getting uglier and uglier with all the negativity. I've got a bunch of teefury shirts and I really like what they're doing. They go through phases with every curator but they're still pretty varied.
I don't like this shirt and I wasn't down with the Darth Vader one either but I didn't get on board a giant hate train for the site.
I am sure TF would not be printing these if there wasn't a good demand/market for such shirts. Why not quit with the complaining and let them run their business?
JonBowerVault said: Although funny, it looks a bit too much like something Harry Knowles, Kevin Smith or Comic Book Guy (grotesquely obese people) would wear...sooooo, I'm gonna pass.
awh. But if they made stuff overweight people couldn't wear, I couldn't wear stuff D:
Olechka said: I am sure TF would not be printing these if there wasn't a good demand/market for such shirts. Why not quit with the complaining and let them run their business?
There's a good demand/market for lots of things that shouldn't be sold.
Come on guys.. nobody MAKES you comment everyday. If you don't like the shirt then move on and come back tomorrow.
Nobody is going to like everything here. There are plenty of artistic shirts that get just as much Cinderella as the pop culture stuff. There is good and bad in all categories.
Besides, everybody knows if you want something done right you do it yourself. If all you're going to do is complain about the designs they print then submit your own and see what happens.
Olechka said: I am sure TF would not be printing these if there wasn't a good demand/market for such shirts. Why not quit with the complaining and let them run their business?

I will presume this one is out of whatever was left. But when there are shirts left, where do you go to order them? If they didn't have this shirt in my size, I'd still by a smaller shirt for my son if any were left.
I typically don't curate designs that are too esoteric, but I found the juxtaposition of some odd robotic buddha with a cycloptic miniature star gazing telescope facility too odd not to pass up, especially with disguises. The design is just weird and doesn't make sense, but it's cleanly done, so I decided it would be good for Teefury.
Tell us about this design:
Actually, this design evolved from a simple sketch a good friend made while we were tossing around a few ideas for t-shirts. It's a completely ridiculous riff on the classic movie quote, but at the same time, you can imagine these two getting into exactly that kind of scenario.
Tell us about yourself, I heard you are a photographer?
I am an illustrator by trade, but in the past two years I've being trying my hand at photography. I guess I've found a niche with quirky toy photography, and my pics have been very well received on Flickr (flickr.com/powerpig). My most popular pics, though, combine action figures and wild chipmunks that inhabit my parent's backyard. If you've seen a picture of an Ewok staring down a chipmunk or a Scout Trooper riding on the back of a chipmunk, well.. that was my doing.
What's a day in the life of powerpig like?
Hmm. Well, it starts with coffee and usually ends with videogames. In between there's often fast food, trips to toy stores, quiet sobbing, and photography. Okay, I lied about the quiet sobbing. It's uncomfortably loud, actually. :D
If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?
That's a broad question! I feel like the politically correct thing to say is that I'd start a children's charity or save the environment, but that's boring. And children annoy me. So what I'd really like to do is find a cure for stupid—it's a scourge that is clearly out of control.
What advice would you offer to aspiring artists?
It's not enough just to be good at what you do; you've also got to make sure that what you do is seen and appreciated by others.
MAC or PC?
18 years of Mac. I've never owned a PC!
I bet you get this alot... so... Your last name... That Tim guy...
I guess that's the caveat of having a relatively rare last name; people just assume you're all related. One time when going through customs in Chicago, an agent made a couple of snide remarks to me, as though I was somehow complicit just because I shared a surname with that psychopath. I really thought about changing my name to something common, like Brown... but wow, yeah. That would have backfired.
