I kind of disagree with this shirt. Stealing isn't cool.
However, I ADORE the one on the side, with the couple hudding speaking a speech bubble of flowers.
I think that one should be printed, and would be really beautiful on a sandy colour or a really light pink, or a brown or a pale sage-ish green.
(hint hint)
hmmm.... no. sorry, it isn't light-hearted enough to make it seem like stealing is funny, just that it's ok. It's really not. I don't like people takin' my stuff...
Your work isn't for me either, kinda depressing and weird, but I DO want to compliment yet another artist for having a style uniquely their own. Tho it's not for me, I encourage you to hold on to your individuality and run with it.
Good luck :)
I agree that the designs on the side would almost all make better shirts. I do appreciate the 8-bit style of the current tee, but not one that I would wear.
First off, let me say that stealing is NOT cool...but this shirt definetly is! I dont know why everyone is up in arms over this tee. I mean, it is clearly intended to be humorous, which it is! The feature 8 bit thief with the strange smile and fingers in the air (which sort of looks like the middle finger...makes it even funnier!!!) is great. Very funny and a great concept. I laughed at this for a good five minutes. Where is everyone's sense of humor today? Love the shirt, love the side art!!!
i love that all those people complaining about not liking stealing more then likely have watched T.V. and movies online and downloaded music. HYPOCRITES!!
This has to be one of the funniest shirts I've seen in quite a long time. Im gonna have to get this shirt. People should lighten up a touch and enjoy the humor!
Not really feeling this shirt...but if any of the designs on the side get printed, especially the one on the far bottom, please let me know. I'd buy that one in a heartbeat. :O
i can see how this would be a greaaat and ironic concept, a greaaat bit of social commentary, but i wouldn't wear it just like i wouldn't wear a swasika into public, hoping to bump into a nazi before i bump into a jew :)
If you guys knew who this guy was, then you'd realise why this shirt is so funny and ironic.
This guy is one of the biggest victims of art theft on the internet.
This cracks me up, especially because everyone is all like "stealing is NOT COOL, man!" F*** 'em if they can't take a joke, I say, and double f*** 'em if they can't get a reference.
I find it even more amusing considering some of the recent debacles w/ people drawing over photographs, etc.
Tee Fury should add a button that says "Click here if you don't like this shirt, but like the art on the side." Maybe this way I wouldn't have to read the same comment like 100 times on every single shirt. As a bonus, this button should take people to a separate page that reads, simply, "Nobody cares, jackass."
I really like this shirt, I actually really want it but it's too plain, there doesn't seen like much is going on, also shipping to UK costs $9 extra so it's not really worth it.. :[

diggin the design btw!
So true. They never took a pen from a FederalReserve, or supplies from work etc... etc... etc...
At least in the past. I'm sure they are all now wonderful Buddhist people like myself.
:D
Geeze, Wadcity...
Tell us how you -really- feel.
Here's the thing, not everyone who is passing on the shirt (like me) is doing it on some moral "Stealing suckz!!1!" kick. Some of us just aren't too fond of the design for whatever reason. I personally don't like most white shirts and think the design is too big (for me). The art on the side is much more my "style" (but I would still balk if they were on a white tee). Seeing that there is this nifty little comment box down here, I'm pretty sure that means I (as well as everyone else regardless of whether they want to purchase the shirt in question or not) have the option to, ya know...leave a comment.

Brilliant. I want to be able to click on someone's name and add them as a FuryBuddy. :D
I'll try to shut up now.
yeah i don't see what the whole uproar is over this t shirt. I think it's funny. Especially in this day and age where "stealing" is such an abstract concept. Especially in a world where giant corporations are essentially stealing from people and living lavish lifestyles while everyone else suffers. Or maybe its the fact that i don't know anyone who buys music anymore. Whatever the reason, this shirt is pretty damn funny and really not all that upsetting.
I like the fact that it does look like he's flippin you the bird. Im a manager in retail and if you steal stuff, i have to unfortunately mark it up so the honest consumer has to pay more for what ignorant kids do, but i was a kid and i too stole stuff. Part of growing up lol. I should buy this tee for my loss prevention manager. He could wear it as he catches people. I think that be funny. Good job though... Made me laugh for awhile
lol I love this and I would so buy it if my school wasn't ghetto with things getting stolen all the time so the administration would take it totally seriously. Stupid administration. ALSO love the emo one on the side. It makes my life :)
no need to get your panties all bunched up Wadcity. I think some of us here just really dislike white shirts and huge binary prints with inside jokes that will likely get "certain people" followed relentlessly around best buy by secret security shopper types.
8-bit is cool for certain things for sure, like that part. stealing is whatever, we've ALL stolen something in life i'm sure. seems most people love the side art, guess i'm the only one who doesn't really care for it. but as someone wrote earlier it is a pretty unique style and should be commended for that! def not into emo, self-harming, depressing, suicidal charmeleon though lol
oh and about what the thief is standing on, i likend it to 2 things. a band-aid was the first thought and my second was silly putty after you stick it to the news paper and spread it apart. funny stuff

Idiotic analogy.
=====
I dig the art style for being quite unique. Kudos.
The side art and the tee itself look like they're from two completely different artists. That's not necessarily a "bad" thing as it's good to incorporate multiple styles/tactics... but like everyone else has pretty much said already, I think anything on the side would look mucho more groovyo. Ah, well. The pixelated dude standing on top of a cheeseburger bun it is.
"Dapper as rattata" and "I Download Books" are full of win. If they were't on white shirts, I'd be all over them like...well, like security is all over me when I go to CVS.
sigh to all of you that down this shirt.
i think it is new, and interesting, and DOES NOT have a concept that isnt saying "go take one hundred dollars out of your mom's purse".
its an old robber, folks. thats their profession, of course they love it :]
A word from the curator: I am going to wear this shirt while I download things I can't find in stores :)
Tell us the background of this design. due to my cowardliness i find stealing very hard, but when i DO do it, i really boast about it alot. damn it feels good to be an 8-bit gangster. What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you? i have "don't panic" tattooed on my wrist. What do you absolutely not want them to find out? i panicked when i was getting it. Name a few of your favorite things. wheelchairs, mermaids, starched collars, ballerinas, bows and drawing satan. What are your feelings about drawing? i have schizoaffective disorder and refuse to take medication, so drawing is my outlet to vent mental-frustration. i'd be dead if it weren't for drawing. represent. Do you prefer sun, rain or snow? i had a dream last night that the sun was raining (reigning) down cockroaches and i was really confused, then i got in a go-kart and drove to an orgy hosted by Matt Berry. god damn the sun.
i like rain, though. Goth vs. emo kid: who would win the battle? as long as each side are attacking themselves as well as the enemy, we might find them at a stalemate. self-harmers are actually double-agents. Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much. it's not a t-shirt, it's a cowboy shirt with tassels. i wear it with a big bolo tie + neckerchief and collar tips. rockin'.
my favourite "T"-shirt would be my Daniel Johnston "Hi, How Are You?" shirt. my reasons are private but obvious. Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium. reading. 120 days of sodom by the marquis de sade. i hated it so intensely, but it drastically changed my life. What inspires your work? well, in this picture, video-games and irony! Any shout outs? of course!

I think that, like all things, the coolness of stealing depends on context.
Someone pickpocketing a wallet? Hey that socks!
Methodically lifting every single item in an entire town in the game Morrowind and making a huge pile in the wilderness? Freaking awesome!
Checking out library books and never returning them? Lame!
Downloading your favorite band's new song a week before any radio station or retail store has it? Super-rad!
