the line work is great and I love foxes, but "cool and jazzy" doesnt have to mean muted, dull colors :(
I love the portfolio, this one just seems a little too muted.

Okay, this is what PayPal is telling me.

Paypal does not allow your country of residence to ship to the country you wish to

And both are United States oa America. This is so strange and annoying. Is anyone else having this issue?

When I've seen people have this issue in the past, signing out and waiting a few minutes has fixed it. Since that isn't working for you right now, I think our tech guys might have to look into this. Very sorry for the inconvenience, but we'll work to get this solved.

Personally, I love the muted colours. Reminds me of the covers of old Russian books my grandfather had, containing all the stories of Lys Myketa (a Slavic trickster fox). Consequently, this is my first purchase here (thank Adder for sending me over).

I LOVE the linework and the way the colors blend so well in the fox. But as a former musician... seeing the clefs backwards is just bit unnerving. It just feels wrong. (And to those critics out there, yes, I realize it's because the music curled.)

Love the colours, hate the name. "Song Fox"? It sounds like one of those posters with the black background and a distant planet with waterfalls and rainbows and dolphins orbiting it for some reason. Bleugh.

I love how the hat doesn't quite fit it, too. Like it stole it off a dead horn player, or something. I bought it.

Thanks for the support guys! I'm in TCI on vacation and the internet here is really sketchy so I'm just glad I got to see this design go up. Having a double print day with teefurycopy was a complete coincidence, but way cool. The day is mine! haha. Wonder if that's happened before?

If woot doesn't print a design you get to do what you want after 60 days. But I would keep on the lookout for the diving design, if you're interested in it.

I was considering the same thing. My biggest difficulty is figuring out how to actually make it in the desired format. As for ideas... if you want to please the whiners, stay away from anything with a blood stream.

Don't worry to much about "desired format"... All you gotta do is have a thought, doodle, and then it'll all fall into place. Or not. It's really not up to you to decide...

What I mean is, enjoy what you do first, enjoy it so much that you'll create it not because someone else might love it, but you will love it. Then that will lead to nitpicking. And then that will lead to great work.

And THEN worry about hitting a target audience. MAYBE. pokemon I know I'm not doing it.

Thanks for the advice. My problem is more that I have my idea and my doodle. I just don't have all those cool computer programs and skills that others have. I'm sure my design will be nit picked, because you can't please everyone... and my design might be geared more toward a certain audience. I'm cool with that, but I still want to give it a go. I'm just worried that I won't be able to go from sketch in by biochem notebook, to computer file which can be turned into a possible t-shirt.

Got zees shirt!

I skimmed through, and I don't think anybody's said what song the fox is singing. Could someone tell me? I wrote down the first two measures and played them on my piano, and they sounded nice, but I didn't recognize them at all.

Anyway, if anybody wants to play it and see if they recognize it, here's the first measure:

Key signature: Eb (Ab, Bb, Eb)
Time signature: 4/4
Treble notes (all eighth notes): Ab, C, G, Ab, F, G, Eb, D.
Bass notes (all quarter notes): F, C/Ab, F, C/Ab.

Yes, I was very bored. Sorry if I got any terminology wrong -- I don't know very much about music at this point.

I am so sorry I missed this one. Love it. Funny, like Bowler, I was curious about the tune. I've been reading music for a long time, and it wasn't hard, even backwards, so I read it and hummed it. The tune seems like something rather contemplative/introspective, almost melancholy even, but actually mainly sweet/dreamy, if a bit abstract and wandering--not at all what I was expecting from the picture, which made me think of something with a little more wink and swagger & well, howl to it. Still, even the jazzy/bluesy guys have always occasionally crooned something all starry-eyed and pop-philosophical, and you could modernize the idea as what would happen when a Cherry-Poppin Daddy type decided to kick it like a male Nora Jones.
Aside from the fact that it ain't necessarily a boy fennec anyhow... ;)

I like to imagine this little guy is singing My Funny Valentine. No idea why!

Tell us the background of this design.
Sometimes seeing a still photo makes a story pop into my head. I saw a photo of a fox that looked just like this one, mouth open and all. I think he was yawning in the photo, but I just felt like he was belting out a song. And that lead to this idea of him being all swell and jazzy.

How would you describe your style?
There was a time when I would have said that I didn't have a real style. I like to draw so many ways and so many different things. But as I look back over what I've done there is something about it that ties it all together. It's something to do with the softness of the lines. They're a little delicate. It's like when my piano teacher told me I really wasn't that good, but I could play the quiet parts quieter than anyone else.

If you could collaborate with anyone, who would you pick?
So many people. Does anyone want to collaborate with me? I'm open to suggestions.

What historical figure do you most admire?
The Third Duchess of Kent. That's all I'm saying.

If you weren't designing shirts, what would you be doing?
Cleaning the house.

Do you prefer dogs, cats, or monkeys?
It would sound so much more fun to say monkeys, right? Except that some friends of mine actually had a monkey and after their experiences, I'll be keeping my cat, thank you very much.

Soap operas vs. soap box derbies: which would win the battle?
My town actually holds an annual soap box derby every year. The highlight is watching the crowds run when the soap boxes go out of control and nearly plow into them, so definitely, definitely the soap box would win. The soap opera people can't run nearly fast enough in those outfits.

Describe the last shirt you bought.
It was sleeveless and it had some lace on it, a little bit of embroidery down the front.... is this what you meant?

What has been your favorite vacation or travel experience?
I was born in Paraguay but my parents came back home to the States on my 1st birthday. When I was 15 I got to go back and see all the places I'd always heard about. It was completely foreign, but at the same time really familiar, which was sort of amazing. Oh, and my honeymoon was really good too.

Any shout outs?.
To my cat Reef. Thank you for being a little less bad than a monkey. And to my friends and family. Same thing.
