Tell us the background of this design.
Sometimes seeing a still photo makes a story pop into my head.  I saw a photo of a fox that looked just like this one, mouth open and all.  I think he was yawning in the photo, but I just felt like he was belting out a song.  And that lead to this idea of him being all swell and jazzy.

How would you describe your style?
There was a time when I would have said that I didn't have a real style.  I like to draw so many ways and so many different things.  But as I look back over what I've done there is something about it that ties it all together.  It's something to do with the softness of the lines.  They're a little delicate.  It's like when my piano teacher told me I really wasn't that good, but I could play the quiet parts quieter than anyone else.

If you could collaborate with anyone, who would you pick?
So many people.  Does anyone want to collaborate with me?  I'm open to suggestions.

What historical figure do you most admire?
The Third Duchess of Kent.  That's all I'm saying.

If you weren't designing shirts, what would you be doing?
Cleaning the house.

Do you prefer dogs, cats, or monkeys?
It would sound so much more fun to say monkeys, right?  Except that some friends of mine actually had a monkey and after their experiences, I'll be keeping my cat, thank you very much.

Soap operas vs. soap box derbies: which would win the battle?
My town actually holds an annual soap box derby every year.  The highlight is watching the crowds run when the soap boxes go out of control and nearly plow into them, so definitely, definitely the soap box would win.  The soap opera people can't run nearly fast enough in those outfits.

Describe the last shirt you bought.
It was sleeveless and it had some lace on it, a little bit of embroidery down the front.... is this what you meant?

What has been your favorite vacation or travel experience?
I was born in Paraguay but my parents came back home to the States on my 1st birthday.  When I was 15 I got to go back and see all the places I'd always heard about.  It was completely foreign, but at the same time really familiar, which was sort of amazing.  Oh, and my honeymoon was really good too.
