  • melbelsaid 146 weeks ago

I think it is a cool idea... but I have an unnatural hatred for earthy colors... nothing thats brown, yellow, green or orange are in my wardrobe. Dont know why I hate those colors but I just do. Maybe if the greenish was a smidge more on the teal side... and the jellyfish were like a purply pink... Then I would be all over it like flies on poop. But thats just me.

    Cool design though.
  • melbelsaid 146 weeks ago

And... I love the little baby jellyfishies.

  • fairnymphsaid 146 weeks ago

Incredible art - the best I've seen on this site, probably. Wonderful colour choices, too.

I am not into jellyfish myself but keep it up TF!
  • alimdsaid 146 weeks ago

I'm shocked more people haven't mentioned spongebob yet. It looks exactly like the jellyfish king in spongebob, the second I saw the crown that was all I could think of.

Also, I really dislike the negative space at the bottom, with how detailed the rest is, it's too blank in my opinion.

However, this is clearly a wonderful artist with great skills, I just don't like this particular piece for the reasons mentioned above. Keep creating lots, your work is beautiful.
  • adamsw216said 146 weeks ago

Sweet, I remember last time you were printed here this was one of the side art that everyone loved. So glad that Teefury took it upon themselves to feature this.

    You little sicko :P
  • flavorlishiossaid 146 weeks ago

i would buy but i'm scarred of jelly fish it all goes back to that sunny afternoon at the beach i was five and a half.

my mother had handed me an inner tube and some water wings, she had told me to go play in the water as she worked on her tan, it was all fun and games, until i started drifting out and into a school of jelly fish it was terrible i was stung pretty bad.

then a manatee set me on the right course back to shore i had gotten into one little school of jellyfish and my momma got scarred and told me i was going to go live with my auntie and uncle in bel-air
  • briansaid 146 weeks ago

Thanks for all the feedback, everyone :)
I had a good laugh reading your comments!
  • ego1080said 146 weeks ago

The peace is really good, flawless in fact , in till the white vine things at the bottom. Complete loss of continuity there, it looks like the artist didn't know what to do so they just stuck a random thing that looks like it could belong, it doesn't. it would have been better with the sepia spatter pattern that is there. I don't mean to be insulting, it's just like a 'the end' at the end of a really good movie, It's completely unnecessary cause the credits roll. less is more.
  • seanrobotsaid 146 weeks ago

i bet sponge bob would buy this
  • briansaid 146 weeks ago

    @ego1080

I agree. Putting the white vines there seemed like a good idea at the time, which was 2 months ago, but I could have done something else to achieve the same effect now that I think about it. The white vines were placed there to break up the darkness at the very bottom of the design. Just leaving the design as it was without the vines to break up the darkness made the design gravitate too much towards the bottom. Also, the white vines would work to add some flexibility to the shirt since there would be less ink occupying the completely dark lower part of the design. Thank you for your critique!

  • Kimoppisaid 146 weeks ago

This is really nice, and I love all the water color work.

But deep down I am a giant 12 year old and the phallic nature of the jellyfish is too much for my giggling, immature self. I'm really sorry, but this one is a "no" only because I'm a child.

This is why I check TeeFury everyday: for shirts that are just too cool to be only $9! Winner!

  • icecubesaid 145 weeks ago

Don't particularly like the negative space design on the bottom. It doesn't seem to fit to me but eh, I'm not an artist.
  • leastsaid 145 weeks ago

Not a huge fan of the white space at the bottom, but that can be fixed by zipping up a sweatshirt half way :U
    Solutions for every problem!
  • protolithsaid 145 weeks ago

Overall I like it. I think the white negative space would work better if the design was on a darker colored shirt, like a blue-green or a shirt with a light blue to dark blue fade from top to bottom.
  • kihtensaid 145 weeks ago

i really like using the tshirt space as a contrast design at the bottom- makes it feel like the design is PART of the shirt, versus just ON a shirt. keeps the design from ending, visually. it does seem a little distracting but maybe that's because your colors are fighting with the loudness of the white by itself there. not sure but i still think it works, and i really love your style - the colors in all your pieces are beautiful and it's nice to see some detail, but not busy noisy detail that's overdone. your art seems very balanced.
the watercolor effect is very cool.

The jellyfish are coming...for your soul!

And apparently, they like bean sprouts. Vegan jellyfish. Who knew?
  • ericawheelansaid 145 weeks ago

Ooooooooh. There is something so phallic about this design. I LIKE IT. I don't often wear white T-shirts, but I cannot imagine this design would have looked better on any colored shirt.

I will spend the afternoon and evening contemplating and make my verdict around 10:00 tonight.
  • Anonymoussaid 145 weeks ago

jesus christ this is the coolest design ever!

the problem is I don't wear white.
  • torij9said 145 weeks ago

  • AngelinaJoliesLipssaid 145 weeks ago

If you don't like to wear white shirts, there's such an easy fix available. Just get a bottle of Rit dye. I have several colors I use to dye white shirts I order. This one I would do in pale blue or pale lilac, for contrast, or beige for a more neutral/masculine look.

If you're young and/or not artistic, and have never done anything like that, and don't think you can do the dye thing, ask any creative, artistic young woman or man you know, who's worked with fabrics. Or ask a mom to help you with it. Most women around age 45-50 have done the dye thing, some did the tie-dye thing back in the 70's.

It's easy to make a white shirt more wearable, just takes a little planning and about an hour's worth of work.
  • kata0406said 145 weeks ago

    @Muntoe-

At least you didn't start seeing it after you bought the shirt, there are so many ways that someone else pointing it out could go badly
  • mspaintdotexesaid 145 weeks ago

Damn. Not a fan of white. :(
  • Dusasaid 145 weeks ago

I totally love this design and I am really on the edge of buying it but I hate how it is on white. Why couldn't it had been on blue or teal? :(

  • stablercakesaid 145 weeks ago

Just make sure you mix the dye completely. I dyed some blank white shirts tan one time and now they've got primary color confetti syndrome :C
  • briansaid 145 weeks ago

Sorry Dusa, the design just wouldn't work on any other color. I feel your pain though, I'm also not a fan of white shirts.

ha, well it is what you want it to be I guess! If you take the design for what it is, you'll see them as jellyfish. If you want to see them as something else, then you'll see something else :P
