Jimiyo I love your work your attention to detail is unmatched.... Unfortunately the Japanese mask is a little to intense for my style. Keep up the awesome designs, New Waves is still my favorite shirt, perfect for any occasion...
Fantastic detail and lighting. Really dig the design elements like the double chin (whether that's yours, or in an original helmet you ref'd from). Would work better for me as a print, but still a fab image.
This is sick as always, but I couldn't pull it off as a shirt. I love the picture of the woman on the side, it's so entrancing. Anyway, I expected no less! yay jimiyo!
hahaha for some reason when i saw this it reminded me of this anime called "Tengen Topa Gurren Lagann" or something close to that lol. can anyone relate? haha
You're the man, jimiyo. I'm not sure I'll buy the tee, but it's great artwork.

How weird. I showed this to my little brother and he said the same thing. Gurren Lagaan rocks!
This is awesomesauce but I am taking a break from buying for a while. I have to figure out where to put any additional shirts. I have run out of room in my current set-up.
Thanks for giving me props in the interview Jimi! Muah!
Ok, skullz=not fail. I see the color blue more often. This is a ridiculously awesome take on Samurai helmet, hence the name. Looks pretty mean, and that small skull is hardly the center of attention, so I don't consider it a skull shirt. Skulls though, have been around in art for thousands of years so no wonder we see them all the time, no biggie! No fails happenin'. Anyway, I always have some interest in jimiyo's work and I'd bet many would guess the artist as jimiyo if the name wasn't posted.

Dude it was a joke. I was busting his chops since people on here hate animals, skulls, and all colors of shirts. LoL! :P
Jimiyo's the man! I agree with Conan. This deserves much partay-ing. Gangster in the back couldn't handle the fire so he stayed out the kitchen.
Jimiyo, every part of your story makes being inspired that much easier - I would believe it if next time you said your art was inspired by your dad who was a feudal lord from wartime Japan. KUDOS.
I absolutely love the illustration, but I just cant bring myself to buy a black and white shirt. I love color, but all the best teefury designs seem to end up on black, and now my wardrobe is leaning too much on the dark side....
Very nice! I agree on the comment about the knot not being detailed enough compared to the rest. It looks kind of flat, a few highlights would of brought it out nicely. Still amazing though!
If it were on a diferent colour shirt I'd probably go for it, but all the detail and lustre is just lost when a black & grey design is placed on the darkest shirt possible
I just realized what this helmet reminds me of, its from one of the demon characters from the opening sequence of Onimusha 2! Still probably one of THE baddest CGI sequences of any video game.
Awesome work! I really like this but like has been mentioned a thousand times I've been spoilt by shirts that are not scratchy or overly boxy. Kudos on the print though it's really tight.

And today's Tee of course. Saw a Jimiyo shirt over at his house of the ship, anchor etc.. that was sold on shirt.woot a while back. I was jealous.
Yeah, if that OWL design ever came back around, I hope I see it.
Would still like it if someone could tell me what the outcome of my BURROWISH shirt was....
Fuzzy, did you lose Burrowish in the mail? Consider it lost forever then. I've lost 6 or 7 shirts that way. You won't get a replacement unless you happen to get one in randoms or find one on teetrade.org.
At least, that's what customer service always told me. They never sent me replacements for any of the ones that I lost (or got stolen by postal employees).
Awesome work and got my order in under the wire. Got busy today and I'd have kicked myself if I missed out. I think you can tell by my avatar and nick why I had to order.
Words from the curator: Guys, it's jimiyo. Seriously. Need I say more? This is where it's at!
What is a day in the life of Jimiyo like? Lots of work, and after work, I'm the President of the Association of Mac Finder Haters, and Anti Mac Propaganda Legion. We are recruiting for new members here if interested.
What is your preferred mode of transportation?Mescaline, the only way to fly.Jokes, that's a Matrix allusion, I don't condone drugs, unless it's Zoloft and you really need to take a chill pill. Some people are really uptight. I have a Suzuki. The passengar seat is in the apartment garage. I like it that way.
I hear you like cats. Do you have any interesting cat collectibles? Cat calendar? Feline salt and pepper shakers? I have two cat candles as a gift from the Most Wonderful Snarkygal, a Fing Rad painting, a Pi1ihp cat drawing, and a $18 wooden 3 ft cat from TJ Maxx.
When/how did you decide art was your path? 2005, I was working at Dell as a sales rep saving money to buy a townhouse, and the path to the status quo, normality! I had the mortgage approval, the house picked out, but I hated my job. The few years I was at Dell, I would go home every night and work on art til the wee hours of the morning. My highlight of my day was showing my coworkers my art I created the night before.
So I was about to commit to buying my first home. Then my grandpaw died. Something changed. Something about a person's death will make you re-evaluate what's really important. After that I just quit. I didn't care. I was just going to Art until my savings I had for my future home ran out. Fortunately an art job landed in my lap a couple months after. That was the beginning of the path.
It's been an interesting ride ever since and the path in front of me has been mostly unpredictable. I sometimes long for the normal life, but then I don't want to look back when I'm on my death bed, and think, don't care to do that again, that was boring...

But as a shirt, it's a bit too muscle for me personally. The sheen and background give off some sort of... chopper / harley davidson type feel.

One small nitpick (which could help reinforce this image as a samurai helmet) is to lose the gray 'wings' on either side.
BTW, this design is very BAD @$$! Very much pondering a purchase...
