I loved it until I read JIMIYO at the bottom of the print. I don't mind when an artist signs their work, but that was a bit much for me.

Pretty sick, but Jimiyo's Jimiyo at the bottom messes with it.

was hoping for this. but mother is still sick. just wish it wasn't on white!

I guess the art is okay, but in my opinion, it just doesn't look fantastic on a shirt. And like people have said, a little stupid to throw your name on there.

Personally, just the name makes me want to buy it less..

great design!! flows amazingly... but giant JIMIYO name- not so great. its advertising like a "BRAND". i would def buy this but i can see people asking me, "what's that say?" text is 99% of the time never a good idea.

I REALLY like this. But it's similar to so many shirts I already own. Gonna sleep on it. Congrats once again Jimiyo!

great details and very nice flow of elements.

I love everything about this design -exceeeeept that skull in the upper-left. He's just kind of tacked on, floating there.

Unlike the (so far) majority though, I don't mind the text/tag at the bottom, nor that it's on white.

Then again I have slightly darker skin so I think white looks "good" on me (ish haha..)

Plus the text for me isn't super loud or calling away from the rest of the design. If the text were more legible, I might think so, but as is it's pretty swirly and difficult to discern.

I dunno. If not for that skull just kind of lounging... I might still end up getting it, I'm just gonna have to mull it (mullet?) over throughout the day...

Also, the woman's face reminds me of some of Sylvia Ji's recent work:

Would be good without the gangsta letters at the bottom. If I look at it from top down it looks like a sci fi design until I get to the gang letters at the bottom. OH that's what it reminds me of. The Infinity Gauntlet series in Marvel Comics from way back. :D

I think that Simly Spray stuff that Melbel is always marketing would work good on it. I'll have to pass this time but I've already got two Jimiyo tees anyhow. :P

Oh, duh. I guess I should check the interview before posting redundant observations lol... regardless, you obviously nailed that aesthetic as it's the first thing I related it to. Good job.

I don't see how white seems to instantly translate to being negative. I don't really see how this design in particular would work nearly as well on anything but white.

I like Jimiyo's style, and it didn't occur to me until now that Sabrewulf was also his. That shirt is one of my favorite shirts, art-wise.

I don't mind the signature in the design. Any artist has the right to have his/her name on a creation. While most of the shirts on these sites don't have signatures or initials on them, and while I like it better that way, I see this in particular as a different story. The community here, assuming they're checking regularly, would know who Jimiyo is, in theory. I think it matters more that a regular artist / curator for the site we all visit and purchase from signs his work. If it wasn't blended into the design as it is, I'd like the look a bit less, but at least it wasn't some neon-green, comic-sans plastering across the top of my chest.

Haha, interestingly enough, right after I posted the above comment I noticed that I also bought the second design on the right sidebar, when it was printed. I don't recall its name, though.

So now I own three Jimiyo works (that I know of).

I REALLY don't understand why everyone's bent outta shape about jimiyo's name at the bottom. Considering most of the people here are t-shirt fanatics, it's almost a cool cult reference to have his name (him being the a god father of all that is t-shirt imo) at the bottom of the shirt.

the text design reminds me of the lettering you'd see on the rear windshields of big-rimmed cars that bounce up and down when their horns honk.

Not to be insulting to Jimiyo at all, but the difference between him and the two you mentioned is that both are designer names, and neither of them are actually the name of the designer.

Also Jimyo rules, no doubt. I've checked this site every day since I bought my first tee last Summer and his work's always quality.

This is my first good post at TeeFury also. I used to do the FIRST! thing all the time but that devil bird's always ahead of me.

I really like this design and his other skull design, but the name seriously kills the shirt for me big time. Hopefully he makes the signature much much smaller on his upcoming shirts.

I would totally rock a Jimiyo shirt, like a band shirt.

I don't think this shirt is it, though. Not really feeling the combo of artwork + logo. :/

no it just works really well on the shirts that are white. excuuuuuuse me.

Great design....but you lost me at the name....yes every artist should sign their artwork but....not one bus bc the signature...they buy bc of the design....so if possible let redo this one and remove the name....and yes colors would look cool on this ..but very little color...like accent colors...

Yeah... not liking this shirt much. I love the girls face but.. its like a piece of its own.. and then the skull is separate, and then the name is another section, and then the eye at the bottom. It just doesn't have good flow. Plus I just really don't like Jimiyo's name plastered in there. And white shirts = fail.. although I dunno what else this would look good on.

Guess it's just not for me.

Nope, the name isn't an issue with me at all. There is so much awesomeness and win going on in that shirt that I barely notice it. *shrugs* I just wish I didn't abhor white tees so much. The flip side to that is that I just don't see it working on any other color except white, so I don't want to dye it. Plus, that is just ODD to me. It's like buying a painting and adding trees and stuff to it. Not knocking those who dye their shirts at all, just saying...

Never will complain about the art, but something about winning/subbing/printing a design at one of the companies you work for seems weird. I would rather a see a brand new artist then someone so established that the landed a contest site job..Not to take away from your art, but it's like Michael Jordan getting a job for the NBA as a analyst and every few months he likes to show his own clips..just seems kinda odd..

there's really no need whatsoever to take a stab at me, in your last sentence. i am reiterating concrete evidence of fellow users' admiration for jimiyo's work that can be found throughout the site.

also, you should probably run your posts through MS word or similar before posting.

great art, bad choice of color for it to be printed on though - surely a 'natural' colour or even a pale brown would have been better - and as for the "signature" on the bottom, that's the clincher stopping me from bothering buying this shirt.

Fair enough if you KNOW Jimiyo or are patient enough to have to answer a million times 'what's Jimiyo?', then go for it.

Looks cool, not my style though. Fantastic detail but I wish there wasn't any text. I can see that it is text and I know that it's your name, but it's really hard to read.

I do think Jimi is talented, but I was just pointing out that the average person will say, "Huh? IMYO? What does that mean?" because sorry, sig or not, only internet t-shirt geeks will recognize the name.

I actually kind of agree with you. Seems kind of unfair, right? I mean I'm not on the inside, maybe they didn't have enough submissions to get a no-name or it could just be because people really love Jimiyo's designs on here and want them for 9$, no clue, but it does almost seem like a conflict of interest.

Not that I'm complaining, really, just a "baroo?" moment.

yeah, the skull kinda throws the whole thing off balance a bit, but i love the rest of it :) i mean, i'm not a HUGE fan of the lettering at the bottom (darn hard to read) but maybe jimiyo felt he wanted to "brand" it because he took inspiration from another artist? a way to make it his own? i dunno...just speculating. i won't pretend to know the artist's intentions. and i think it's cool that jimiyo still posts work being a curator. it shows that he loves what he does and is actively involved in it. kudos to you, dude ;)

I'm not saying people will know who he is and I never said I thought they did, I'm saying that whether or not strangers know I shopped at TeeFury and not Target isn't a big deal to me since this design, including his tag at the bottom, is really really stellar.

Just got Jimiyo's last design in the mail today. I'm done with white shirts though. No matter how freakin' careful I am it gets trashed after one wear. Even if I'm not wearing it, it just somehow gets dirty, even if its one tiny black spot, its so darn noticeable. So white can get lost, IMO.

A lot of you are saying "No" because it is on a white shirt. I did the same thing to a previous shirt, but then got it as a random in the grab bag. I took some rit dye ($1.50 at walmart) and dyed it, and it came out even more awesome than before. So don't just say no if white is not your color. You can make it any other color you want.

Men's small and women's large are roughly equivalent in size (though with a different cut, including much shorter sleeves and a more tapered fit for women).

It's a freakin' sweet design. I think I'd prefer it as a print than a shirt, though. It's a little busier than what I usually wear and I'm not a fan of white. But the illustration is amazing.

Awesome art work... Wouldn't put it on a tee. And yes, the big bold JIMIYO does kind of ruin it for me. Would be a really cool poster or something, not a tee...
